The young boy represents all those people who just woke up being caught up in a bizarre world, and you have no choice but to live in the harsh reality. Imagine being born just for you to know that there are humans who doesn't have hearts. Why can't this world be a great place to live for everyone. I hope we could still fix this mess but I know it's impossible. So we'll definitely go down, I feel terrible for all the good people who don't deserve this.

I think it’s quite a bit deeper than that. They aren’t pretending to be monsters, they’ve allowed the world around them to turn them, to change them into real monsters who do horrible things to others and themselves. The ending shows that deep down within that monster, still lives a good and decent human that can come forth under the right conditions.

My interpretation for the ending is that the boy is not literally dead, but found that despite he still lives, he is dead inside from all the bs society put him through. And the "ghosts" are his friends or family that helped him out to see that even all the thugs are just people pushed to the limits, but he was so depressed that even people who showed basic kindness appeared like angels to him. Regarding the "evil" silhouette at the end there, I think it's not real, it's just the mental image the boy created in his own head, it's the way he sees all people, as monsters, it's a product of his own pessimistic mind. That's why when it disintegrates, it doesn't reveal a person behind it but just... disappears. Because he now sees that people are not monsters by nature.

Honestly i thing Steve Cutts videos are usually pretentious, but something about this one. It stuck with me years after watching it the first time. I guess the combination of the visuals and the audio makes such a dizzy surreal aesthetic. The fact i come from a slavic city similar to the one shown here really helps me immerse myself in this. This honestly is a piece of art

I like to interpret that at the end there (after finding out he was dead and meeting the ghosts of those who had died through similar reasons) the ghosts, or at least on his way into the afterlife... he saw or was shown, that the scary monsters are actually people with 'dirt and corruption on them' being almost influenced or egged on by some dark entity that we saw at the end (the one who didn't change, there was clearly something special and non-human about him).... interpret this dark entity as you will, but my personal thoughts pin him as some form of pure evil (perhaps the devil?). Ah well, that's just my 2 cents. Goodnight.

Very cool @Lee K. ´s interpretation. I think the boy symbolizes good people, people without eyes represent human weakness, greed, corruption violence and stuff. The dead kid represents the oppression of good people and the spirits represent the past, which influences better days. One day all the "evil" in the world will fade away by turning its back on us.

Did you notice how the homeless man has also had normal eyes like the boy? Eyes are often seen as a mirror of your soul, so while most people where soulless, this kid and this man weren't. Maybe the end represents that together we can make this world "soulfull" again, but thats just a guess

well, what i can tell about the video is that in the night sort of our "inner demons" come out, and sadly this guy encountered a group of them. I can really tell why the ghosts clear everyones demons, but as they get wiped out you can see they are people too, with problems, feelings, etc. And i will asume that the last "demon" was the character's one. Since he found peace now, he had a last glance to his devilish side.

I thought it was the other way around. And the light is not the sun, but rather representing some form of wisdom or knowledge. The same way as you say "it shines light on the murder" for example meaning it shows you whats going on. Here it just means that when you understand why everyone is acting as they do you realize that they are not monsters, but normal people just like you. Only this one guy at the end doesn't seem to hol to the same standard. He might represent the pure evil part of society.
