I don't believe a Belief system/religion made him where he is today but it mostly his exercise regime, amateur pedigree and belief in himself to be fair.
Religion isn’t what makes him a boxer. It makes him discipline which in return helps him to be a better boxer. Top sportsman need to be extremely disciplined person. You can achieve that without a faith but having faith makes it easier for you.

Bivol got SERIOUSLY rocked against Smith Jr. People are saying the punch was after the bell BUT they both threw a punch at the same time we are talking milliseconds here at the end of the round. Bivol’s punch MISSED went over Smith’s head and Smith connected on Bivol’s temple. Bivol was stunned, he had to hang on to the top rope to get back to his corner on jelly legs.
