🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

  • I'm so happy to have been part of the Lebanese series!! I am indeed cycling across Africa, and met Sonny by coincidence in Ethiopia 3 hours before his flight to Lebanon. Somehow I ended up there co-hosting two episodes and sharing my passion for Lebanese food and stories from my country that I believe matter! I flew back to Ethiopia when the shoot finished, to keep cycling :)

    • Watched a couple of journey but the way you handle the Sudanese episode where you looked for Arque was terrible at some point you said I don’t mind jeopardising the ppls identity and you respond “ they are in war” content hunger scavengers. You have no respect for local ppl. Don’t feel entitled just because you are tourist may be you can learn to be or two things from Sonny how he approach people.

Isn't that amazing. I find it really funny, so many of us. Never planning something. Never having that on our thought. Yet there it is at our fingertips. And then under our feet. Such a beautiful thing.. What a blessing. What a treasure.. and something to share, food. It's what binds us together.. ❤

  • A lot of middle eastern countries have fantastic people and food and are victims of government corruption. I worked at a Lebanese restaurant in New England 30 years ago as a dishwasher at 17 years old. The family paid for my college books in my 1st year of school.

    • that's this world. why can people only "see" such a small portion of what's going on (aka act like one place is suffering "more" than another, when it's not about gauging who is going through more pain or less, it's about acknowledging, we're all going through PAIN and in the SAME BOAT!) because my friend, that's this entire world. two of the most corrupt things in this world are "governments" and "religion" (both divide people, n both have extremists that do very silly things to other "humans" for those said "causes") the more PEOPLE and this WORLD, trust/rely/use LESS of them both, you will see how much "better" this world will be. facts. as long as there is a "government" and/or a "religion" in any country, there will always be people suffering because of it/them.

  • The way I was on the edge of my seat as a South African...This was so interesting because the history is interesting and I think we can relate as South Africans about their resilience but they keep pushing everyday. Unique culture.

  • Sonny I gotta give it to ya, you're slowy but surely filling the gap that Anthony Bourdain left in the travel world... I catch quotes from you that whole-heartedly remind me of something he would utter off the cuff, and you got through similar ventures for nothing but the pursuit of good food and times (albeit a bit less alcohol is involved).
