Cars drive by tornadoes tearing across Texas and Nebraska
A tornado emergency was declared in parts of Nebraska as damaging twisters threatened populated areas. Severe weather was forecast tonight and throughout the weekend, with tens of millions at risk in parts of the Plains and Midwest. NBC News' Jesse Kirsch reports.

I had a driver impaled by a mile marker. Please DO NOT DO that
I’ve seen this comment before on other videos from other people. If it’s true then apologies for questioning you but if it’s not why say it? Attention perhaps?
@@SamA-nj7yr it is VERY true. I also had a woman who was decapitated by a piece of aluminum we had to hunt for her head. Do not drive in tornadoes. Rocks become bullets.
These are storm chasers. They know the risk…
You had a driver impaled? That wasn't very nice of you.
@digitalpalmtrees well hey, you've heard of road rage. ROTFLMAO
Driving while a tornado is on the ground isn't safe!
A lot of people’s instincts are to flee from it but unfortunately judging the direction it is going can be difficult for the average person and it some cases even to experts like with the El Reno tornado. Not to mention that tornadoes can unexpectedly change directions
the screamer with the camera didn't care.
Welcome to America, bub.
What most people don't realize is even though the cloud formation is not touching the ground the vortex could already be on the ground with invisible winds. Another thing that people don't realize is ? a tornado can happen in any state at anytime of the year even in large cities.
Just like the ocean, the power of mother nature is beyond comprehension.
I hope the truck driver is okay
the screamer with the camera didn't care
Yeah right don’t stop to check on anyone.
I was wondering if he was even going to checc and make sure nobody was in there but I guess the tornado was more important 🤷🏿♂️
They did stop beside the truck but the video was cut after that scene. I hope they went out and checked on the truck's driver.
My heart stops when I see a big rig flipped over. As a truck driver myself, I just could not imagine.
The truck driver was okay and just sitting in his rig btw
@@Wulfstan1938Good to hear.
I hear ya. I've been loading out of Denison TX to Mesa AZ. I'm so thankful I'm in between runs. YIKES Be safe Brother!
Did anyone stop and check on him?
I’m pretty sure a 4 wheeler is more likely to get you but I hear even straight line winds can be spooky
As someone who does search and rescue after disasters, DO NOT DO THAT. Take it SERIOUSLY. The debris fields from tornadoes are nightmares. I know tornadoes can drop out of nowhere. I've been in them before but NEVER do this. Take cover IMMEDIATELY.
Their in storm chasers mod vehicle
That driver there has no idea what those tornadoes can do. He/she has never seen a beam driven through a car window. So foolish.
You absolutely have no idea how a tornado works as you have to be in the direct path of one. These are small tornadoes and as long as you're not in a path of one debris are not an issue unless you walk up and try to hug it. In the video clips here all the tornadoes were moving away from the storm chasers. As long as you keep the tornado in sight the risk is extremely low. Facts!
@@jamesm568 Your combined arrogance AND ignorance will get people killed. The flying debris become projectiles, which is what the person you replied to was saying.
@@jamesm568he's not wrong though so what are you trying to argue?
@@icfr0st78 I think a tornado chaser knows what they are doing. Tornadoes don't have a large debris field unless you're directly in its path.
Be careful. And proceed in your work. Every career comes with some risk. Did you hear about the Dominos Pizza guy who got shot?
“See if we can get a better view” Famous last words 💀
The only thing more dangerous than a tornado on the road? A Texas driver.
amen
Yep 😂
Someone who moved from the Midwest with his family two years ago to DFW area of Texas, 100% agree. Worst drivers in the country. Also, do these idiots know what a turn signal is?
@@bigjoker6905; Go back to Midwest
The only thing more dangerous than a tornado on the road are the people who are moving into my state from failed democratic states, cities and counties
Those tornadoes have the right to defend themselves.
I moved to volcano country 6 years ago to get away from tornadoes. News flash: no volcanoes have erupted since I arrived.
These chasers serve a valuable purpose....real time data... 75 yrs old live in MN 🥶,still spellbound by tornadoes 🌪️🌪️...thanks chasers👍👍
Yet...
@@lablaine1981 these r brave women & men chasing these 🌪's Giving us the most accurate info. Bless them on their journey
Don't worry you will get to see an eruption. The volcanic activity is building so basically it causes earthquake, big scary waves and volcano eruption.
yet
You didn't bother to stop and see if anyone was in the semi on its side?!?! 🤷♀️
Exactly I left a rant on here. Not very happy to see that. It was on fire too. Praying for the truck driver
I may be wrong but I didn’t see any fire just emergency flashers flashing resembling fire
We literally watched him pull over in front of it.
@meganmartin2037 they stopped. That was a storm chaser in either Nebraska or Iowa. They checked to make sure the driver was OK before proceeding.
I pray for those people. Man!
As if that would help
Credits goes to #ryanhallyall and his team.
He’s cool and all but doesn’t really help when the power goes out, get your self a weather radio.

Be prepared, not scared!!!
The first clip was Reed Timmer's.
It's crazy it's just super spinning wind.
Until it collects lots of wood, metal, and debris. Then it becomes a GRINDER😨🥶
Tasmanian
@@jackjohnsonjohnson8610 we just had another one last night that killed one person and another person is missing.
Um, time for a huge, fast U-turn!
People driving towards a tornado reminds me of people who think a grizzly bear wants to be petted.
Not really. Bears are alive, territorial, and can consciously attack and chase you. Tornadoes can't do any of that
Why were the drivers literally not driving in reverse when the tornado is literally about to cross the highway they're practically touching? Also, nobody stopped to see if the semi driver was ok? As I learned in TX growing up if you're outside whether in a vehicle or not find a ditch and lay flat and pray you'll be ok. I saw none of that.
I thought the same thing.. Ugh what's wrong with people? Almost rivals the people taking pics with wild animals in Yellowstone. Or wherever for that matter 🤔😳
The semi flipped on its side should’ve told drivers to stop following the tornado.
Storm chasers they gotta report on those tornados. It’s because of them that you have ground truth tornados. Very important to know that it has actually touched down.
The first clip was Reed Timmer he’s a professional storm chaser and drives the “dominator”. I recommend checking his youtube page
Eles vão atrás do tornado 🌪️ simplesmente para você fazer esse comentário.
You have to have balls of steel to drive by a flipped over rig to chase a tornado that close.
What gets me, they rather show video then rather if the truck driver was alright
Terrible disastrous force of nature. Salute to police, fire fighters, rescue teams, and first responders.
My heart is broken. That truckers truck was on fire, while tipped on its side and the person kept going. All for video footage. U could have saved a life man. Wheres your good soul. There was no one around helping that person.. be god be with that trucker. This world needs serious help if videos are more important than a humans life. Always remember what if the tables were turned. That person is someone’s family member.
It looked like the guy pulled over once he got behind the truck
Are you confusing flashing hazard lights with flames?
@@bubblyasmrvacuumyeah definitely flashers not a fire
Our new age kid's have no respect for anything never mind the elderly and have respect for the weather and what it is capable of ........
I see no fire only Hazzard lights
All that stuff flying around, that's parts of people's houses.
Driving by a tornado with your windows down is crazy work 😂😂🤣
That rolling shot of the charger with the tornado behind was one of the hardest rollers I’ve ever seen
Rollers???
I always heard you should drive at right angles away from it.
Naw Go into the darkness
This is epic!
I watched this live, this tornado though not the worst one that day was so surreal looking
Dude they are built different I would not have been that close to that tornado lol
When it crossed the road I could swear it was eating Concrete 😮
These drivers have more balls then I
Very scary
Now that's some up close 🌪️ footage!
Us out here in Tornado Alley chase Tornados, they don’t chase us. Here in KS i swear all my life I see everyone outside when we know one’s coming 🤣
FRIENDS: if you hear a tornado siren or a tornado warning - 1. Get to a basement 2. Go to an inner room of a house without windows like a bathroom .. use pillows to help protect your head 3. If you are on a road- PULL OVER and find a ditch AWAY FROM YOUR CAR and Hunker down. DO NOT SEEK SHELTER UNDER AN OVERPASS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE PAST ONE 4. If you are in a mobile home- follow step three as it is like being in a car .. it will be thrown in the air and demolished 5. Please avoid driving if at all able 6 invest in a storm shelter if you are able to !
Lord have mercy 🙏🏿
There were almost 30 tornadoes that one night in Oklahoma! Not sure on the fate but several touched down, I heard two in one night same town!! From Texas line to kansas, douth to north, and don't know how far west to east!
Those sirens are so creepy! Gives me goose bumps
Wow, that didn't look very safe LOL the first tornado you could literally see it gaining power and size! They were driving towards it. 😩😩 I would be looking for a hole to jump into! 😂😂😂
Jeezus I would be driving AWAY from that thing or running towards a ditch! 😯😯😯
Cant believe that guy drove right by those overhead semi's
This is like a movie but it is real
So terrifying...lived through many😮
Heavenly Father please protect those who are in this tornado please keep them safe may God bless you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I guess they skipped Kansas and Oklahoma. lol
So sad
It's devastating, 😞
Texans and Iowans are a lot alike. Hope everyone is ok
At least us Iowans would stop to see if the truck driver was OK.
@@vicki6771 yes we would
I would not be driving towards the tornado!😮
That's when they all discovered that adrenaline was brown 😂😂😂
Texas: Hey, a tornado, let's get outta the cars and get a closer view. Nebraska: really lets just drive through it and get an even greater view. Texas: yea not gunna to happen. we are better than that. it's called driving through flood water at your local whataburger driver thru. Nebraska: ok, you win....😅
Grew up in So Cal, earthquake central. Very rare to see this distruction, RARE.
What does an earthquake have to do with a tornado?
I, for one, am very glad I don’t live in these tornado-prone areas.
God help them all.
If I see a tornado or anything resembling extreme severe weather, I'm stopping my vehicle. Foolish people continue to drive near a tornado and not stop.
These are storm chasers though- it's their job
@@GalacticNovaOverlord Not all of them. A lot of vehicles and traffic I see on roads near a major tornado. They can't all be storm chasers.
@@joanbecenti8938 ah yeah, well most also have work to do- you have to pay the bills
WHY TF ARE YOU DRIVING TOWARDS IT?!?
Why are folk casually driving around during a tornado? 🤔
I would say right now it's a good time to stop and wait for the tornado to pass
Great videos! We dont miss anything anymore someone is gonna film it everyone is now a reporter with a portable camcorder 😂
If it wasn't for the debris a tornado curries, I'd want to ride in it.
Praying 🙏🏻
Other people driving other than storm chasers.
Don't mess with TX and DO NOT do this at home. 😮
Why do people keep driving!?
Poor truck driver i know what is it 😔
Actually this tornado is not tearing across Texas. It is tearasssing across Texas. There I’ve fixed it. You’re welcome.
I pray Gods protection over you if you are his child.
Really? Nebraska and Texas? What, you think they took a nap crossing Oklahoma??😮
Unfortunately my uncle's house was destroyed in elkhorn by a tornado
Any kind of Storm we seem to watch and frankly are dangerous but we watch it.
Wind is one of the God’s soldiers.
I often wonder, do the people who make these videos ever stop to think "Gee, I know it's extremely loud from the wind blowing, but my mouth is literally right next to the camera... Do I really need to yell like a psychopath?" 😕
I live in Kentucky, do you think I can piggyback these tornadoes to get a homeowner's insurance claim on my roof?
So violent and scary, i would try to keep a distance of at least few miles. Ever heard of fish or frogs drop from the sky? I've only heard stories though too. If these things catch anything big by the looks of the flipped trailer, that could bring big disaster.
Unfortunately in Texas too often we grab the cooler, lounge chairs & beer to watch.
"Violent Tornado!" Aren't all tornados violent?
TX is hundreds of miles from NE: which is it? Too hard to do the fact check ahead of time?
The majority were storm chasers. They will as close to the tornado as possible. They can make big bucks if they take they capture the money shot.
Great video! Scary!!😮
Y'all think it's a game, But wait until Them 3 mile wide tornadoes start up this summer
Somebody's angry!
Someone wake me up from this dream, is it the one responsible for having that wheeler truck down
Go the other way 😂
Crazy chasers.
I live in central Texas I know hwy 15. I'm calling friends.
Play stupid games; win stupid prizes
I see a Tornado 🌪 let's get a closer view, wait, was that a cow
This is so scary. It’s so large. I would be scared to death if I seen that in person. 😱😮🥺 God bless everyone. 🙏💯🕊️🌹RIP for who didn’t survive. 💔💯🙏🕊️
I'm going to vote 🗳 Democratic across America 🇺🇸
The problem is, you just don't know what you don't know it. And once you do, often it's good late. In other words, "dead men tell no tales." Or share video for that matter.
Why don't you see if you can record video in landscape mode like a normal person.
The little kids and teens who saw the movie Twister 28 years ago are now all *"sToRmChAsErS"* 🌪
