Terry Pratchett once said: "Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time", but now we've got artificial stupidity! How will we cope?!?!?!?
Oh! nice to find a fan in a Zed video :D
Ah. A man of culture I see.
So cultured!

Don't forget his brief dabbling as a Mad Scientist during Season 8... his Wool Wall was one of the most amazing and wonky wool farms I have ever seen, and I have been playing since 1.0 release so I've seen a lot of sheep farm iterations over the years.

4:31 love the bdubs height "joke" there We know its not a joke ❤
Poor little Bdubs, people always making fun of him
He may be a little guy but he has a big heart. 😊
"Hey, little guy"
@piece26047 and a big smile
I’m sorry, what?! What are we doing to the sheep?? 😳
He was almost Welsh for a moment...[]
No matter how family friendly the server is that would end up on a horn, had he finished the sentence.
@@JTtheNinja I call Cawl of that comment!
@@eduarddlabola9688 I mean, it still could end up on a horn as it is anyway.
They've been baa-d and need to be whacked
"bang the sheep", "what color is the baby?" This episode is full of very dangerous sentences
"I've got to turn the sheep on."
"You're hoeing me to death"
“Maybe Pinky is more interested in doing it.” “...so now, you’re naked! Look at you, that’s perfect!"
Don't forget being showed in slime balls and they just keep coming.
Whenever you explain the redstone I like to nod along and trick myself into thinking that I’m understanding a single word of it
Nods along while reading your comment.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Still, I pick up just enough each time to feel like I could actually build something. (I don't, but I feel like I could.)
To be fair redstone is a wonky learning curve but once you understand the basic components and how they can interact with eachother redstone is "really quite simple" as Mr Mumbo of the Jumbo would say.
Ahaha same here
Me too
What a great combo, with mumbo's balls and zedaph's rods together they'll make the hottest magma shop on the server
oh god
The magma block reminds me of flaming hot Cheetos or takis snacks for some reason. Not something that should ever be eaten.
...
oh no...
what the hell did you unleash
4:29 “Exactly Bdub’s height” had me rolling with laughter.
This game is nothing short of shear genius
Zed always cuts straight to the chase!
Can't believe ewe went there!
These puns are baad.
Puns, you have goat to be kidding me.
"We should use the proper adjectives!" XD I hope cub steals that for a horn.
Oh I thought it was a 50/50 on what color baby sheep are. You learn something new every day
(I could be wrong and he just got lucky)
According to the wiki, you're correct and Zedaph got lucky. Though, the real fun begins when breeding two color-compatible sheep. Meaning, a black sheep and a white sheep make a gray sheep.
@@Leblribrbrrq You know... I never thought about how strange it is that dying the sheep apparently changes their genetics.
@@lasercraft32it makes me think of the scaremongering people who are always like 'if you eat this , it has these chemicals and it changes your genes!!’ Maybe they are right in the case of Minecraft sheep 😂
@@Leblribrbrrq it's possible one of their mods changes the vanilla behaviour. I know they had a mod that allowed re-dying things for instance.
Fun random fact for y'all, Zed's subtitles are done by someone with the name Dot_Dot_Dash, in morse code dot-dot-dash is code for the letter U, or for this episode, EWE (the name for female sheep). An obscure and dumb chain of logic? Certainly. Kinda satisfying to know? I like to think so!
That sheep was definitely looking at me
Zed: "Why aren't my shears working?" Sheep: they're not?
“A-good a-baa!” Ah! All the puns! Love it!
Getting snowcone and pinky to the second floor was quite the facepalm lol Watching the elevator and blocking up while the set of stairs is in frame cracked me up
Stairs: "why am I even here?"
The laughter meter was high on this one. All the little one liners just make me so happy 😁 and of course the quick cuts help the delivery. This season's gamifying idea is perfect! Keep em comin'
Thank you for expressing precisely my same appreciation for Zedaph! Wit and pun galore 😝
best idea I can come up with might actually be hard to track - trying to get ALL the sheep sheered as quick as possible. you win when they're all wool-less. combination of luck and skill! buuuut you gotta peek in the holes to make sure they're all actually waxed.
He could rig up the ending to push all the sheep up when the game is over if he put in a timer. He would then win based on if he got them all instead of how fast.
What if sheep grows its wool back during a game?
@@igorigor5342part of the challenge ;)
Glad you saw Bdub's beauty of a base!
Sadly looks like the hopes, dreams and desires for the dig down were a little to the left today. The shear-a-sheep game was really fun, I think for a single player it just needs to be quicker or maybe a wave of them all popping up? Something to get them moving quick. Maybe harder if they only can shear a certain colour when it's faster, too. Lose points for shearing the wrong colour?
2:00 that deserves to be a horn lol :3
9:10 BDubs reminds me so much of that story of Jeff Goldblum, where at a party to everyone he was introduced to he clapped his hands and said "oh, of course!" BDubs just makes everyone seem like the most important person in the room in the funniest way. Bless him
I am waiting for the "huh! I got sheep out of my ears!" horn
Servers calculate minecart locations more accurately than player positions, so if you want to make it work 100% of the time you could modify the system to use minecarts/boats that get launched instead of
Always a good day when it’s a Zedaph day
30:18 Someone should totally make a datapack that lets you shear players heads and it creates a transparent playerhead with just the outer layer from the sheared player (hair, sunglasses, etc). Then the sheared player would temporarily render without that outer layer until it "grows back" after a minute or so. They could always wear their sheared bits as a hat, or some other player could do the same, or two players could swap! It would lead to some pretty crazy hijinks!
10:55 that is the funniest thing I have ever seen in minecraft, LMAO!
My arms fell off
I love how Zed completely ignored the staircase in favor of dangling the sheep up to the platform
Hearing "sheepie" so much is making me smile. Lil shweepea sheepies
"I've got a sheep coming out my ears" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sheep tormenter.
Zedaph: "Something-something and gates... never zero, never four..." My brain: FIVE IS RIGHT OUT!
Zedaph plays Minecraft in such a unique and amazing way and I love it
Singleplayer version: ideas 1. Easier to implement: reuse same timer from multiplayer, score is determined by amount of wool gathered, but with one color (ie whichever one you currently need in the shop) worth more points than the other. 2. Harder: modify timer to make this fair, but the farm runs continuously. You have a fixed number of lives (3?) and lose a life if you don’t shear a sheep when one pops up, and your score is determined by the wool collected before you lose that last life. Maybe with the different colors worth different points, as mentioned in 1.
Possible single player option: A lever turns the system on and off from the sheep room and the timer adds an item to a chest for every time the sheep pop up. The aim of the game is to shear a the sheep in the least number of pops.
loll zed dangling the sheep off the elevator when theres a staircase three blocks to the right is a perfect visual representation of the whole season tbh
8:26 For the record, Bdubs isn't *that* bad at the game that he's missing his swings at point-blank range against a stationary player-sized target. I'm pretty sure he was 'missing' because you get 5 seconds of damage invulnerability when you respawn (or log in!). 11:35 I'm pretty sure you could solve the bumpy floor by making the whole thing out of walls, fence posts, or adding snow layers, to get it to a consistent 1.5 blocks. Which would totally ruin the aesthetic, but it is *a thing you could do.*
Hmm, I wonder if you could put carpet on top of the fence posts? Carpet seems to let the fences count as 1 block high for players so it might work to level things, I'm just not sure if they'd pop off when the sheep bounce up and down? Yellow carpet would fit in. It would also prevent players from "cheating" by seeing which sheep are in which hole before they pop up, so they'd have to remember where there sheep are.
@@TheDelinear This is exactly what I thought would be a great solution.
It doesn’t lower the height of the fence, just gives you something to hop up on beside the fence since the fence does not take up the whole block. A simple way to prove this is try putting a fence with only two blocks of clearance above it and put a carpet on it. You will be able to jump up onto the carpet but not walk over the fence without crouching. Thus it would not solve the bump problem with the walls.
Shop idea for Blaze rods and magma blocks: "Hot Stuff" themed after a burlesque dance club. Make the "stage" out of magma blocks and possibly hire Cleo to do some armor stands dancing around a few poles made of blaze rods? Payment should be in the form of hoppers under the stage. When people toss diamonds onto the stage, it will dispense either magma blocks or blaze rods based on how many diamonds were collected. Added fun if it's random which they get (neither will likely sell a ton, but this way it will force people to buy a mix of both whenever they come by).
20:30 so with this design, you'll never have an output of row 1 and row 2 turning on. it'll only be 1 & 3, 1 & 4, 2 & 3, or 2 & 4. because the options are set at either 1 or 2, and either 3 or 4. good enough for a simple minigame, and beyond my creativity level for sure :D, but it does limit the output a little. could be cause for some strategic planning
It was real rough watching you struggle with getting the sheep up there with the staircase right next to you the entire time 😂
As a 2 player game, you could also award more points for pink than yellow, and both players are aiming for all the sheep. For single player, I think sheep could get locked out of the randomizer, and eventually all the sheep stop popping up
As I was watching this I had a brilliant thought... you can dye sheep with a dispenser! This could add some nice randomization into the game. For a single player - you could have red and blue. You want to collect the blue and avoid the red. Then just use a timer a sound prompts like Mumbo mentioned. The dispensers can help vary the sheeps color so people aren't camping the same spots.
Someone call cub the horn business is gonna profit really well from the first 3 minutes alone
Maybe putting slabs (possibly bamboo slabs to make it blend in) on top of the hay bales could get rid of the bumping issue (I mean that is if it is an issue and not a feature lol)
For single player whack a sheep: Idea 1: have barrels for wool deposits with a comparator to detect a certain wool level and a dropper timer for a time trial. Sort of a how many items did it take you to get 16 pink 16 yellow (avg 2 wool per sheep) in the correct barrels. You could even make a leader Baaa-graph. Idea 2: quick draw. Use a faster clock with a dropper timer and a kill switch. Sheer all sheep as fast as you can while they pop up and down wildly then hit the switch when all sheep are sheered. Then have a leader Baaard. A sheep statue made of pink and yellow wool with the player head of the current leader amd a sign name tag with the time to beat.
The repeaters placed at 20:14 need to be lowered by one block to have the desired effect. As it is, the leftmost randomiser is activated on every pulse. The left triggers independent of the right 1/4 of the time, while both trigger 3/4 of the time.
For the single player version, you could still only collect one colour but shorten the time the sheep pop up for so it’s more fast paced and make it so every wool block of the wrong colour counts against your score, maybe -2 for wrong and +1 for the right? Love the content, keep it up!
I'm pretty sure minecart movement is calculated server-side, so maybe if you redesigned the sticky kicky to make you ride a minecart, it'd be reliable
Bdubs being so great at building- his forests look like they came straight out of modded- And as always- zed is super fun to watch. Always having crazy cool ideas to make minecraft less mondaine. I know i personally dont like playing minecraft for too long cuz it gets too repetitive and- boring (?) But zed makes it seem so cool and interesting and new! So fun!
Zed you do a very good job of explaining the redstone! It’s very helpful, thank you!
Love your quirkyness it never fails to bring a smile to my face ^^. Expetialy today after a 5 hour exam.
A simple way to make it a single-player game is to play with the same timer as 2 players, then check how many of each you have and press a button to randomly dispence what colour wins. If you have more of that colour, you win! Random chance of winning no skill required, lol.
Now I just imagine a group of executives signing a multi-million contract and then going to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate playing whack-a-mole 😂
This comment is so underrated, I can’t stop laughing at this!
The sticky kicky would work on the server if you increased the delay between up and outward, right? Lag's the issue isn't it? The two vectors are getting mangled right, so, increasing their seperation a bit should help, I expect.
Really love how much you colab! Might need more Mumbo and Zed. Yall have really complimentary comedy.
Something I didn't know baby zombies did was ride cows. I saw one jump on a cow and ride it. Not a baby cow, it was an adult cow. It might be easier if a baby zombie was in a fenced in area with a bunch of cows. That's how I did it by accident.
"He doesn't realize that he can jump out... because he's dumb, haha" - Zedaph 2024
The single player game could have a quota, where if you don’t meet it, all of the wool gets burned. OR maybe you need to match the number of pink wool to yellow wool.
22:32 If only gem knew... That Scar was thinking about doing Redstone because all of the Redstoners have been doing building this season.
ah, Zedaph... Always such a pleasure watching your videos. I quite envy you creativity I must say. For the sheeps games I think it comes down to the number of times they pop up. Build a etho hopper clock and swap one of the hoppers for a droper and you get a neat counter. You could have two buttons, for different difficulty level. In single player, you have to select a colour at random before you start and only shear that color. I would also suggest a lever to raise all the sheep so you can check how many are sheared or if they all regrew wool.
this is off topic but I love the attention to detail of including captions on your videos, they really help me understand and enjoy the video better!
Zed completely missed out on calling it "Whack a Wool" ;-; still great video
You should ask Grian about reviving the whole "take Mumbo's mustache away" thing. I'm willing to bet he'd be into it.
It could be the Permit Office po-po punishment for never having any item frames in stock at his shop XD
I have, never in my life, understood what and gates were actually useful for until this 15:38 moment.
17:00 watching this and realizing that Zedaph just created a k-map within minecraft. satisfying
Well, that was a sheariously delightful episode! Ewe really outdid yourself this time D
*facepalm intensifies*
This minigame would be an awesome attraction at the wool street you should show this to contraption to the other members of the wool collective
An idea for both the timer and the single player aspect could be to make the timer jukebox based. You could add a chest that gets blocked when time runs out where the wool needs to be stored to count, so players need to listen to the music to know when to stop sheering and bank their points.
The grid Redstone is genius! super simple and elegant! this inspired me to make a disco floor for my minecraft cyberpunk city.
maybe a single player version could work by beating the last highest score, and you put the wool in a chest after every run so it counts it! Great work Z, keep it up!
Bro casually explaining Physics Logic gates like it's a redstone mechanic
This game is hilarious and genius at the same time ☺ an extra row of sheep could possibly prevent too many sheered sheep popping up, but if this is just meant for laughs I'm not sure we need more optimization 😂😂😂
Zed's content is so good I haven't missed a season 10 episode. Not even trying for the clean sweep, its just happening.
Hotter than Hotcakes is a great name for the shop
ZED! brilliant idea (maybe) use all pink wood on your elevators and any blue blocks of your choice for the floor to make the ravine floor look like a river with lotus flowers
For a solo mode I'd try the following: Set up some calibrated sculk sensors either below or above the sheep, encase in wool so they only hear one sheep each and set up to only react to the player interacting with them (signal strength 6). Then start the game with a button, have a timer run, and once all the sheep have been sheered once, the game turns off and you get your score.
That's pretty clever. I (and apparently everyone else) was only thinking of a high score system, but this way there's a memory element too, since you'd have to remember which sheep you still need to sheer to be the most efficient.
The singleplayer game: You could place a prediction on which colour wins randomly and then sheer as many as possible in a given time frame and then after the game you compare it to the random predicition and see if the prediction machine was accurate
For a single player version of wax the sleep you could do it where one color is minus point and the other is plus point put on a pumpkin or have something block the player vison. Or have a randomizer throw out a piece of wool after to decide what would take away points and have the game on a time…. So basically trying to get as much wool as possible then a machine will tell you what wool is good add your points up and try to get higher scores each time!!! 30:31
Ok, single player rules: You have a counter for how many pop-ups you get (let's say 10) and try to get as much wool as possible in the "time limit". Could also be fun to have 2 sheep be a third color worth bonus points. Of course both of these ideas work for 2 player as well. The real tricky part would be to shuffle the sheep between rounds. Figure that out and you'll have a viral video on your hands.
If it were larger, you would stand a better chance of an unshorn sheep or two always available. However, that may be impractical. Alternatively, increase the delay between popups, or reduce the time they are able to be shorn each popup. Ideally, the time between popups is randomized from popup to popup, adding to the stress/tension.
You should call the game Wack-a-wool XD
Zed uploading on my birthday is the best gift
A good challenge for the sheep-pop-shearing game could be having to submit X amount of wool in the limited time the game runs. Could possibly work for both single- and multiplayer! 🐑🐑🐑
i am crying at the zed shulker you made. when you made it wave i had to pause the video to laugh
You could actually call it “Hot Cakes” and put cakes on top of magma blocks 😂
Pink and Yellow are the best Starburst colors!
zed you should make a landing pad for the kicky sticky that launches you back up
When watching that Bdubs section I thought of a really weird idea, what if there was some way to give yourself some insane amount of resistance, then you can ask someone to help get your head and they would loose their minds trying to kill you.
for single player, maybe a green light red light situation? sense it with a sculk sensor with wool pushed over it for the green light, with sound queues for each so you can tell which you're on. if the sensor detects shearing it counts up to three. if you got the third shear then the game ends and you can't shear any more sheep until the others regrow
every time i watch zedaph do redstone my brain expands 50%. my skull is running out of room
2:00 Cub, make this a horn! lmaoo
I will just say that it would be really funny if you sold wool on the shopping district through this minigame.
The wolf hunting experience!
hey zed, great episode as always, a simple way to make the sheep game single play is to say the coloured wool are 2 different points like one point for yellow and 2 points for pink. so each time you play you would have to try beat your PB or have a small score board for the other hermits to post their so to try and beat. if you wanted to do more redstone you could have a deposit box for the collected wool that goes through a filter system into a counter which could be shown by a redstone lamp counter or represented but the amount of item in a chest or barrel.the wool could then be sent to your storage area
I didn't quite realise I say the outro in my head as he says it until the "baah" in a-good-a-bye caught me by surprise
You should put carpet on top of those fences, that would fix bumps
no it wouldn’t
Bdubs making "Nearly-Headless Zed" lol
BDubs height got me REAL good xD
That not so subtle dig at Bdubs. LOL
died at the And gate joke. fantastic 10/10
How you started laying out the row & columns with levers had me thinking it was Battleship
Looking at that and gate array all i could think was a hermit battleship minigame and zed seems like hed be 1 of the best hermits to design such a game
