Keane deserves the love and respect he's now given - what a guy.
I love him & I'm a Liverpool supporter. Didn't when he was playing mind you. But I respect him as a great player/leader & now pundit. He's Man Utd's Souness.
There's a reason that united team had so much confidence - they all had each other's back, and nobody more than Keane.
As Liverpool fan, Vieira was the more talented midfielder as a neutral. But Keane was a strong will character that made him world class. but I never thought I was say this but love him off the pitch. Who’d thought the angriest and most competitive player the Premier League has ever seen, would have a razor sharp whit and a sense of humour that would make him so fun to watch.
For someone already a legend and high status in society speaking with such high respect regarding an athlete shows how true gentleman, respectful David is My love, my respect and my all for David ❤
@@matthewjamison Souness hasn't got anywhere near the character of Keane. Souness is a Tory and worked for The Sun for feck sake 😂

Roy Keane man. I feel like crying because that character is heavy in Utd's changing room. It's painful that dressing room lost such a character and it pains. All former Utd legends mention Keane as an example of setting standards. The best Captain
As a die hard LFC supporter i admire Roy even back in the day he was an absolute United icon. He has my respect and love now la.
how much better utd would be now if there's a character like keane in the team
As an Arsenal fan, we know about the characters of that United team, the epic battles we had… Beckham, Neville, Keane… truly a great rivalry.
@@nas84payne I know the tribal rivalries between Liverpool v Utd and Arsenal v Spurs but the epic rivalry, for football reasons and standards was Arsenal v Manchester United. It was epic. Tunnel bursts, Keane v Vierra, the Pizza gate, The Ruud Van Nisterooy and Martin Keown feud at Old Trafford, Arsenal winning the league at Old Trafford in 2002. I enjoyed it. Manchester United and Arsenal are, I think, the two clubs that have had managers serve more than 20+ years. Wenger and Ferguson PL Legends.
Love the attitude of Keane sticking up for the team players especially in games.
These guys were something else, top class players
Such an era to have been a fan of the game, even though I did not actually have an allegiance to a team. That 1999 treble was a thing of utter beauty to watch, even though as Roy or David pointed out, he (and Scholes) missed the Bayern final. While Sheringham and Solskjær that night scored, both goals had Beckham as assist, or involved. Epic times and possibly still my favorite ~90 minutes of sport.
A good lad

Keane brought out the best of David here because he felt safe in his company.. and what David's Dad said about Keane at the end says everything you need to know about him from real football man. Respect
I was never a fan of Beckham but after watching the Netflix documentary and several interviews, I can say I am a fan now. He seems genuinely humble.

Not many blokes Keano would allow to put their hand on his shoulder like that but Becks's dad is one of them, you can see how the core team mates were genuinely like family, they knew each others family well, mums, dads etc I think this is what made Man Utd so formiddable on the pitch, the players would die for each other and fight to the last, and do it against the world coming at them, if necessary
Becks was unbelievable - his work rate, how tough he was on the pitch, he was a pest if we were losing until we scored a goal he would not stop crossing, passing, chasing down every ball. Never got distracted from his own fame and grand life, that's why I was mad at Fergie and still am for making him leave Manu, his outside life never got into his professional career because he was the most dedicated footballer I have seen in a United shirt, true red through and through. Happy to witness the class of 92 with my own eyes ❤🔥
The moment Ted Beckham came in and put his arms around Keano and Writty was incredibly emotional and touching. You can also see how David is humbled and happy to hear his father say, "He's a good lad." It was a brilliant episode that truly showcased the human side of these legends. When asked why Ferguson gave Beckham a hard time, Becks he instantly turned to his captain. That is respect. His captain then gave a measured answer. At that point, the cameras didn't exist. It was as if we are all sat there around that table together listening to their thoughts. Brilliant. Gary Neville paced that interview really well and asked the right questions.

I lived in Manchester from 1985 until 2002 and I went to an awful lot of Utd games and had a season ticket from '94 until '04 (when I gave it up as I'd moved and couldn't go much and decided it best if I couldn't be there as a fan all the time, to let someone have my seat and experience what I'd had). I never saw before that or since, any player like Roy Keane look out for his team like he did - an absolute monster character on the pitch - a warrior, a leader and a protector of the badge - pure and simple he was (and still is) a measure of what a true footballer was, is and can be.
Well said keano is a legend ..
What a brilliant, unscripted, natural conversation between mates. Just so happens they were part of the golden-era of the PL. Hearing them speak individually gives you an idea why they were successful in their own right, but hearing them talk collectively shows you why Man Utd as a team was pretty much impenetrable during their playing years. The teamwork, the commitment, the loyalty, the hard work, and everything else paid off. Love this interview with Becks and great to hear them laugh and joke. I don’t think I stopped smiling while watching it

Neville in terms of career and achievements is probably England's best right back. But in terms of pure ability I honestly think Walker and maybe even a few others are ahead.
It's crazy how he understates his career, he was a sensational player.
It sometimes annoys me when neville puts himself down because he's easily England & utds best ever right back & this's coming from a spurs fan

Love that when they get together theres still that sort of 'heirarchy' between Nev Becks and Keano despite Becks being the worldwide superstar and Nev almost like the face of Sky Sports football...they both still look at Keane like hes the captain! Keano meanwhile is tucking into sweets lol

For some reason I've always wanted to watch Keane and Becks in an interview together Keane has always defended Beckhams lifestyle publically because as he put it he backed it up on the training pitch and field. Becks gives Keane credit for the way he ran the dressing room setting high standards for the team (something all his previous teammates state) But the cherry on top and my favourite part was Beckhams Dad giving Keane praise and its probably the only time you see Keane that happy to receive it. Probably because he got it when it was Ted's time to praise Beckham but thats how good Keane was for Man Utd! Beckham's 99 season didnt deserve runner up for top player honors in my opinion. And I think Beckhams greatest attribute will forever be the fact that fame never stopped him giving his all to the game. It never turned him into a bad person. And most importantly the family man he has become when so many high profile celebrity couples dont make it Becks and Posh seemed of all of them the most likely to end in divorce was just so high profiled you almost had to assume it was for fame but it never was it was for love and still is and what a great story they are. If they go to their graves still together would have to be the most successfully high profile romance in history.

I have been critical of Gary Neville a few times ... but the guy is a non stop worker... it kind if mirrors his career as a footballer. An outstanding right back in my eyes. And you can clearly see the bond that is there among Gary, David and Roy... friends for life
He is a hardworking lad
I love how even after all these years they still call Sir Alex "The Manager" and "The Gaffa". The levels of respect from that era will never be the same.
Overlap participating in Media Blackout of City Treble Ignoring it and continuing on as if Utd only Club to do Treble,no?🤔
@@HumanBeingsRThinkingBeingscry mate, it’s not a media blackout, it’s just that nobody cares about city
@@HumanBeingsRThinkingBeings you must live a very sad life to have to fabricate something in your own head and actually believe it happened? They never mentioned City once in the whole interview, it was about Beckham and his new Doc.

Great episode, it was really good to hear some of the personal stories that fans don't usually have exposure to. David Beckham's career is phenomenal.
Hey Gary and team - absolutely magical get together - I am a massive Man Utd fan from Pretoria in South Africa since 1969 - my eldest son Tim was born in 1998 and he and I lived watching you guys every chance we could get as he grew up and Tim just wanted to be David Beckham - he could dip and bend it just like David - wonderful that you are all getting together again and imparting your knowledge and experience to others - not just ito soccer but ito of the life lessons you all learnt along the way where it's the tough times that define us and how we handle them - kudos to the documentary produced about David - i'll be watching it again that's for sure - it is so well produced and what a movie - thank you, thank you and thank you again..regards
This podcast after 2 episodes has become essential viewing/listening. Need this regularly and more often.
Plenty more to come. See you next Wednesday!
@@TheOverlapyou guys are building something incredible. Very emotional watching this
Tears in my eyes. The reverence for Roy Keane, the strength of Beckham, Garry Neville selflessly stitching it up all together. My biggest wish is to have Roy sit with Sir. Alex and talk about Manchester United.
Keane and Sir Alex are both too stubborn to bury the hatchet
Great meeting these lads basically just being their causal selves enjoying their post-football prime - Keane was such a whip confronting the sheepish tendencies so vital to keep a team on track - at times he arguably went too far on the turf but he no doubt deserves every bit of respect and love he gets form his old mates
Roy Keane you bloody legend. Love from Australia. What a leader he was.
Just seeing Becks dad put his arms round Keano and Wrighty is all I needed to see today. Beautiful.
Top lad Beckham. I'm a massive Liverpool fan, and I love to see the banter and friendship now with Neville, Carragher, Keane and Wrighty. Always great to listen to these guys 👍
Doesn’t matter who you support does it
Roy Keane needs a documentary & a comedy special!
What a heartwarming episode this was especially with his dad at the end ,from someone thats just watched the beckham doc aswell then onto this was like a behind the scenes interview after it. Me too great memories from those times special really. Well done to everyone involved loved it lads
16:50. Keane's laugh. He loved that challenge 🤣🤣🤣 and loved Neville's reaction to Sherwood. He loved rough moments on the field
This is fast becoming a legendary program. For those of us who grew up watching the ‘golden era’ of the prem this show is just a blast of nostalgia. Makes you miss that 90s-00s era so much.
Really nice to see his dad at the end. The way he put his arms around Wrighty and Keano
''Me and Victoria...Me and Victoria''. You can tell he's proud of his wife and their love! ♥
People laugh at Gary Neville. You don't spend your whole career with a team like MUFC and get 85 England caps if you can't play. He was a top player and always reliable.
Hundred percent. I am an Arsenal fan and loathed him while he played but Gary is being very humble and takes the jokes from others but man was a constantly reliable performer every week for a decade and a half.
