    • I kinda disagree, Hector barely makes Achilles squirm at anytime in their duel. While in this movie even though I know the winner, makes my heart pumping at all of its moment. Every blow seems it could kill if any of the fighter is distracted for a moment.

  • LET THEM GO! LET THEM GO! ...Super underrated movie. The opening perfectly set the tone and the final duel is one of the best combat scenes u will ever see PERIOD. So gritty, violent, and suspenseful. Shame it didn't get the box office numbers it deserved.

Be honest, the Russians have great camremen but they only have one Andrei Tarkovsky. I tried watching Polish and Russian movies, beautifully photographed but the directing was terrible and on the other hand, badly photographed movies that were saved only because of good direction and editing. Point being it's the director not a cameraman that makes a good movie. Although a good cameraman is a must for a good team.

    • charles vi was notoriously volatile as he had mental illness that plagued him from his mid 20s til his death. the dates in the movie are pre-onset, but you can tell from the actor's portrayal he's got something going on up there... just a bit too unhinged and disconnected from reality to appear normal

Sometimes its not the actors that make a movie but the leadership...never thought much of ben Affleck or Matt Damon I used to get them confused lol and did not see a period flick in their future... but because I like period films, Ridley Scott and Adam driver-its is sure to be a good movie. ben Affleck as a blond lol I think the mullet is Matt Damons best look.

    • And they should. They rewrote it because there was no way they dared show that the woman, who was the property of her husband, might have lied at his insistence. The truth was never known, even at the time it happened, how could it possibly be known today?

Besides, the movie wouldn't be showing different perspectives if they only wanted to present one final truth.

    • @@maya-parisan They left out the perspective that the husband put her up to it because that would've implied she was lying. They can't show that in today's climate. They also invented LeGris's perspective that there was a consensual encounter. He always maintained he never touched Marguerite. And the husband, a trained and experienced fighter, which LeGris was not, would never have challenged LeGris to a duel if he was afraid of losing.

  • Went to see this last night and that scene with the horse humping the other horse while the guy beats it with a shovel to try to stop it from impregnating his horse was the most hilarious thing I've ever seen in a movie and this is far from a comedy

  • The period setting was the selling point for me, Paris being a shithole of a city back then, and becoming one now again almost 1,000 years later is just poetic justice. Old Europe never changes, right, we can agree on that.

  • Halloween Kills got most of the audience, but I watched this after that movie (the people are just so stupid and I didn't feel sorry for them when they got killed). The Last Duel is a much better movie and hopefully will do better at the box office.

    • @@noetakeuchi8284 spoiler In the book and real life matt damons character (I don't want to spell the real names wrong lol) kills him and illustrations show him cut off adams characters head. Matt Damon then becomes the kings bodyguard in real life and becomes very wealthy. There's no historical account of his death but it is believed he was killed in combat at age 60 or so. Mainly I want to know if he cuts his head off. Those illustrations with the head could be fake or just artists of the time taking creative liberties.
