  • Maybe its just a me-thing, but I cant help but always feel like with units that have the False Flag trait it end up being kind of just a gimmick. Them being recon units makes it seem kind of counterintuitive to have them surrounded by lesser Stealth units that could blow their cover. That being said, I'm really curious as to whether or not there could be something there as far as a strategy of basically pairing them up with some spammy inf to essentially give an hp buff to your SF unit. As it stands now, with them being recon focused, it kinda ends up wasting half of what makes them unique since its not really the goal to get your recon units in fights. By grouping them up with spammy inf you could just treat them like a normal SF inf squad and use them primarily for fighting. Kind of a double edged sword though, since while you will give your infantry "blob" better optics, youre kind of not using their stealth. Would have to keep them spread enough to not be bomber-bait so maybe it would be hard to keep them all fighting together to utilize the False Flag anyways? Curious what y'all think about these types of units

    • The trait makes little sense and doesn't impact how units perform at all. Whether you engage with your recon troops depends on their HP, weaponry and traits. "False Flag" recon infantry is usually good at combat, has forward deployment, great vision and is quite costly, so keeping them in the rear just wastes their potential.

    • In a lot of divisions the best CQC infantry and oftentimes AT Launchers are found with recon inf. In conjunction with recon deployment I definitely use them to actually fight for the first tick or two until I can get some reinforcements in. Rushing chokepoints, towns, forests. That kind of thing. Admittedly I do not take advantage of the false flag trait at all as I figure one of two things. 1. As you've said it only serves to blow it's cover by using it's trait in conjunction with infantry. 2. real players will always just click on them with flamers/sappers anyway.

    • @@Raptorsified Now in Warno LDR units have more effect too. As long as you have set the battle correctly. As for Flase Flag units, think Laos and Cambodia during Vietnam war, deep in country being confused as teammates.
