  • It doesnt matter who the fans think the best of all time is. I see on social media people arguing all the time saying CR7 is the goat, but when you ask professional players who have played with both, none really say CR7 and all say Messi. Even people that played with CR7 still say Messi and that just shows really how good Messi was.

Most Brazilians do unnecessary step-overs and dance moves (apart from Pele who was pure ). Maradona and Messi make you feel natural and not forced. That's the difference. • What you say is perfect. The feeling I get watching the little man play futbol is something I cannot put into words. Forget the numbers, the eye test alone should tell everyone what they need to know about Messi. Cristiano was a great player, no doubt at all. And I think they have both made eachother better footballers during their rivalry. But for me, it isn't even close. Messi is on a level all on his own. Michael Jordan never says hes the greatest basketball player of all time. Leo Messi never says hes the greatest footballer of all time. That is for other people to decide. Cristiano has been pumping his own tires for as long as i can remember, calling himself the best. I'm old enough to have seen both he and Messi make their first team debuts as professionals. Cristianos teams play for Cristiano. Messi plays for the team, not himself.

    • That is why there are no more Bruce Lees, Muhammad Alis and Gretzkys in the world. You all want instant gratification and the lowering of expected standards. No body wants to do the work to get the reward and so nobody expects others to have to do it, they just want so they too can get way with not having to do the work. Do you realise how much work it takes to get all the different skills of Pele, Bruce Lee or Muhammad Ali in one human being. These people worked like monsters, but unfortunately we are surrounded by light waits these days with no one prepared to step up to the plate. If you are wondering why Messi cannot kick as good with both feet from long range as Pele could,. just see the interviews of praise he gets saying that he did not train much, but then on match day came to life. Well while he was not training much, people like Pele and Muhammad Ali were training and building up more and more skill to a high level, such as being able to shoot goal after goal from outside the box at long range with both feet and being able to do monster jumps above everybody else to score headers despite being short in Pele's case. This is what it takes to win 3 world cups and miss out on a possible fourth only because you were injured. The idea of struggling to win just one world cup as Messi did and Ronaldo could not is a joke to someone of Pele's ability and even more so if you have to be awarded 5 penalties doing it with Pele saying he did not want to take penalties as he felt it was too easy and a cowardly way to score a goal and take credit, especially if you did not win the penalty or the penalty was a wrong call. Those who call Messi the GOAT are ignoring facts and lowering standards of what the greatest player should not only look like, but be able to achieve in what is a team game. They do not understand what greatness is as an individual or as a team member. They are saying he or she does not have to win the greatest and most challenging things and does not have to have all the skills of the profession that would help him or her win those things. All he needs is to get a few high personal statistics and that is it, forget all the rest. I have no doubt if not for the racism of banning foreigners from winning a Ballon d'or, Pele would have won 10 or more of them with ease to go with all the other records he was breaking and would have won one before he was 18 years old just as he had won everything else possible to win by the time he was 18, including the world cup and South American cup. I'm relying on on nothing, but pure facts here. Peace and love.

The numbers Messi has pulled playing at the most elite level in Europe far outweigh Pele's numbers playing in Brazil against part time construction workers. He's won absolutely everything he can and has the most decorated resume of any player ever. Hes the greatest ever in the greatest sport ever and he is now well above any athlete you named. But using numbers with Messi is an insult to him. You need only eyes to see that his talent, intelligence and ability are abnormal. He can do things with the ball that no one will ever do. Sure I am a Messi fan but I can't just overlook someones hard work and success because of a millennial or a one of a kind talent. Also to people who say people in their primes jada jada, those players didn't do the same thing as Messi did, did they? Honestly I wish there was a player who did something similarfobefore him but my knowledge unfortunately ends here. So whoever has enough knowledge on footballs history, please enlighten me.

  • I was uninformed man on football, so i only knew 3 football club, juventus, AC milan and real madrid. At that time, i was watching the 1st el-classico game due to my friend, so i tend to root for madrid because that's one of the club i knew, after 10 minutes or so, i was shocked, and still am, to watch a football club in reality plays like a football club i read in manga (try read shoot manga and kakegawa football club is what i am referring to, read it, i highly recommend it, and try to focus on an arc in the manga where kakegawa have to deal with a flash passing). On the center of that stage was a man with No. 10 on barcelona jersey, Messi didn't score a single goal during that el-classico, but the way he wrecked havoc on madrid and the tiki taka play of barcelona. In an instant i love FCB, but after messi left barca i did realize, it's not the club i love, but it's messi all along. He brings me pristine joy to watch football, his passion to the game is highly contagious. I never know and watch any player that give me that kind of vibe over football like messi does. Stats and number of goals, etc is terms that people use to quantify about how great a player is, but with messi, stats and numbers can't do it. His glorius moments in football is a piece of an art, you can't quantify an art, you just know a masterpiece art because it touches your soul. And that's why Messi is the best. Pele, Maradona, etc are a distant memories, though their greatness still echoes and reach out today, with messi, you can still watch him today. Enjoy it, it's a privilege for u to watch it live

  • The funniest interview about Messi I've ever seen was where Marcello asked his fellow defenders why Messi isn't responding when he spoke to him. His guys (RM) told him to leave Messi alone or the game was going to get more difficult 😂. Mind you, Marcello was a World Class LWB for almost 13 years! The video is somewhere on here. 🤣

Messi and Argentina had put a full stop on this topic. had proven as messi at 35 as the most complete player of all time had once again broke the record and become a true legendary that will live forever in our heart and mind. regardless what hater excuse and deny as the g. o. a. t words already on messi Jersey the only one player who had it even before he and his teammate lift the world cup. • Maradona was pure magic on the pitch. Don’t compare them, they are so similar and so worlds apart. Messi playing in 70s/80s would have not been what he was/is now. The game back then was brutal. Maradona played in 4 WC, won one and become immortal, almost won second one in 1990 and manage to pull the whole team all the way to final even he played with injuries. Participating in 1994 was a mistake but pressured from every direction he went in. 1982 in Spain shows what I said in the beginning - 80s were brutal

  • To say Messi has everything is rubbish and the fact you have to lie about this in your argument or statement means you have an agenda that not only seeks to ignore the facts or seeks to manipulate them, or you are blindly listening to those that do. 1. He can only shoot well with one foot from range, but Pele could do this with both, 2. He is not great at heading the ball under pressure, but Pele could, 3. He cannot produce the match winning magic in high pressure finals to pull his team over the line, but Pele and Maradona could again and again no matter how poorly their team played. 4. He is not so great or reliable at taking penalties, but Pele was. 5. He could and has not dribbled from one end of the pitch to the other past a whole team of professional players and score a goal despite all the new rules in his favour to make this easier to achieve, but Pele did and showed he can with the task of players hacking at his feet with impunity supported by the fouling rules of the time that would not have them sent off if they did, and as a result had a statue built of him outside the stadium he did it. Unfortunately this is not on film as only less than 30 percent of Pele's professional performances were caught on film. 6. Messi cannot defend or tackle very well which is part of football and what a football player is and does, but Pele could tackle and defend very well. 7. There is nothing that Messi has done on the football or does at a high level that Pele did not or could not do by the age of 18, not one thing, but there is plenty Pele did and could do at a high level that Messi has not done in his whole career and cannot do. With all this in mind, to say he is the greatest player the world has ever seen as Carragher might say is a joke, stupid and actually factually criminal. Pele is football and showed the world what is possible in football. When players learn to achieve the best they could ever be as football players they are aiming to get as close as they can to doing what Pele can do, but even the greatest cannot get close. You will need to put all Christian Ronaldo's strengths Messi does not have, such as his amazing heading ability, and all Messi's strengths Ronaldo does not have, together, to replicate what Pele was capable, but their skills and strengths on their own as individuals is not enough to match or compete with what Pele was or could do as a football player. It is only by achieving this would they too be able to win 3 world cups, and be viciously fouled out of a fourth, or score 8 goals in a professional game against professional players that can foul you with no interest in the ball knowing they will not be sent off. Both Christian Ronaldo and Messi have great statistics and some of the best statistics the world have ever seen, but even they struggle to keep up with the statistics achieved by Pele despite all the modern rule changes that make these statistics easier to achieve such yellow and red cards for fouls and modern offside rules, for example. A lot of goals they scored would not have been scored as they would have been viciously fouled with no attempt to get the ball with the player knowing they will not be sent off as Pele had to experience. If Pele played under the same rules Messi and Ronaldo play under, he would have scored far more goals, made far more assists, dribbled passed a whole team, not just once, and so on. That is the honest way to judge who is the greatest player of all time. Pele showed us what the beautiful game is and showed us many things in football we have never seen before and never even thought possible. Neither Messi nor Ronaldo can make this claim. So who is the best ever? This should not even be up for debate in any sane world and it is pure ignorance, and for some even a clear act of clear racism or nationalism, to even consider it. It's a slam dunk for Pele. However, who is the second third or fourth best or greatest player ever, that is up for debate. Peace and love

    • @@JamesBur That is why there are no more Bruce Lees, Muhammad Alis and Gretzkys in the world.
