Hmm, I saw a 350k light sport. 315k light sport. LOL. Cheapest? Aerotrek A240 is actually 95k starting. Meaning it will run well into 120k. You called the low wing, a high wing. Sport star is 350k! This info is all wrong. AI generated??? CTLS? Try more like 140k! Rans, well, at least you are closer. Still going to hit 80k by the time you are done for a quality plane. Stol, try more like 80k or more finished. I'll stop there :) I suggest folks google each craft and see the reality of the pricing and even availability. You are still better off buying a nice old J3, Taylor Craft, or other vintage that falls under Sport Pilot/Light sport. A BEAUTIFUL restored J3 in mint condition, 50-70k. I'll take a cub all day over these other LS options.
The common factor for the still high prices for these simple planes is the Rotax engine. You are paying for a big company's overhead and share holders. That is why Sonex beat everyone.
