Did you know Grian happens to have the "All Kelp" permit? Also, did you know you can eat dried kelp? If ever there was a point to be made, it's by selling dried kelp (specifically, not the raw or bundled stuff). Also as far as the honey incident is concerned, SmallishBeans also seems to have a "Glow Berries" permit (in addition to the "Honey & Slime" permit) - isn't that a food as well? ;-)

I think Joel's permit says honey blocks and slime blocks. Keralis has the Candles and Honeycomb permits. Grian had Kelp but I think it says Kelp and Kelp Blocks and nothing about dried Kelp as it's a food. Idk there are a few permits that go against another, the All Foods permit has a handful of items that technically fall under other people's permits but are technically a saturation giving edible item thus part of ALL the Foods permit. Honestly I'm betting these overlaps weren't an unintentional oversight by Grian but rather cleverly hidden story points for the future.

You should build a courthouse and sue the permit office. You could involve all the hermits as judge, jury, lawyers, witnesses, etc. Could be a fun twist to the civil war event as it could involve all the hermits and would nicely tie in the whole permit theme of the season
I know it sounds boring but you have to remember that you can make up whatever laws that you want to.
Comment at 7mins in: xB is right with the honey being food (and other mob drops). They all contribute to the advancement "A Balanced Diet", which means they are food. Also yes, that includes glow berries, tropical fish, pufferfish, and poisonous potatoes
A diet consists of drinks as well. A honey bottle is like a bottle of water, which you drink. It is not a food
Also chorus fruit and dried kelp.
Don't forget the milk buckets.. those are also drinkable.

To be fair, though, Honey is more of a drink, the way a bucket of milk is, and can be consumed in a way that does not recover any hunger. Plus... it is served in a bottle, and I do not have the mental flexibility to use the phrase "eat a bottle of"; regardless of what is in the bottle it is being drunk.

well no, keralis is selling honey bottles under the all food permit with xb's permission, he doesn't have a sperate permit for them.
You can sell milk too. Suspicious stew. Potions... I bet Pearl would make a deal with you for the flowers for the sus stew.
Potions are definitely not food, so I would stick to pupil poppers and pufferfish.
The difference between food and drink is relative to viscosity AFAIK. You eat honey, you drink milk, you eat stew, you drink a potion.
Interviewer xB is one of the best miniseries ever. Honestly you could start a podcast where each episode stars a Hermit and it would be a massive success.
Imagine if he built a podcast studio room in his base and did an hour long episode sitting with each hermit in-game discussing hermitcraft history and content creator stuff. Would be amazing.

As much as grian doesn’t want to get involved here there is genuinely a rule about not selling things the other hermits sell so we are going to need clarification what is considered food because There is a kelp permit, a honey permit, a glow berry permit, a chorus fruit permit…. If you are allowed to sell what other hermits can’t then we need an understanding because his permit covers an insane amount of other permits and because of that he is in a position that was meant to be removed from the shopping district… this situation is indeed going to need a grian to deal with as much as he doesn’t want to… 🤷♀️
Or just do it and have Grian solve the problem.

The permit definitely needs a more definite collection of what it encompasses. BUT......Honey is defined as a food. Its viscosity makes it a semi solid food, this is a fact and so "all the foods" includes the consumable 'honey'.

Ah yes, it's not even been a week since the two were hired as the server's police force and they're already going on a WILD power trip, fining innocent people left and right. Enforcement agents overjumping for sure! I swear, Grian's gonna be the one starting yet another war this season, except for _ALL_ the wrong reasons! After all, a lousy government is just as surefire of a way to a conflict as a rebellion!

You also ingest potions, water, chorus fruit, and glow berries. If it doesn’t have a separate permit then it is fine but honey does have a separate permit just like glow berries, and potions. Like I get this is just for content but to be fair honey should not have been in the shop.

I think Joe's answer to the "what to add to Minecraft" question was the best.
You should market the spider eyes and rotten meat as different foods like grapes or cherries and jerky or pemmican. Also, I know both you and Beef are closer to vanilla purists for your Hermitcraft videos but last season Scar's custom food textures were really popular.

ironically, pearl owns chorus fruit permit, which conflicts with all food as well.
The one thing i would add to minecraft: mobs that react with the Crafting Table... Villager- makes 1 (game wide) Hero. The Hero Villager would be able to remove or build and edit builds. illager- makes 1 (game wide) Foe. The illager Foe hunts players constantly, wrecks builds, and removes light sources. Piglin- makes 1 (game wide) Piglin King... One King to rule them all! He thinks he owns ALL THE GOLD. His Piglins collect it for him.

Just late the Honey area as a Keralis stand, not a "pop-up" but an additional area from his regular store front. No violation there. If they say there needs to be posted permit that becomes a Grian problem at the permit office
If you really want to double down on the POE POE, you should get a vendor contract with Cleo. Haybales are food for llamas. All the food. Also, consider: seeds for parrots and chickens, torch flower seeds for sniffers, cactus for camels, sea grass for turtles, wheat for goats, cows, and sheep, buckets of tropical fish for axolotls, etc. (Not sure how many of these would need vendor contracts.) ALL the FOOD.

The wiki defines food as anything that restores hunger and saturation. Youre golden.

@@hackercow211There’s one for “Honey and Slime Blocks” but there’s a good argument that, like whether “sandstone” is under the “sand” or “stone” permit, the way they’re written is ambiguous enough that it could fit under either (or both) permit(s). Definitely ambiguous enough to give xB and Beef an excuse to make it a problem for the POE POE.
Food = anything with nutritive value that you ingest. Does not specify that your have to chew it.

I just saw Scar's episode and Grian said honey was covered in a seperate permit, and is considered it's own thing. What you do about that is your own decision.

XB, you can sell potions, you can eat(drink) potions
That might be a bit on the other side of the line. Honey is listed on the Minecraft wiki, it restores as much hunger as golden carrots, but only as much saturation as some other bad foods. Potions are consumable, but they don't restore hunger or saturation.
The fact that Iskall started the Civil War makes it the best answer.

I agree with your interpretation of the permits. My argument is that we established that permits can overlap with the joker permit that could become any other permit of False's choice regardless of if that permit is already taken or not and that a possible consequence of not stocking your shop was to put out duplicate permits. But I'm all for the incoming Shopping Wars content.

I like Iskall’s point with the Armor trims. I think there should be some more utility with them. Just being an aesthetic change makes many casual players opt out from collecting them. They should add a +/- effect with the trims based on where they’re found and the utility they’re given.

If you have to get your sustenance through a liquid, it's still food. For instance, some patients use a G-Tube to get their dietary necessity. They don't chew anything and it doesn't even go in their mouth. Still food though.

The honey thing I think the Poe Poe is confused. I don't think they're aware the honey stand is Keralis'. That said, I still think all foods should include honey but I think Keralis just needs to put his permit in the Honey Stand.

While it is a food, there is a permit for honey bottles. As with other permits, my view is specifics overrule general permits.

30:26 In Portuguese, we have two words that can be translated to drink, "beber" and "tomar" (the second one has many meanings depending on context). Both are used for beverages, but for honey and soups, generally people use "tomar".
The POE POE is right: in rules, including for example CCGs, the specific supercedes the general. If you have a card that affects "everyone" but a card says it's immune to that first card, it's immune. Since the server decided that honey was its own permit, this specific supercedes your general permit.

ALL the food means ALLLLL the foods... Technically even though Joel jas the permit for Glow Berries, Half Foods should be allowed to also sell Glow Berries as they ARE food. Spider eyes, rotten flesh and even poisonous potatos and puffer fish are also considered food. For one they all add to the Balanced Diet advancement as well as giving Saturation (anything that adds to the hunger bar or adds beyond max to keep you "full" longer). This would exclude a few "consumables" like potions, chorus fruit, and even Milk as it doesnt give saturation but instead acts as an effect cleanse ability.

Point of clarification for thlse stating either that Joel had the honey permit or that keralis needs to post his permit... Joel only has honey and slime BLOCK permit. Not honey bottles. Keralis' permit is for candles and bees wax not honey bottles. The deal made between XB and papa K is from a by product of having bee farms. Honestly, the POE POE is incorrect. Half Foods (which still needs a sign, btw) is where you buy ALL the food and this should include any and all food items even if there is a single permit available for that item because in most cases an item has more uses than just food. Interestingly, it also should include mushrooms and that will cause a problem with that permit office government guy!!! ALL the Food = isn't specific to player foods...could/should also include all food for animals as well. Keep up the good fight XB. We are here for you 😉

No no, you definitely have a point there, I don't think of honey as being something you drink. I consider it a food as well. The only way I consider it a drink if if you add a liquid to it, like tea, or lemon juice etc. Se with yogurt kinda. It's definitely not a drink unless you add milk or something to make it more liquidy.
All you need to do is get Keralis to put his honey permit up as he should have done originally and your problem goes away!

I would argue that honey is a liquid, they should’ve been more specific about solid food if that’s what they meant. I also think the poe poe are doing horribly, no direct consequence, no option to fight it (in the book), and if they just say “2 business days”, the recipient will not know when those days have started.
