@@mehulkalra2002 you're cool!
Okay, this joker is more scary than the Batman who laughs.
Guess you can’t try to pronounce the Irish actors name right
where’s philip molina
holy crap i would have never caught that the joker took a paper clip, good eyes
Wouldn't have seen that even if I watched it a million times. But it's a proper dumb move by batman there
Yeah facts, I wonder if that's designed to be an actual clue or just a tiny continuity error.
I didn’t actually see it but I instantly thought he had to have done it.
He didn't. There was 1 paperclip on the top & 1 on the side when he hands the file to Joker. When Joker gives it back, there are 2 on the top. He just put them in different spots. Actually, I'm pretty sure there's an EXTRA paperclip on the bottom of the file when he gets it back that doesn't seem to be there when he gives it to Joker lol
@@seangriz58 No when the joker takes the book there are two at the top and one on the side, then when Batman takes it out the one on the side is missing. I definitely see how you thought it was moved up but there is in fact 3 at the start if you look closely.
The cinematography of this scene is amazing. Keeping the Joker mostly a blur keeps our anticipation going on and on, is a genius idea.
😐
somehow i dont feel any of that. i dont buy keoghan joker
nobody wants another joker movie
@@giovannikelvin133 why tho?
@@adityawankhede7260 It's the most generic sadistic psychopathic fantasy without the grotesque disfigurement.
Joker mentioning "you're usually so ahead of the curve" feels like a call back to heath ledger in the dark knight when he says to harvey dent in hospital ".. Im just ahead of the curve"
He said that when getting interrogated
He said that to Batman in TDK interrogation scene.
STOP IT
He doesn’t say CURVE he actually says… “You’re normally so ahead of the garbage.” You can clearly hear him say a word with TWO syllables not one.
@@edgarlima9285 u joking right?
*This scene automatically would have took the spotlight from The Riddler. In my humble opinion, the scene was simply captivating and unsettling. I can’t wait to see what Matt does next with these characters.*
It also explained the entirety of the movie. And this scene would have been way too early for that to happen.
No
Why do you type like that
Why are you typing in bold
I disagree. You'd only realise after the riddler batman face to face that joker solved it in seconds. The scene elevates riddler joker praises him amd also compares hi. To batman... its alot better than what we got
if Joker and Riddler are like this, imagine how scary Scarecrow will be
That would be amazing
& clayface,mr.freeze lmao
I wish holy shit
the batman villains are go have a awesome look,
I really want a good scarecrow now lol
I love these horror takes by Reeves. After all, Batman is a character who investigates murderers, his villains should be scary maniacs.
So no other joker has been a scary maniac? Lmao
Because Caesar Romero was terrifying?? @killer snowman
All super villains are murderers lol
it’s more of a psychological thriller than an action movie tbh which is really interesting
@@lildad559 umm a maniac for sure, but not that scary, appearance wise.
"you smile at one, He smiles at you, and so one smile makes two" - Joker
His eyes in that scene looks like heath ledger 😨 I get that terrified vibes
1+1=2, let's go!
@@rakhibisht9324 heath ledgar isnt terrifying lol
@@glocktop916 L take
@@glocktop916 I agree. I loved how over the top it is over everything else, the acting was great, but he wasn't scary.
I love this more realistic portrayal of the Joker. He's scary and menacing.
@mercury_stuck_in_1984 i think its perfect for me
@mercury_stuck_in_1984 for real that shit looks horrible

Realistic??? LOL Joaquin Phoenix is the realistic version of the character, Done to perfection.
Joker's bloody fingers could just have been a symptom of the chemicals; I've seen a few people who clean obsessively and it tends to dry out, crack and bloody the tips of their fingers.
Yep i do dishes for a living and my fingers are fucked
Reeves said its a skin disease, no chemicals with this Joker
nah i think he just bit it off
He’s picking.
He's suffering from a degenerative disease
*Imagine being Batman and having to deal with this crazy motherjoker and the Riddler for a living. Both interrogation scenes are incredibly well done, creepy, demented but so damn entertaining to watch.* *I feel Batman has just as big of a fixation on the Joker. I also find it funny that neither one of them are intimidated by the other but seemingly more interested in figuring the other one out.*
I took it as he went to the last person who challenged him mentality
That's a good analysis Fiel
"Commissioner Gordon, now the criminals have been put behind bars, now it is my ti-" "The Riddler break free with the freak. Somehow they managed to lead other prisoners out of Arkham.. that was a minute ago."
The animated movies go into how basically batman loves hunting these villains you see this kind of in batwomen rebirth
Batman seems fascinated by him/how his mind works.. the fact he even went to him for help says as much.. the way joker IMMEDIATELY breaks down what's happening is also terrifying.. &shows (atleast atp) that Jack Napier is much smarter/quicker on the analytical uptake than Bruce Wayne He's definitely getting out of Arkham in either the next movie or the penguin/riddler series
I'm getting major Death of the Family vibes from Barry Keoghan's disfigured Joker face and I love it!
No way that I didn’t notice that missing paper clip.
3:30 “ahead of the curve” line might be a reference tho Nolan’s interrogation scene,”I’m not a monster, I’m just ahead of the curve.”
noooo you think ?
@@thepenguin4379 yeah it felt obvious, but it wasn’t mentioned. So I wasn’t sure if everyone caught it.
@@thepenguin4379 kind of a dick response lol but whatever.
@@yesilikemyowncomment1959 I sure didn't, so thanks!
@@thepenguin4379 someone’s a bit salty for no reason
Interestingly, The Batman has the 4 villains from the Batman movie of the 60s
With the Shakespeare Statue and similarities between the Batmobiles i think that it was intentional on Reeve's side. Cool to see such a integral part of bats history get mentioned
Joker took a paper clip and played it off nicely
I couldnt believe he let a paperclip in there & then ppl pointed out one was missing i was like SEE! Lol
I like that there's a joker for Robert Pattinsons Batman But I would rather he stays in Arkham still until he is ready to escape and have fun Bring in Mr. Freeze next. Gotham is flooded and winter is coming... Batman Cold Blood
Rover who?
@@Sidddo8 sorry I use the swype text
Jim carrey as clayface would be dope Changing into different faces
@@freakyboy742 That would be very fun! Clayface was such a great character in the Animated series and even the Arkham game
I want Mr. Freeze in this trilogy so bad.
I loved Fire Marshall Bill's performance in this scene
Okay, you win best comment. Lol. He does favor Fire Marshall Bill's burnt up appearance from In Living Color. All he has to say is "Lemme tell you something!!"
Jim Carey would’ve been far better
I was thinking Michael Myers but this is better lol.
In my opinion, this is a great scene that I’m GLAD was cut from the movie. Joker gives away far too much about who Riddler is a person, and most of the thrill of The Batman is watching the detective in him learn those things on his own.
It reminds me of the permanent smile from Nicholson and the psychotic makeup of Ledger. Definitely chilling and uncomfortable (similar to Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth)
*Love how scary he looks and the fact that Joker was probably this Batman’s first villain in his career.*

Im exited to see his Joker. Except I hope its gonna be another few movies until he is the villain, because we are getting too many Joker recently. Im not sure if he can surpass Heath Ledgers performance, but he definitely has a chance. I also think that the Matt Reeves trilogy definitely can surpass The Dark Knight trilogy. Im very exited for the sequel, even though thats gonna be at least 3 years...😭
It won’t
Is Matt Reeves a better director than Nolan? I like Planet Of The Apes, but stop it. One makes enjoyable movies, the other makes works of art/classics. I'm just saying its hard to do it two times, letalong three.
Im hoping we get him in a third movie but have him be a real character in the next one. I would love to see batman visit him two or three times in it.
@@gamblertoguru382 I said what I said. And yes I like The Batman more than TDK.
Well get the series before the movie maybe idk how that works
I'm surprised yall didnt mention Jeremiah from Gotham and how his Joker looks so similar to this one here with the chemical burn scarring and the falling hair. That feels like an obvious test drive by DC to see how audiences would respond to a more physically realistic take on the Joker
This joker didn't fall into a vat of acid. Reeves said that this joker was born with birth defects and that's the reason why his face is scarred. His hair though I have no clue he might have torn it out because it appears that this joker is a complete psycho
@@austinmorton9759 no his face is twisted from birth, but the scars probably due to acid.
@@austinmorton9759 nah he said he was born with the constant smile which slowly drove him insane
actually he's more comic accurate than ever.
@@dcmastermindfirst9418 Agreed
There's a "old" news about that there's a 4 hour long version of this movie - i wonder what the last 1 hour contains, i would really love to see that version.
I think the "ahead of the curve." line was an ode to Ledger's Joker line in the interrogation room in the Dark Knight.
No one: Patrick: "He's just sitting there, MENACINGLY!!"
“Im not a monster, im just ahead of the curve.”
wen joker said “ahead of the curve”, it reminded me about the the dark knights joker wen he said he was also ahead of the curve wen batman was interrogating him
I was so happy that this movie focused on the riddler. I’ve always thought a serious take on that villain would be exceptional. I love the joker. The joker movie was amazing. I feel however like he’s like a favorite song than gets played too much on the radio until you get tired of it, or a favorite food that I’m eating everyday until I can’t taste it anymore. I’m getting tired of him. It’s almost like WB can’t make anything with Batman and not include the joker. I was actually let down that he was even in that end scene at all. I was hoping they might explore more of the lesser known but equally terrifying villains in the universe moving forward.
I agree! Joker can actually ruin a batman Movie
I honestly feel like if you replace joker with two-face in this situation and it becomes 50 times better instantly.
Professor pygy would be soooo coooool
I kinda wished they teased him up until Batman 3
They still prob will
Well played Mr.J !!! Spot on review. Thanks.
Didnt notice the missing paperclip! nice catch great video
U pointed out the paperclip to me. fantastic as always. 👍🏼
What a great catch with the paper clip!
I want to see this jokers origin and also want to see him act more because he seems like he’s gonna be a good one
Damn, i missed the paperclip detail! Nice enlightment and vision you have, thank you!
You're telling me that year 2 Batman is dumb enough to give a locked up Joker a file with 🖇️?
He’s… still learning.
The guards are at fault imo
Yes. Bruce Wayne is a human, not a robotic AI. This is exactly the type of stuff that brings a character to life. I'd I didn't notice it either, that makes it very convincing. It was the last thing we all wwerw thinking about
That paper clip detail is amazing. Great detail ti fine
3:34 Heath: I’m not a monster…I’m just ahead of the curve.
Wow Buddy! Very minute detail review. Really loved it. Esp the paper clip scene.. "Sneaky Sneaky, Notty Notty.. hmm mm.." 😂😂 Well, this Joker seems to be more horrific and super excited to see how Matt Reeves showcases him while giving a strong background and a story where Batman reaches upto his limits to break his only one rule.
I’m glad the Joker’s appearance was limited to a short scene near the end, as some other comments said, it would have completely taken the spotlight away from the Riddler. Nothing will ever beat Heath Ledger, but this Joker is creepy and intriguing, and awesome, I cannot wait for the next movie
Assuming Matt reeves even took the fight club kiss lye scar as inspiration to scarring joker, where the scars are affirmation of the character’s principles
Good pick up on the paper clip completely went over my head lol 😂
He looks like Baraka in the MK2 film
Dont talk about my mom bruh😑
It saddens me to hear Joaquin Phoenix won’t play a part in any upcoming batman films, personally his portrayal of the joker was my favorite and seeing his character transform into the joker was amazing. I’d love to see another movie that goes deeper into his joker shenanigans
there were leaks of a part two of joker film, so he might return
Joker is getting a sequel
Giving you a sub cause you caught that paper clip that’s amazing
i also want to say that when he says you're normally so ahead of the curve that could be a nod to a line that heath ledgers joker says to batman but for heath ledgers joker he says im not a monster im just ahead of the curve
It would be cool if the story of this joker is that he has a medical condition that makes him smile all the time. He gets bullied in school and by everyone around him. And he gets beaten up. Then he commits crimes and goes to this prison. I wanna see him escape by someone like bane or something. And I want the joke to look similar to the comic joker. But I wanna see that in live action
That is his story lol, look it up. At least as far as his smile being natural
Suffering from degenerative disease.. confirmed
This is why I love NR , when all other channels rush to drop a vid , they take the time to really go threw the vid 1st then drop ,the paper clip 🤯, wow 🤩
Great analysis thanks!
That Paper clip detail spot was legendary
it would be cool if they put out the notebooks. like the gotham project notebooks so we could atleast read year one.
Truly a smile not even a mother could love.
I definitely think he looks like this after a vicious beating from Batman. Also thought Reeves said it wasn’t an acid thing
would a beating from batman turn his skin pale white have burns all over has his hair fall out and turn his hair green?
That was actually a good catch on the missing clip on the file.
This scene was simply too good for the movie, it's was gonna be too early on in the movie that it will take away the build up to the riddler interrogation scene
Props for noticing the missing clip!
Ahead of the curve is also a easter egg for heath ledgers explanation in the dark knight of not being a monster he ahead of the curve
I think this scene is awesome, but they was right to cut it, as it definitely would of outshined Paul dano as the riddler, I thi k he was brilliant as the riddler, awesome film all together,
Tying into the massive corruption amongst law enforcement and politicians in the movie I think joker is going to be a rookie or young cop who gets caught up working for the mob. He has that accident that makes him become insane
I was just getting ready to mention the paper clip!
According to Matt Reeves, those aren't chemical scars. He was born that way.
Anyone else thing the “ahead of the curve” line is a reference to Heath Ledger’s Joker
This is by far the scariest joker I’ve seen in all of the DCU
Please look up how they pronounce Barry Keoghans name
Respect ✊
His face reminds me of the look from the graphic novel “Joker”. The mouth looks exactly like the front cover.
Looks like he still recovering from the chemical fall
I find it ironic that Barry's Joker says Batman is always ahead of the curve when in the Dark Knight it was Ledger who said "I'm not a monster I'm just ahead of the curve" in his own interrogation before Batman grabbed him up. Which he can't do here with the plexiglass in the way.
Patience is key.
Yo, noticing that missing paperclip when he gives Batman the file back? …👌👏
I’m excited for this version of Joker. From just this scene I’m really liking Barry’s interpretation
That first anniversary quote makes me believe that this could be a sequel to Batman: Year One
The scene was very Clarice and Hannibal.
I love how "silence of the lambs " this scene is..
About timeeeeee
never would have caught that missing paper clip
Nice find with the Joker taking a paper clip from the files 👏🏽 I see you Joker
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS THE SECOND THE CLIP DROPPED! It’s not so much me being a demanding fan, it’s more that I love what the NR crew have to say about the content I’m interested in. Thank you guys
This level of disfigurement should of been left for two-face, don't really see him sweet talking Dr. Quinn :P
I doubt HQ is in this universe.
The penguin &killer croc makes since after all that flood setting up for next movie
I worked on the movie and the unreleased blu-ray Version is more that 3 hours and I got to say Matt reeves crated an absolutely amazing film and the Are going to be awesome
You read my mind!!!!!
good eye regarding the missing paperclip
I wanna see a joker and batman prequel or origins of their first interaction
Brilliant interaction between Batman & Joker.
wait, wait, year 2 means Batman is in his second year of being the Batman ? that’s crazy.. nice catch w that one
I'd love the series to be an anthology and introduce a villain each episode!
I like my Joker with dermatillomania. Which isn’t saying I only like a lip licker, but a scab picker as well!
I love how we all make the remark more realistic when it comes to a 6 foot bloke running round in a bat outfit whispering wouldn’t get locked up at all in reality 😂
I can’t wait for the second one this Joker looks very very curious I think it could be amazing
I thought Matt reeves said jokers look was a congenital defect. He didn’t want to go the chemical burn or knife scarring route.
Cool Scene, Can't Wait to see more of Barry He Did Great.
THE Joker? THE Batman? It can't be a coincidence
That Arkham spinoff idea sounds dope.
home depot product really got me
Really reminds me of Joker drawn by Lee Bermerjo.
Yes
wait that paper clip comment was actually cool how do you notice shit like that lmao
