BetaFPV Meteor 75 Pro | Rip & Review & Destroy
#betafpv #fpv #drone
Today we take the BetaFPV Meteor 75 Pro for a spin. We fly it right out of the box how you should expect to get it. As well as on default Quicksilver tune, with updated ELRS as well. Finally we conclude with a crash testing that only lasted 8 hits :(. I hope you enjoy!

Great smashing video bro
We're going streaking!!
Thanks for taking the hit 🤣👊👍👍
Great video
Bummed I missed the Livestream of the torture testing! Awesome to see this whoop actually lives up to the hype! Awesome review!! 👍🤌
You didn't miss much
Felt like it ended before it even began.
Took me 3 min 20 seconds to notice the shirt. I love the 75 Pro but I have had two of the VTXs die. On one the UFL pulled the pad up and when I tried to repair it the video would show but it just got insanely hot. I have good soldering equipment and microscope so no reason the repair shouldn't have worked. Second one just died on me. For comparison no happymodel ovx300 or ovx303 has ever died on me or pulled a pad up. For camera mount I replaced the stock mount with a mcstinky(saves a bit of weight) and I uploaded a vtx M03 mount to printables. Curious if soldering an external ELRS would fix the broken board? They only add 0.5g.
Those tap sounds are so satisfying... man. I could use an avacado tune in my life, great stuff man!
wow now at 2024 looking to buy this small drone. pretty new to fpv and i wonder how long does it take to fly like him? such precision control!
I have been flying for 4 years now. I fly everyday. In real life and in simulators. Lots of practice! You can do this too 💪
Awesome flying! You making me buy one. Lol! Can you pls review the cetus pro.. thank you
thank you for Review. Want to see a photo of plate - did you found any issues?
Very durable 💪💪💪
Meteor 75 pro or Mobula 7? I can't decide!
Great video!😊
Fantastic flying.
I put mine on fractal 75 max frame and change vtx for tbs unify pro 32 nano . It's rly better on quicksilver setup ?
Same stuff my son Trigger does lol he tries to knock my quads down says he's playing tag with it lol my youngest just turned 6 he's a beast on lift off he's soon to have him a mini whoop he's already flown off a few Wal Mart brands lol
Hello, the drone works really great but sometimes one propellers(always the same) is not spinning or is not spinning well and the led is red when I armed it and doesn't want to take of and fly but I have to arme it and disarme it a couple time before it work. Can you help me?
If you get one of these, be very careful about where you’re going to crash this thing. Usually enough of those head on dings…and the same exact problem will happen. Sometimes it won’t even register from the flash drive that you’ve got a USB hooked up. Do not fly and crash on grass that has even the slightest bit of dew on it. If that thing lands just the right way, and water makes contact with that flight controller just the right points. Then you’ll start noticing motors are acting “stuttery” not too long after you start having crashes and situations like that. Place more importance on the flights you will take with this craft.
You should review the new tinyhawk 3 plus freestyle thatd be sick
damn i need one.. all my whoops are 65mm.
I am enjoying my Meteor75 Pro Analog. Lots of high speed horrific crashes into metal objects outdoors so far and nothing has broke. Great for beginners who want to fly both indoors and outdoors during low wind.
Same. many 100s of crashes, maybe 1000 by now, including countless failed power loops full speed on to concrete. Only needed to replace 2 motors so far. They still worked, but got rough.
Awesome review man - Wholesome and peaceful neighborhood vibes for the outdoor flights lol appreciate the unbiased conclusions, as well! I think the picture quality outside MIGHT BE somewhat related to the fusion module. Fusion seems to brighten up the image compared to RapidFire. Most cases I think fusion makes DVR look better but this might not be one of them. Not that this cam is amazing, but I think it looks PARTICULLARY BAD here. BUT I MEAN ITS NO BEE EYE BABY UWU
🤘
You somehow managed to push the enameled antenna wire down to a (+) contact on the VTX. This effectively fried that circuit, which is why it is no longer recognized. A tiny dab of hot glu will prevent it.
Got mine today and it s perfect 🤩 I was flying with the 65 meteor and man this 75 pro is simply Wahou 🤩
Can you do a 75 Pro build with your snow blower motors with a lighter canopy?
For sure
❤❤❤
Thanks buddy is the cocroach 75 any good?
I, personally, am not a fan of the 75mm Cockroach. If I am looking for a 75mm frame, it'd buy a Fractal75. If not that, then a Mobula7 v4.
I have a Walkksnail Meteor75, I use it a LOT more than my 5inch. I hope to rip like you do on whoop one day!
What you think is the best FC with a vtx included for Frsky quads?
Probably the Happymodel X12.
@@InfinityLoops awesome thanks Loops!
The x12 is the 1-2s 12A one. For 1s whoop you could also take the diamondf4 which is much lighter.
Also much less reliable than the x12. I've tried to stop recommending it. I have a pile of dead ones here. I think I'm up to 12.
@@nikotttin But adding AVTX to the ELRS board is the same price as the FRSKY board. Might as well get the e LRS
Tnanks
Hey there, I have a quick question... I just picked this up. Been flying it for maybe 30 packs and out of nowhere the vtx is going out when I fly beyond 20 ft. Weird, I checked all the connections around the vtx and antenna and now it literally can't fly more than 20 ft away. The vtx is and has been set at 400.
Chek soldering on FC and vtx mine was weak some more solder and is good.
Thanks, so actually now I'm more confused. My 75 pro's video signal is now grey. I'm getting osd but nothing else. Checked all the soldering joints. I switched the camera and still grey. I checked the vtx's camera port and the vtx's soldering joints, all look solid. If you can give me any other advice I sure would appreciate it!! Keep up your videos, you guys ROCK!
So cool to see trippies with a whoop ✊😎
I thought the school bus was cool. Let's get those kids into stem.
On my drone I discovered some more failure points before losing the elrs receiver for good: the camera cable popped out several times, and I tore the wire - ended up soldering it to vtx directly with stronger wires. The props can chew the antenna and rip the bell off. Also they can chew the wires if you are not careful. On the frame my weak points were rear standoff and the front ducts. The ducts cracked right where the camera looks at them. Fixed with a vinyl tape. I'm currently flying with biblade props, and occasionally put a lollipop antenna on it. The antenna is tied to a tab on vtx with a heatshrink tube. The connection is strong, but it's very inconvenient to change the antenna. Also, my crashes were a bit more creative than smashing head first into the wall. Many times it was rolling and banging from trees and cliffs :-)
Very nice review and testing! What do you think about Meteor65 pro for indoors?
That's a great choice for indoors.
Hey man, I just bought this bad boy as well. I really like the range you got with that whoop. I was wondering what kind of antenna and goggles you're using? I have DJI Goggles v2 with BDI analog adapter + immersionRC rapidfire module. Also, Lumenier AXII 2 antennas. I am getting pretty poor range with my meteor 75pro ELRS one. I am wondering if you did any adjustments to your goggles or vtx? If so, what? Thank you so much for the video
Howdy! I am using the HDZero goggles with TBS Fusion module. A MenaceRC lollipop antenna and a foxeer Oreo patch. I turned the vtx power up to 200 and 350 for most of this video.
Nice review! Curious what your top 75mm pick is? I’m also piqued by this quicksilver - hadn’t heard about it, but will try it on a spare Mob6 👍🏽
I'm using it on fractal kits for my Mob 6 and 2 7's. It's a little weird at first coming from BetaFlight, but it's simple enough to figure out. The tunes are awesome. I love to tinker too so there's that. Well worth looking into.
I'd say this whoop and the mobula7 1s are high on my list. The Fractal75 is my absolute favorite. A little pricey, but well worth it for the quality. Quicksilver is awesome! Not for everyone, but I've been enjoying flying it on everything for months now.
Thanks guys. Yeah, will def check it out!
@InfinityLoops +1 for the fractal75. I have one with 25000kv motors and run it on a 450mah tattu. Get very long flight time and performs way better than my other micros.
I just built something very similar to that. I can't get over how tough that frame is. Have you broke one of those frames yet?
Even after smashing the bah-jesus out of that thing, I only broke the FC. Frame is intact 💪
The "goofy" looking canopy top helmet and horns do add weight and air resistance that increases squared with air speed... BUT they have an important function if needed to soften impacts as seen crashing into the sheet of drywall as well as cement walls, rocks, etc extending the life of the gyro as well as improving the turtle modes flip over function. Had those been used in smashing into the hard drywall I suspect the torture test would have continued. BetaFPV should not be under estimated in their design process. BetaFPV gave us the BT2.0, the first proper and much needed "real" 1S battery connector to replace all the unsoldered snap-in connectors in use like the PH2 and 2pin Molex with exposed polarity metal showing. It only takes one battery wire coming out to set a batch of batteries close together on fire as well as fry an AIO flight controller. The worst nightmare of the poorly performing 1S battery connectors used in the past is the PH2 and like DVDs used on CRT tube TVs replacing VHS tapes still being sold to use on 4K TV's at Walmart is also still being used despite the fact it was never intended to be battery connector that requires constant disconnect and reconnect cycles. GNB makes great batteries but after two attempts with the GNB 27 v1 & v2 connector gave up and copied BetaFPV's BT2.0 connector calling it the A30 by making it a propriety connector to use with only their batteries. So I hope BetaFPV makes the same modification as all you have to do is solder and melt one GNB A30 to see the difference in quality compared to the BT2.0 that is hard to melt in comparison. BetaFPV manufacturing quality is getting better all the time so don't let a few bad reviews from the past spoil your choice in which manufactures to support. The slight weight added by using the top helmet and horns is well worth it IMO unless you are racing or flying in high winds.
The added trinkets on top of the canopy wouldn't make any difference if the damage to the FC came from the canopy being smashed down into it. The hit would still be the same there. Although you don't mind the extra weight, I build mine to be as light as I can get them without a major sacrifice to the durability. To each their own tho, fly what you like. The a30 is a sad attempt at putting their name on someone else's homework, I agree. Also, pro tip, they work with bt2.0 plugs. Fully compatible, which at first I didn't believe but I've now tested and confirmed the claim. I'll continue to try things from betafpv, it'd be a really dumb stance for me to take to write off a company forever just for a few mistakes. They can't all be perfect all the time. Fly on, much love 🤘
@@InfinityLoopsI would agree if the canopy did smash down on the FCB but it didn't. It only put pressure where the FCB mounting screws to the frame are located and protected the FCB. At first thought they do look like trinkets added to look cool, but they make a surprising difference by absorbing energy just as a piece of foam would do so glad you said "without sacrificing durability";-) IMO the series of hard crashes likely caused the 75 Pro's larger frame with larger motors to flex too much as the FCB is only 0.8mm thick. There was no compression damage to the canopy so assuming the helmet and horns are the same that come on the 2023 HX 115 SE toothpick having them installed would have certainly reduced the force that likely caused the frame and thin FCB PCB to flex too much. So at only 45 grams I doubt it would have been damaged until the helmet and horns broke off at some point and wish he had put them on to be fair to the engineers and their CAD program designing it. It looks like it hit "just right" on the top of the hard canopy dead center maximizing the impact load when it failed.
I am the one who flew it. I didn't put the stuff on the canopy because if I were buying it not to test, I still wouldn't have used the extra pieces. Just skimming through thumbnails on YT most people didn't use the little pieces either. Watching the crashes, the majority were on the nose of the frame and front side on the canopy, slightly above camera. So if the nose of the frame is leading in a crash and you say it wasn't from the canopy, but the frame bending, I guess the little horns wouldn't have stopped the damage after all.
I think you should try it with trinkets, just to be sure?? I'm searching for my first FPV gear. Pretty good rips...
The Happymodel Cross and this BFPV FC have pathetic ELRS construction. I've had 3 HM Cross and 2 BFPV FC over the summer and *all* of their ELRS failed after a number of crashes each. Both manufacturers need to fix this issue!
Hi there I just got my METEOR 75 PRO 2 days ago and i love it , its very easy to fly and control the speeds holy crap its the best FPV drone I ever own as i own a cetus pro drone as well and compair the cetus pro to the meteor 75 pro the cetus pro is a step down from the meteor 75 pro, I love it I cant stop flying but one weak area is the power cable its a little short and you have to bend that white part to plug in the battery I see that part the wires come out like my cetus pro did in the same area................. betafpv i hope they fix this .
What's ya freestyle rates ?
Betaflight defaults with no expo.
Can't say I'm a fan of BetaFPV's camera's. Looks like it flys well, but then again you can make anything look like it rips! I only have an older 65 acro, it's fun and flys decent. I kinda like the goofy canopy pieces, maybe for gorilla whoopin in parks (I'm sure onlookers will think it's cute and I get to keep flying?). Like the bigger motors, have yet to move up to 45mm props and frames, I have many 40mm ones to destroy first. Thanks for the review, cheers!
I have the same whoop and camera, and mine doesnt look nearly as blown out. Outdoors it actually looks pretty darn good. I would have liked to see some low light testing though, because that is where my camera drops the ball, especially a dark room with like one window, it gets pitch black. So maybe betafpv "tuned" the camera settings to handle that better, at the expense of getting white out outside? If so, Im happier with old settings :)
Which default QS tune did you use? Any adjustments to it?
Default 75mm 1s tune. No adjustments
Ty. Did you need to adjust D for the BMI gyro at all?@@InfinityLoops
I may have turned the D term first pass off. I think by default it was on. But that was it
Hi, what rates do you use?
Stock Betaflight rates. 667 on all axis. No expo
@@InfinityLoops you fly very cool, how long did it take to learn how to do that?
Thank you. I have been flying for 4 years. I fly daily. Lots of practice
stock rates?
Default Betaflight Rates
Aw heck yeah now this is a real review lol those other guys simpin keep bringing the heat brother Vrap on
I had two of those betafpv 1s aio die on me with the same elrs connection loss issue. Those were the older versions with the ceramic elrs antenna. They broke off and the RC link was dead. I actually tried recovering the aio fc in the baking oven to retain the circuit board. It actually worked for a day, until it died again. The last betafpv 75 pro is holding up so far. My statistic with betafpv aio lasting is like 60% still working in the long run. Unfortunatly happymodel is just as crap.
Hdzero would have survived none of those crashes
Depends on how you build it
What are your rates
Default Betaflight rates, no expo 🤘
I’m new to FPV so I’m trying the tiny WHOOP GO stimulator, how long did it take you ? As in getting use to doing Acro all over the place without crashing
Welcome to the hobby! I started flying in the very start of 2020.
lmfao why was it saying bedankt at the end? are you dutch bro 😂
Haha no no, every video I try to end with "Thank You" in different languages.
@@InfinityLoops oooh lol that explains iit! 🤣
I have noticed that the VTX PCB only has a very small clearance from the Flight Controller PCB... I think, a strong crash may have caused these two PCBs (or its components) to touch each other which eventually lead to short circuit... possibly... Although, I don't have the PCB drawings to verify this wild assumption...hehe
It died a honorable death. Thanks for the excellent review (as usual).
this or the mobula 7 1s?
Probably mob7.
@@InfinityLoops ok thanks
!gamble 100000
Dinglez rolled a 17 and lost 100000. Rip them humble bux. Xoxoxoxoxo
@@InfinityLoops Daaaaaamn! 😵💫
I had bad luck with BetaFPV on multiple purchases. They're on my blacklist.
it looks too heavy for indoor even for you :) you def were slower on sticks in this one. but looks like a solid drone for a beginner who doesnt know what he wants outdoor or indoor, i think it will be decent for all situations. but if its for a beginner i would warn them to be careful with flashing quicksilver and etc, they may not recover it
I don't think Quicksilver was the issue, i flew it on QS for about a week. I think the drywall smashing was the culprit for why it stopped working 😄
@@InfinityLoops oh nono. i didnt mean that. all those crashing were for fun, i mean that in my opinion this drone is great for beginners in this hobby and for a beginner who saw betaflight for the first time will be hard to flash QS. i did not mean that it broke cuz of it :D
Got one of those myself and crushed it so hardly I couldn't believe it's still was able to fly after such abuse... unfortunately next an accelerometer has died. While on the bench I have bent frame by hand and was able to see how FC was bending too, so if BETAFPV will be able to figure out how to avoid such bending with extra dumping this will be un-killable quad with amazing value.
Get I have OG's shirt please
can i have one?
