  • Sixty Formula, you have some great videos! I just watched the one about training your dog for off leash, and yes, a real commitment to your dog, by being patient and calm, training inside and outside, and just practicing over and over. Now, watching training your husky on leash. My Husky can not get off leash, until she learns to walk on leash! Try not to make this too long, but I've had her for two years now, and the first year was Heartworm disease, she was found in Texas, app. two years old, and came all the way to coastal Maine! So she was going very slow on leash for a year, it took that long to get her up to good health. Then she had a touch of Lyme disease, only took a couple of months with antibiotic to get her better, so now she has the strength of an Amazon!! And I see all the usual Husky traits, she can be totally oblivious outside ,just follows her nose everywhere, and I am being so yanked around! Doesn't hear one word I say. I did find out that she hates to go backwards on leash, and boy, that gets her attention! And I've always been into making sure she gets her 4 miles in, but we are just going to come back home, if she doesn't cooperate. And thank you for giving me the treat training, and coming back to you and sitting while on leash. I have spent so much time already training and being with her, I hope she appreciates it!! I have spent the better part of a year, just being dragged and yanked around our town, throughout the entire 4 mile walk, being forcefully dragged. There are times she will slow down, but not consistently. My body can not do that..... she knows when I'm annoyed at her, and she will come over and put her head under mine, saying she is sorry...she is a lovely dog and she is just following her DNA but we will never make it, if we follow her rules.

Today she broke my I-phone and I became so frustrated and felt hopeless 😞 Because I am still a bit weak from cancer surgery I almost thought I’d have to give her away….. But…. I get it, I truly get her after watching how you brought your husky backwards 🤣 McKinley hates going backwards, both in the back seat of my suv and during a walk 😂 When I say “ let’s go home “ or I cut a walk short she moves so slowly to go home! 🤣😂 huskies are full of energy and curiosity and they are “ SMART “!! 🤣 Just now I had pieces of a pork chop and I used a few pieces to prove how much she understands my word commands! I now have an important tool that I didn’t recognize until your video….. ♥️👍🏼👍🏼🐾🥰 Thank you so very much for this lesson. You’ve helped kinley and I out of this issue 🐾

  • Your video helped me so much! I don’t have a husky but I have a pit bull named Sasha and she loves to pull while we walk. Btw I’m a 100lb 13 year old with a 50 lb pit bull. Sasha is extremely sweet but she loves to chase squirrels and go and try to meet other dogs and I used to have to drag her by squirrels and dogs and I’d get dirty looks and I’d get yelled at by adults telling my to get my dog before she kills a dog (Sasha would never kill anything) so I realized I had to teach her how to stop lunging and pulling at things so I used a lot of other methods that didn’t work but then I used your method and I saw results on the first walk instead of me telling sasha to come I stop and stand still slightly tug on the leash and when she comes to me I make her spin and I treat her and then she can walk again. If she’s distracted I’ll go and make her sit and wait till she focuses again! Thank you so much for this video also I have to make sure Sasha is properly trained because I really want to help remove the stigma around pit bulls and it’s hard to do since the pit bull that lives directly across my street is the most vicious dog I’ve ever seen the dog has attacked my two little dogs and has killed a chihuahua it bit a lady and it sent another dog to the hospital the dog hasn’t been sent away because everyone only thought it happened to them so they tried to give the dog another chance. The dog across the street and my dog look really similar to Sasha except Sasha is a girl and the dog across the street is a boy so sometimes Sasha is mistaken for the boy dog and that sucks. But they see her behaving they immediately realized Sasha isn’t the boy dog and they pet her and they tell me that they feel a lot better about pit bull since they met Sasha! (sorry my comment was soo long) I hope you read this!

One was able to be off leash the other couldn’t until she was older, both rescues. I take her to the dog park almost every day, walks every day, but I can’t get her to come to me! 😭😭😭 especially at the dog park, I have noticed if I start walking towards the gate she comes, but she does the normal dart and play. I often turn back too, and she doesn't like that so she started immediately sitting when I try to turn around🤣 I thought people would think it was cruel and even in knowing, what works for some, doesn't always work for others, I still wonder if the neighbors hear me talking 2 my dog during walks, and think Im strict or mean 🤔 but let's face it huskies are totally different breed of dogs and all the rest one of a kind they like being talked to and they like to talk back 🤣

  • Will this work when they try to lunge and pull towards other dogs? I have a male husky i got from a friend who just turned 1 and its very hard to control him when other dogs come into his sight he often burns my hands yanking the leash from between my fingers when i try to get ahold of his harness and bring him back to me to try and calm him down

  • Hi, thanks for your video but I'm wondering how do your dogs behave when you walk them both at the same time? Since I found it's pretty hard for me to have my dogs under control and follow my commands when they are walked together. I also have two huskies as well, a girl and a boy, and their main problem is pulling the leash almost all the time, especially when we are going out of the door. I would always need help from my boyfriend to walk them together. If I walk them separately, they behave so much better, but the dog stays at home howls and cries until we get home and that will definitely make my neighbor unhappy. Looking forward to your reply :>

  • "You're not a boy, dude" hahah Ohh I just found your channel and I like it so far. Before several days I got a female husky (her name is Rita) from a owner who gave her away for free, sadly she was not a baby, but already 1 y.o. (she made 1 year on 08 january) and I know how stubborn huskies can be.. and how they always wants things to happend "how they want them to be" haha and I really want to teach her the basics - like commands to sit/go and not pulling the leash always. I mean I know it's like in their nature to pull things, but.. I have friend with 2 husky boys and they usually don't pull at all or not that much, but they are much older now. I hope it's not too late to teach my dog things, because I know the best way is to start when they're still babies /or puppies/.

    • I would start with a 4ft leash. I have also used a good quality no pull harness. Make sure if you do use a harness it fits to her/his measure. Don't want your bud pulling a Houdini on you.

  • I love your vids! But I wish you would of mentioned that Siberian huskies were specifically bred to be independent and make their own descisions, and to pull, for dogsledding purposes! This is why huskies (or any sleddog type) can be harder to train than other dogs.
