  • nice one..as time passed I realized that Sackitye Okiyere was 3 different people .she was a young female, a 30-year-old woman, and a young man who needed money to help him through school...the common factor in all those who asked for money was that each person asked for 50 USA dollars, whether they were in Ghana, Liberia, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya or Rwanda, etc...Sakawa is a mindset of Africans who see the need to find ways to survive. At some point in many of our lives adopted that mindset. I personally wish that I can be the person to help the many brothers and sisters in Africa by providing essentials such as jobs that will better and improve the plight of the poor. There is no right nor wrong in the struggle of survival. Africa i love you

  • "SAKAWA"' was actually derived from the west African language of Hausa. "Saka" means " to Drop into" and the suffix "wa" turns any verbs into an adjective (I stand to be corrected). So Sakawa basically describes the act of someone (client/victim) dropping some money for the scammer.
