Carried Glock 19 for years. Lately I’ve switched to the 17. More capacity and more accurate. It conceals just fine if you know what you’re doing.
Yep. I use a leather paddle holster, which can be easily moved around discreetly whilst wearing
Agreed, i also switched to gen 3 17, i carry appendix. With right holster and belt, it is carried just as comfortably as the g19.
@@gorethegreatwhat kind of holster? I’m trying to get one
Hard to find a affordable holster
I just downgraded from a Glock 17 to a 19. I actually haven't had the Glock 17 in years, but I was considering either buying another one or going with something smaller. I'm a petite female with tiny hands, so I think it's going to be a lot more comfortable for me. I can't wait to pick it up next week 🎯 I was going to get a sig P365 or 320 but I'm used to Glocks and, honestly the sig is a bit intimidating with the girth of it (that's what she said) but seriously, it's a bit thicker, and since the price point was there with the Glock 19, I decided to go with that this time. I'll probably eventually either get a Glock 17 or a p365 in the future but I'm happy with my recent purchase. I think it will work out nicely for my size. I'm 5'5 and fluctuate between 115 and 130lbs.
The Glock 45 is the answer for my perfect gun (a combination of both these models). I really think Glock nailed it with the 45.
Agreed!! 45 and 19x are my two favorites.
Are the 45 and the 19x basically the same thing?
@@AJKammereryes.
Yup but having a g45 and g19 is smart because both frames and slides will work together
I put a Holosun on mine fantastic
I think Glock 17 is for duty use. Like using a battle belt and level 3 holster. Other than that Glock 19 is versatile for all other scenarios.
I carry a Glock 17 on duty yes. It's on my hip right now in my duty belt.
@@ClickClack_Bam Airsoft "duty" doesn't count.

😊😊😊
I prefer my G19 over a G17 for duty use because it’s shorter and doesn’t get caught up as much upon dismounting my vehicle
I watched this whole video last night before I had to go to work. Awesome vid btw. I love the comparison. I find that the 17 and 19 are both very similar yet very unique in their own ways. It all depends on you and your preference, honestly.
I am surprised when people say the the G17 and the G19 has the same feel of recoil.. Recoil is a simplistic term that lumps reaction force, muzzle flip up and muzzle dive all in one term. I have noticed that the G19 slide dynamics is much more balanced in reciprocation due to the shorter length leading to less reciprocating mass. I first hated the G19 short grip as it used to pinch my pinky finger between the magazine plate and the bottom edge of the frame grip.. As such I ditched the G19 and got a glock 17 that I enjoyed shooting IDPA matches for 10 years, until last year when I shot my friend's G19 with an after market cut under the trigger guard. That little extra cut under the trigger guard allowed me enough space to raise my grip by about 0.25 inches enough to land my pinky on the grip and avoid the pinching of my pinky with the mag plate.. Then I discovered what a nice more balanced reciprocating slide the G19 has.. I ended up buying a G19 and did the cut under the trigger guard, and eversince I shoot my G19 more than my G17 for that sweet balance.
what is the little cut you speak of ...can you direct me..
@@garyr9220 google Glock 19 trigger guard undercut
You could also buy the 45 for that purpose
@@devn3813 spot on
Just remember that an under cut on any Glock will lower and drop your front sight down which I do not like!
Good presentation Mr. KAYA 👍👍👍👍👍👍 If one is a CCW holder and Does carry when out and about it is true that the Glock 19 is more concealable as the G45 still has the longer grip that prints a little more. All 3 ; 19, 17, G45 are great guns and I don't think anyone can make a mistake with which ever one they choose. Just practice as much as you can until the gun becomes an extension of your movements .
Arex delta x gen 2. Iron sights, metal mags, thinner, lighter, and completely modular. Also if you shop Around it can be found about 2/3 the cost of a Glock. It is slightly more snappy than a Glock of comparable dimensions.
For the pinching I just solved it by keeping a 15 round flush mag in my gun (Taurus G3) then keep 17 round mags as back ups.
I like my 19 but the Glock 17 is a classic.
Very informative. Thank you.
Interesting. Good video. Good information. Thank you 👍
Far as 9mm goes I prefer the 26. Perfect for concealment with stock mags but the option of good booted extended mags gives you not only more ammo but extended grip as well.
Glock 26 is king!!!
I am lucky enough to have all 3 Glocks. Gen 4 19, Gen 4 17 and Gen 5 26. I tend to carry the 26 with the OEM 10rnd mag with two OEM 15rnd mags as spares. This seems to work well for me most of the time. Likewise, when I carry my 19, I back that one up with two 17rnd mags. In all cases, especially when traveling, any one of the three is additionally backed up with 2 33rnd OEM mags in the console. That was excellent content and I WILL be giving my G17 a try and carry it more often. I have not always been Kaya's biggest fan but with this content, I do believe he has won me over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No literally my favorite Glock
too small. too snappy for edc in my opinion. i got to stick with my 19x who fits my hand perfect & hold 19+1 with very little recoil too.
Excellent and precise demo.
I prefer the G17 over the G19!!!
G19 is definitely the do it all gun just because the magazine interchangeability. I personally love the Glock 45 9mm the best and it is the smoothest fastest shooting Glock out there with the longer grip and shorter barrel, such a sweet balance. But I carry the Glock 17 for work and can’t complain, faster velocity and more accurate at longer range with the longer barrel.
17 gen 4, 19X, and 26 gen 4. Each has a specific purpose. My favorite to shoot is the 19X.
What is the purpose of each of you dint mind Sir?
Great job ... I have a Glock 17, but it is hard to conceal. This is an informative and helpful video on the strengths and weakness of these two models of Glock handguns.
The reason I got the Glock 17 is because it so big and square and ordinary.
i can't conceal it either, im small guy, 5'10 tall 150 pounds the most. it really shows on me
Really cause I conceal my Glock 22 and have 0 issues im 511 at 235
Why need to conceal, in Europe you can't even go around with a gun in your pocket unless you're a police man or a sensible person like a judge
@@K.Marx48this is America and we have rights and I’d rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6
Well said Kaya. I have a G19 and I couldn’t agree with you more
I like the way the Glock 17 fits in my hand.... I do use it as an EDC concealed and all.
I always feel less muzzle flip on the 19, maybe less mass kicking, and more accuracy. Maybe the best solution for bigger hands are the hybrid models 19x or 45, for my small/middle size hands i wish Glock produce a 26x, a 26 barrel and slide on a 19 frame ❤
We love your content mahn
That intro crazy🔥🔥🔥
I carry a Gen3 17 for defense, I was issued with a Gen3 19 for work last year, I can honestly say they shoot the same, it's all up to the shooter, what fits your hand better and how good you shoot each one, I have big hands so the 17 is good for me, 19 was okay. I now have a glock22 Gen3 for work and you'd never believe it but it shoots the same as the 19 and 17 as well
I have a 19 gen5, 43X and a 42,love all of them and carry each one depending on where I’m going and what I’m doing.
I run gen5 19 for conceal carry and I run drills with it. Mines a conceal/duty gun. But have been looking into the 17 for a training gun on my battle belt just to switch it up sometimes. But if you train alot you can be good all the way around. Biggest thing is people need to actually train.
I got a 17 and happy with it. I could be buying different Glocks but in the end I'd rather be spending my money buying ammo! No matter which Glock is better, if no ammo, it won't make any difference!
Great video. I was considering between the 17, 19 and 45. You helped me decide on the 45 simply for the size of the hand grip and that it's closer to the 19 for concealment. Thank you!
The 45 is a 19 slide with a 17 frame. Its pretty much the same thing as the 19x just without the lanyard loop.
A great demonstration about the two guns 👍
Good thing about the 19 is if you're ever out in the wild, you are more likely to find mags for it vs the 17 rd glock 17 mags. Seems like the 15 rd glock 19 mags are laying everywhere
Plus you can fit the 17 mags in a 19 but not the other way around.
@@J.Young808actually thats weird because I can
You can cut part of the grip in the 17
Magazines lying everything if you are in Erangel
I was having the same issue, I’d pinch the CHRIST outta my hand on combat reloads. My 6’4 frame big mitts were swallowing up my G19. I’ve always used the G17 and it’s good to go. The G45 is my EDC now , fits just right. Excellent comfort on concealment and the grip is perfect.
G19x
@@raymondtorres7684 G19X is a very sweet piece. I love the color, it’s pretty much like my G45 with a few additions.
Great video thanks.
Great content!!!! Would have enjoyed it more with the G26 also in the running! There is as much difference between the G17 and G19 as there is between the G 19 and the G26.
I have a G45 and I WON it from a raffle at my local range raffle lol. So it’s true you can actually win a free gun like classic does! I was given a budget of 600$ and could pay for anything extra. They gave me a sheet with almost all the options they make and have a Springfield Hellcat pro already I wanted something bigger so a G45 MOS it was. Also got Ameriglo Bold Night sights from the factory. I’ve added a bunch of custom parts from tungsten guiderod, 4lb striker spring and plunger spring, ghost edge connector and apex trigger kit. Silencer co threaded barrel and extended control. Runs like a dream and no issues at 5k rounds. Got it on Feb 20th.
Great video, thanks! Can you please also compare between glock 17 and s&w m&p9 m2.0?
I personally would just stick with the 17. I have owned and carried both sizes and I personally can’t really feel that much of a difference between the two so I traded the 19 in for another 17. Might as well get the two extra rounds.
You can get 2 extra rounds in a Glock 19 with a Glock 17 magazine!!!!
I just put Glock 17 mag on Glock 19 😂
Owning the Glock 17 I carry it most places, however its harder to conceal. Other than that there are more pros; on the ranch walking through the brush I have accurately made shots on charging feral hogs on multiple occasions. Fortunately, I've never shot at a person but I felt real comfortable making good shots under pressure especially with the knowledge of more ammo if things were to go south.
I have both 17 and 19. The 17 is a Gen 1 that I got back in 1989 and the 19 is a Gen 4. Also have the 43Xmos and my wife has a 42. Great video 👍👍

19 for the win, thanks Kaya!
Winter coming only thing to really conceal a G17 big ol jacket. Feels better in my paws great for forest hikes an property inspection. Summer time go for a smaller firearm.
ive yet ro try the G 19. (3rd gen ), but i have recently tried the G17. (3rd gen ) , i felt the grip a bit too thin for my liking , does the 19 have the same grip width ?
Just got the new 47 and love it. Is my new everyday carry
i've tried both .the 17 fits better in my hand and seems more stable. not as concealable, but it seems better to me because of grip
Great video. Very Informative. I'm leaning toward the 19 because of the size. I didn't know the 17 and 19 were that similar.
Personally (I live in California so I may not matter) I carry the 19 with a spare g17 mag. And have the 17 set up as the bump in the night gun.
Im looking to get my first gun also in california. I was thinking sig 226 for home with g9 external hollow points. For basically very little recoil. Although now thinking about it i should check to make sure the lightweight bullet wont cause cycling issues. But i was between that and a 19 for carry or. Just a 17 for both. Or just a 19 for both and im still deciding
why would u do that. what benefit do u get
The thing I like the most about the 19, is that it can be made into a 26L
I 1st gun g17 gen 4, $550. 2nd was g19 gen 3, 450, conceal them both, always perfer 17rd in both. Just the grip stipulation was different
I own both. I bought the Glock 22 in 1999 and converted it to 9 mm with a Lone Wolf conversion barrel and then to a threaded barrel (9mm). I started carrying concealed in 2012 with a Taurus Millenium G2 which,by the way, likes hot loads and a serious grip for best functionality, to carry concealed. In 2016 I bought a Glock 19 Gen 4, added a stainless steel threaded barrel, an MCarbo trigger, ghost ring tridium sights, and put a hogue grip sleeve on it. I love my 19 and carry it everywhere everyday. I still have my Glock 17/22 and gave my Taurus to my younger brother.
I picked the 19 gen 5 as my first and got the glock 47 when it was released to us citizens and love both and the interchangeability
I've owned my Gen 2 Glock 17 since the 90's. The accuracy and reliability of this gun is second to none. I have literally put thousands of rounds through this over the years and never had a single malfunction - Not even one... People have offered to buy this from me on multiple occasions and I would never part with this gun. I have used it as my daily carry since I bought it - and I conceal carry. No one ever knows that I have it on me. So, the 17 is very concealable. I have shot the 19 as well and there is very little difference, if any.... I have shot many different guns from many different manufacturers. There are many really good guns, but I swear by Glock.
you might be big and tall, i cant conceal a G17, it shows a lot

Thanks for the comparison. Now I know what to buy for my home office, the Gluck 19!
My GLOCK22, GEN3 .40 cal is the perfect gun for me. I prefer something with a bit more knockdown power than a 9mm.
Same.
Have a G19 for winter CCW and G48 for Summer CCW. Not interested in the G17 cause I do have three Berettas now, an M9, an M9A3 and recently a 92S for $350 (with four mags) so no need for another full sized 9mm.
I have the 17 gen 4 and it usually stays on my nightstand with the boom stick!
Glock 19 on my person Glock 17 on my nightstand. Mr Glock you will be missed.🙏
If I could only have one it would be the G19. The G17 is a pretty big gun. The 19 is a better all around gun. Great video sir.
Most seem to find the G17 is just a bit too large for everyday and day-to-day carry. The 19 and 26 seem to be better suited for that role. However, after watching this, I am going to carry my 17 a bit and see how it feels?
@@d7dun1010Sold the 19 and now use the 17 exclusively. The hump sits higher on a 19 making it feel very strange in my hand, plus the 17 has a theoretically larger window of reliability. 17 and 26 would be a good idea.
I just got them both plus 19X and 45 are sweet blasters and my favorite Glocks .
It looked like your 19 had more muzzle rise.. but maybe its angle of camera.. does the mos version of same pistol have more recoil? I shot the 19x and 45 mos it seemed like the 45mos had more felt recoil.. any thoughts
I love that little extra girth in my 17, makes it a little more comfortable in my hands. I tend to open carry, and the only thing I added is a slide assist. Personally, I love it set up that way for basic use.
What state do you live in to open carry? Do you get a lot of surprised reactions?
Probably texas I see it alot
"Beware of the people who have only One gun. They probably know how to use it." I'm a Glock Armorer. And after going through every Glock out there, I've opted for the Glock model 22. This is My personal/professional choice. And with the Rise with each shot of the factory barrel, I've opted to a Double Compensated barrel. Now there's no twist or Jump of it at all and there's a better feed ramp. Now it's not only more accurate and doesn't jump, but now I can use unjacketed rounds, firing pure lead rounds. The safety is my finger and I don't Israeli carry. After all of my military and sheriff's dept training and decades of professional experience, this is my set-up and it works flawlessly.

Loved this video, Exellent and informative review,,i have a glock gen 5 model 17, with nite sites, absolutely great gun, its my open carry( which i rarely do) and my nite time home defense gun, but i also have a FNH FN 9S, with note sites, which is very similar to a glock 19, but with full ambidextrous controls, and has 17 round clips, and to be honest, feels and shoots better than a glock 19( not knocking the 19, ive had that gun before, and someday again, great gun) but the FN9 could very well( if i could only have one gun) be my first choice) but heck, i cant live without having a Glock in my life because to me,my opinion, they are just the best all around Handguns in the world..They Just Work..Period
On duty and off duty I carry 17. Amazing pistol. And that's from a guy who carried Sig 226 for seven years and then .40 with DAK trigger for eight years.
I have the Glock Gen3 19 9mm and I like the Glock 19 9mm.
17 for duty, 19 for self protection....19x for everything 😂
Just like the 48 & 43 swap slides boom 43x. That's what I did with my 48 & 43.
What I want is a Glock 46, with a Glock 19 size. Rotating barrel operation is absolutely the future, and the industry needs to embrace it.
I like the 17 fits better in my hand and as far a carry goes I live in Canada and we are not allow to carry lol But all and all Glock makes a very good product. Love the videos
I’m curious as to what the difference between the two muzzle velocities would be?
I prefer the Goldilocks approach here: the G17 is too big but has great capacity, and the G19 has great size but too small capacity, so I went with the just right G45. And for those who like to think outside the box, I also got an IWI Masada, virtually identical to the G45 in size, weight, shape, capacity & reliability, but only about half the cost of the G45 MOS.
Use a 17 mag in the 19
2 rounds? Come on!!!
The 17 is not too big at least for me that is. I use to think it was until I started conceal carrying it and realized it's not too much of a big deal. I'd rather have the extra benefits of a full size handgun then a compact. And if I have to compromise I'll take the 19x/45

Why didn't you just mention the Glock 45. It has a 19 slide and a 17 frame? Best of both worlds
Rip Mr Glock , the hood love you
In the Illinois AWB era I find myself leaning towards a G19, I own 2 G17’s one of them an MOS, but with the magazine limits… 15 rds ok, 17 rds is a felony. Other complication is PCC’s but that is another issue.
It's not a felony. It's a $1,000 petty offense. But with that said , I don't feel like paying $1,000 to carry a 17 Rd mag. I found some 15 Rd Glock 17 mags because I have big gorilla hands and I shoot a 17 better.
I have a gen 5 19 and 34 and a gen 3 17. I pretty much only use the 19 and 34 anymore.
Glock 45 is the best way to go! Best of both worlds. I love mine.
looking for a tactical weapon with MOS so I guess I'm leaning toward a model 17 gen5 MOS
I want to point out that the weapon safety and muzzle awareness in this video is IMMACULATE
I like the Glock 17 for self defense
I really wish someone would make a GLOCK clone that has an amazing hammer fired trigger. I love my CZs, and I love my Glocks, I love my 1911s/2011s, but theres something about the aesthetics of Glocks that I find appealing. I would love to see something thats like obviously a Glock, just with an amazing trigger.
Then it wouldn't be a Glock
That's essentially what a CZ P07 is. It's a polymer 9mm that is hammer fired. Roughly the same size as the Glock 19. 15 round mags. It will also take the larger 19 and 21 round mags of the P09.
@micahweeks9459 it's similar though not the same. the slide is inset into the frame and it doesn't take glock mags. other than that, yeah, they are very similar. I intend on buying one when I can. I limit myself to 1 gun/month and I just bought a browning 1911-22
FMK is pretty close to the Glock 19
