  • Step 1, get rid of the “Wrongler” square eyeballs, only kidding, I had a ‘91, loved it. I now have a 2010 JK Rubicon (3.8) and a 2016 JKU 75th Anniversary Edition (3.6 Pentastar hunk of garbage motor, 3.8 so much better). I was originally looking for a 2005/2006, as I love that 4.0, (prior to 2010 purchase), found one with 58k miles, and I was ready to jump on it, then that frame was coated in a rubberized black tar compound, which to me is a huge red flag, I did a close inspection and bore camera inside the frame, and it was pitted to heck, I walked away, I was so disappointed, I really wanted the “Yella fella”.

  • That frame is actually in pretty good shape, I do not think it needed to be cut, some clean and treat may have sufficed ?
