Bride had a much more interesting plot and world than it probably needed, with a lot of room to expand on both, which makes potential sequels all the more interesting beyond their promise as a dopamine buffet.
"Blood Over Bright Haven" is M. L. Wang's new standalone. It is a Dark Academia in a Fantasy world. It has simillar themes with "Babel", but even better. I think you will love the magic system. It reminded me a bit of C++ and programing, but also of Full Metal Alchemist.
I just learned that we are getting more in the Part of Your World series and I am soooo happy about it!! Also, I am here for the monthly Kingfisher reading plans, pure joy! Happy reading, hope you find some new faves 🥰
All the series. Its always good to check in and remind yourself what series you’re in because otherwise its so easy to forget series continuations especially if you’re reading new releases 🤣
I'm halfway through What Feasts at Night and so far I like it even more than the first. ☕
I don’t know why I find series updates so interesting lol.
Honestly me neither. Living vicariously through someone else's progress maybe?
Same haha
For the Micaiah Johnson, pretty much all the characters in the second book are present in the first book, but it doesn't follow the same protagonist. It essentially just shifts the focus, and takes place several years after the events of the first book. Don't know if that helps, but wanted to let you know!
I came to the comments to say the same thing 😁
I figured it would probably be something like this, which for me still makes it sort of a companion situation, like I don't feel the need to re-read the first book since that plot was wrapped up. But like I said in the video, technically that makes the inheritance trilogy not really a series but it has the numbers on the side so my brain just accepts it 🤣😅

☕🍵🥤 Funnily enough, I am reading The Tainted Cup. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts 👀
Did not expect how much spicier All The Hidden Paths was but I also loved those two new characters a lot. Also really loved Too Like The Lightning, it was one I'd heard nothing of and Im glad, because that was a wild fun ride. Going to slowly chip away at Vorkosigan till Im caught up with everybody but planning on startings Miles book 3 after Horus Heresy Book 3 (which Ill finish tonight) if I dont prioritise more Veiled Throne
Sad to hear the surviving sky wasn't great bc I recently bought the audiobook during a sale. Hopefully I still like it.
I wasn't obsessed with Theft of Swords either (ended up not continuing the series) but I just read Age of Myth and highly enjoyed it! They feel pretty different so might be worth a try if you're not sold by Riyria.
I need to start reading a T Kingfisher a month. I’d really like to finish her backlist.
Have you tried The Immortality Thief by Taran Hunt? It was one of my favorite sci fis from last year, one of those books where I found myself carrying it around to sneak in chapters whenever I had the chance. Technically it is sci fi horror with a condemned criminal given a chance at freedom if they go find something on this abandoned spaceship. One of the reasons I liked it is because we get a team of characters that each have something interesting and valuable to bring to the group, and they felt well developed and balanced as a group.

☕☕Sounds like you are doing well with your series. I need to read that NK Jemisin series.
Its one of my faves but I can see it being weird for a lot of people, just as a heads up
☕️ cup is apropos since I will need lots of caffeine in the form of tea to get through today!! Two series off the top of my head I need to continue are the Expanse book 7 and The Circle by Katherine Vermette (Métis litfic companion novels)
Nice! Hope you enjoy both of those
