  • What you realise more about the boys, they were happy in the glade. Guys like Albie and Gally were happy being the big fish in the small pond. It's why Albie, once the maze was totally mapped, hadn't made more effort to find alternative escape routes or tell anyone else bar a couple of people that the maze was inescapable. Even Minho seems oddly at ease with it. It's an interesting psychological question, like in Flatland. This is their entire world and they seem happy and content with it. Thomas and Theresa are the only one who is desperate to escape and it shows.

    @1532JJ@1532JJ7 ай бұрын
    • They probably thought in their mind that there was much more out there to uncover and find but they didn't want to face it so they just stuck with the same rules every day and night till Thomas came. These were all kids under 18 so I'd say they were scared for whatever was out there.

  • In the books, the maze makes a lot more sense. (The movie has some serious logical mistakes) In the books: 1) They were programmed not to be able to climb the walls and to think that it is impossible. 2) Ben, the runner, wasn't banished because he was stung, he was banished because he attacked another glade member. (Stung people get the serum to heal them). 3) People after beeing stung didn't turned into supersoldier who could hold up grievers, they turned into more aggressive people. 4) They decided to build houses, bc they already had searched every corner of the maze for an exit, mapped every change and found the pattern. 5) Minho left, before Thomas tied Alby up. The grievers chase Thomas through the vines after that. 6) So many other stuff, I can't even list it all.

    • It’s been really long since I read the books, but I remember vividly, that climbing the walls didn’t work because saws came out and cut someone in half when they climb it. The most annoying thing about it is that the movie does actually have the proof for that in it. There is the corpse of the person who has been cut in half in the background when Thomas gets the fertilizer.

  • Since this is a maze, the kids could use the wall-follower technique. Several runners could all try to stain their hands different colors (or use different amounts of fingers to differentiate the runners' paths) and keep to the left-hand side of several different directions. Doing this, they would have known that the mazes change very quickly and find a pattern to it. Then, the runners would only need to really study one or two mazes, and on the days where they aren't in use, they can help the community. They'd still get the sequence since all the runners would know the pattern of the mazes and possibly get out more quickly. The runner's curfew should also be earlier to prevent a situation like what happened at 9:36. To also prevent this, the runners should know about shadow positioning in relation to time, since it's unlikely they'll be able to see the sun clearly at any given time. When someone is stung, the boys should still put them in the pit, but also take the opportunity to ask questions about the grievers. If even one person gets stung, at least they'd be more prepared for the next one if they have some base-line information. They'd probably be able to know their attacks before the Glade was overrun. Though I've never read the book, so maybe this was all addressed their

  • Your solution to beating the maze is quite often "ditch everyone else". Which is a horrible plan. You're currently in a controlled deadly environment with no knowledge of the outside world. If it's this deadly in here, who knows how dangerous it is outside the maze. You should be trying to keep everyone together and bring them all outside to maximize our chances of survival afterwards.

    @nicholaswilliams6475@nicholaswilliams64758 ай бұрын
    • That's often his plan in EVERY video. If it's not ditching people, having meat shields, or making a bargain with killers- it's making these solutions the average person wouldn't know or would realistically feel in a situation. He looks at these movies in an analytical way because he watched these, so of course, it seems like he can come up with ANY solution but not take emotions and level of knowledge into account. When I imagine myself in the mazerunner, my first thought is to follow the rules, ask some clarifying questions and build up genuine connections with the group. This dude here is already going on a tangent about his memories being erased and building stuff to scale the walls. People are more likely to share things if you are closer to them so when the time comes to ask and question stuff it's done in good faith rather than interrogating someone. Cinema often overlooks the power dynamics in some movies. His way at playing the power game is using someone in their weaker state or the lowest in the power scale is to use that person for their gain. I would agree with this if its every man for themself but most of these movies opens up teamwork as an option even if it's a "only one can survive" death game and logically most people would do this to increase their chances of survival. And you know what? I don't even blame people for looking after themselves but at least keep it consistent thats your goal. Cinema switches to "okay lets work together and be brother in arms" to "yeah fuck you guys im saving my skin, but if you do this to me yall are bad". It honestly makes you a two-faced hypocritical coward. The dissonance in the videos is so hilariously annoying. If a new person calls bs of what someone who has stayed longer, they probably be pissed or tell them to stay in their lane, unless you have evidence at the ready (which he wouldn't have or think of doing) he's going to get shut down because he hasn't earned his right to question stuff. And even then, nobody really knows anymore than what they've been doing for three years. They got complacent, yes, but it's also risky doing majority stuff Cinema suggests because it doesn't have a fail safe incase it goes to shit. Only reason I'm watching these videos is the summary aspect, I watched a person who made some videos that dismantles most of his ideas and I found them entertaining, if interested, I can try to find them and update you.

  • I’m surprised you immediately would think the scanner is looking for more people rather than scanning to see if it’s a griever. Since the tracker was in the griever, and doesn’t open without it, I’d think it was like some sort of fob so the griever could go sleep in the cave during the day. Then instead of letting the griever in, it saw kids and self destructed.

    @yourogrelord@yourogrelord2 жыл бұрын
    • That ties in a lot better to the actual story in the book. Since the Grievers retreat to the griever hole every morning, that’s how Thomas and Minho figured out that that could be their escape. It’s really disappointing how they don’t tie the grievers in to the escape besides a random tracker being in them. That almost means that a Glader would HAVE to kill a griever, which is only possible with plot armour. They just find a random hole in the wall and that leads them straight out out the maze, no extra fuss, no nothing. And they only grab the other Gladers because that’s literally vital for their success. In the book, they’re incentivised to go as a team as they could get through more grievers. Thomas (theoretically) COULD have done it all himself, but he DECIDED to.

A person can never go a day without talking to someone let alone their entire life. Like the plans he suggests will just make him selfish and all for himself. Cuz compared to what one person can do, there's more progress of having more people together along side more manpower and strength together. We humans are better together than alone, bascially we are a pack, herd and group. Then also making plans off the bat doesn't work 95% of the time. Rather the plan never goes as plan.
