Humza Yousaf quits as Scotland's first minister | BBC News
Scottish National Party leader Humza Yousaf quits, triggering a search for a successor and new first minister.
He said he had "underestimated" the level of hurt after ending a power-sharing deal with the Scottish Greens last week.
The deal which brought Green ministers into government for the first time anywhere in the UK was designed to last until the next Scottish Parliament election in 2026 but has been scrapped within three years.
The tensions between the parties were obvious and increasing, not least following the recent decision to drop some key climate change targets.
Mr Yousaf says he will stay on as first minister until the SNP chooses his replacement.

That fact of the matter is however, when the SNP were elected into minority government, Sturgeon was the leader and this would have been in the forefront of the minds of voters as they cast their ballots. Had you put it to them that the leader would in fact be Yousaf in several months time, would they still have voted for the SNP? Probably not, but sure, keep drinking the kool aid.
