Jay Shetty Talks With Katie Couric On Purpose in Work, Life, and Love

Like many influencers these days, Jay Shetty is much discussed, but not necessarily much understood. He seems like he’s everywhere-officiating JLo and Ben Affleck’s wedding, dispensing wise sound bites on TV, and connecting daily to nearly 50 million people across a variety of social media and other platforms. Shetty rejects the title “guru,” which some have used to describe him, but it’s easy to see that he’s a guiding light for many. Shetty strives to create spaces where true vulnerability and openness is possible, and he brought a sense of peace and calm to this wide-ranging interview which traces his path from “failed” monk to household name. Together, Katie and Jay explore the power of unconditional love, and how to take self-care from buzzy jargon to practical tactics for bringing more peace into our lives.

  • thank you both, you appear to be kind and considerate people. I hope you are genuine. it is so hard to know who and what is real nowadays. its confusing and scarey for average people. I am going to go with my gut and say you speak authentically. Although I get nervous when guests are subtley mentioning or referring to books they are selling.

  • That was so beautiful. What a wonderful calm and gentle interview. Thank you for your input on losing your soulmate . I too lost my husband. He had a blood disorder and had a liver transplant at age 62. He died a year later. We were the same age and I am now 71yrs old and miss him everyday. I take him carry him with me on this wonderful journey I now have. Thanks for this podcast!!

  • My favorite poem as a child was Emily Dickinson’s “I’m a nobody, who are you?” Love was definitely missing in my childhood.

  • I use to like Kate but I’m thinking big time narcissist. You are not fit to wash the feet of the great American voters. Be it dem or republican. I hope to hear a sincere apology soon. God bless you

    • Totally agree! She is so condesending and thinks anyone who is part of the middle class is ignorant and jealous of her elitist superiority. She is discusting like the rest of the bias media.
