The ocean is fine but it’s where in the ocean you go. I would never do it anywhere there’s dangerous sea life like South Africa for example or because I’m not a strong swimmer. But plenty take out kayaks, long boats, canoes, dragon boats, and outriggers where I live with no problem. I’ll go in some of them but not a canoe as I find it too tippy for my liking.
@@craftycrafter1960 You can’t get too big with a canoe. You couldn’t do “giant” unless there’s a whole lot of you. And personally when I think of giant I think of whales and no one should hunt them. JMO of course.
People do all kinds of things. Not all hobbies and activities are made for everyone. There are people out there who can't understand what would possess someone to do anything at all in the ocean, regardless of what it is or what kind of vessel they are in...yet millions of people all over the world love being in the ocean nonetheless. Some people can't understand how anyone could possibly be entertained by watching baseball. But its still a very popular sport that millions and millions of people love to watch and play. To each their own.

Honestly the storm was the scariest, ofc sharks have their reputation but being on a boat facing a force that has no boundaries whatsoever just seems terrifying

That shark did not jump on the boat deliberately. He’s bleeding profusely from the mouth and there is a visible line. I’m gonna go with they fished him out of the ocean rather than the “jumping” narrative

And maybe because these “fishermen” are embarrassed by what they’ve done to the poor thing (most likely unable to pull out the hook and thus ripping the inside of his mouth 🤬), are they stating that the shark jumped on the boat. Yeah right… with these fences?! They’re a disgusting bunch of low lifes!

Am I the only one that found the ship in the storm to be the scariest out of all of these videos? Great white sharks, whales, sea lions, turtles etc.. All beautiful creatures but that ship would scare the shit out of me hahaha

It looks a bit more scary than it actually is. It’s little like airplane turbulence. Boats are specially designed to, not only ford those waves, but still make good time. One of the more scary ideas is they used to do that on a wooden boat 😳

One of my biggest fears is being stuck on a raft in the middle of the ocean and seeing a big storm coming.

@@jennross6466 the scum bag fishermen hooked and caught it. Poor thing that made me feel sick to see. I’m not against fishing or anything but in my opinion there’s a line. A creature like that should not be allowed to be fished, should have cut the line and let the poor guy go.

So the backdrop if the Swordfish story is that it was pissed off at Kanye West because it heard he was a Gay Fish on Southpark... I guess Kanye West asked the fish if he wanted to Cross Swords and Touch Tips. Well this made the Sworsfish extremely irate I guess.
A few years back my cousin and I spent a week at Cooktown in Northern Queensland. Each day we went out fishing the sharks would arrive as soon as we started catching fish but on one occasion we had a great white we estimated at about 3 metres ram our boat 4 times. The boat was probably around 25 metres in length and despite the massive "dead weight" it would have been in the water, we could clearly feel the impact. They are incredibly powerful and amazing creatures.

I think this is a valuable lesson to respect the seas and all of its might. Also please folks, it’s ok to have an encounter with marine life but stay a distance if you can. Let them come to you. It’s not a good thing to race towards them. Let them be. And being quiet is good too. These creatures have hearing that a human can’t comprehend. Even slight noises can really upset marine life because their hearing is so finely tuned to hear underwater. Especially dolphins. Have fun but be aware of their characteristics. ❤️

He started to relax and laugh toward the end. I know whale sharks aren’t aggressive but they are large animals and we are in their world when we enter the sea. I guess I don’t know how I’d react in his situation. I might be afraid too. Kick ass memory though.
When I was a wee lad back in the 70s, one of the tabloids in England posted a truly horrific full-color article about a guy who had been attacked by a hammerhead. Showed him (what was left of him on a boat deck swimming in blood, huge chunks taken out of his legs and torso. Scarred me for life.

Me too on both. And that was a sea lion not a seal, we have a lot of them where I live. They’re much bigger than seals. But we also have seals.

Sharks are mindless beasts with awful eyesight. Most of the time they don't know what the hell they are even biting. All they know is that it may or may not be food. Literally one of the lowest IQ predators on the planet.

I always been afraid to swim in the ocean. Especially here in CA where you literally can’t see inside the water, or open your eyes when you are under water.
I wouldn't open my eyes on land if I was in California.

The Sea Turtle at #3 was silly. I've experienced that 5 or 6 times myself. I have a picture of me giving one a high five. The storm swell visual mixed with the fear of the boat being capsized while dealing with motion sickness would definitely top the list for me. Although I have been kayaking in Tomales Bay, CA and seen a Great White surface about a 100 feet away going for a seagull and it scared the crap out of me. I didn't even want to paddle. I just waited quietly for about 5 minutes until a small boat came by and I flagged him down and got a ride to the docks.
#6 by far is the most scary. One sec your on top of the water the next your 100 feet down…

The one with the shark stuck on the boat was horrible. I wish they would stop showing that. Im not big on sharks but what they did was dangerous and cruel.
Makos have a tendency to jump a lot so I think that's what happened but they should release it
They didn't do anything. The shark did it all on its own. It jumped onto the boat. Im sure that they figured out how to free it, tho it most likely was not an easy task since that shark was heavy and thrashing around. But it's not fair to assume that they did purposely did something cruel to it.
@@mattjack3983 There was fishing line coming out of its mouth, so it was probably the peoples fought for it jumping onto the boat.
Yeah, you can see the fishing line in the video and the shark's mouth is bleeding. If you're going to kill it, do it quickly and painlessly as possible so it doesn't suffer. Otherwise, cut loose and let it go back into the ocean.

My great grandpa was a sailor and passed down stories of encounters he had while out at sea. Maybe that’s why I don’t go into the water at the beach. Just lay out on the sand
When he was a fisherman they didn’t have boats chumming the waters close to shore so tourists could see sharks,beaches were much safer back then because sharks were in their hunting grounds.
P.S I have surfed most of my life in Cape Town which has a huge population of great whites and never been attacked,seen a few fins and run on water leaving a brown trail behind me though.

I never go for a swim unless it's in a pool the ocean is very unpredictable
I'll stick to to swimming in a lake or swimming pool. A fish out of the water is out of it's natural element and cannot succeed just as people leave land and went in the ocean and now they are out of their natural element, land. I'll leave the ocean to the marine life and creatures it was created for, it's out of my element and I don't belong there. The ocean is amazingly beautiful to look at and interesting , its God's creation !

The Hump Back and calf, nature at it's best. Stopped in at the Head of the Bight off the Nullabor Road house South Australia in September 2006 an annual event. From a cliff edge platform watched 135 Humpbacks with 29 calves in the bay. 100 feet away watching a calf at play around it's mother, they just cruised around for an hour, beautiful memory.
Whale was like “feeling bored might go human watching today”
That last one of the humpback and it's calf gave me ALL the feels man. To be there ... WOW ... that must've been something! :)
I studied sharks for years and know how to defend myself, but let’s be real. Your brain would short- circuit only by being aware that there’s a giant 18 feet- long predator in the same waters as you. Thus you won’t be brave enough to face them. Only them moment at 0:07 was enough to terrify me

Whale sharks can't eat humans. It's just playing with him. If you get swallowed somehow still it will either spit you out or you'll both die of suffocation.

Ever since I was a young boy and reading the picture book of Pinnochio and seeing Gepetto being swallowed by a whale and being trapped inside, I've always been creeped out by that happening! That guy was probably thinking the same, terrified he was going to still be alive inside a whale, after it swallows him and swims off into the ocean. 🤣😱

Il never forget surfing in cap may I was about 40 yards of shore sitting on my board waiting for a nice set . When to right on my eye about 3 feet away a huge white and grey head popped up and looked at me with its softball black eye . Biggest great white I ever seen and it saw I was to slimy to eat thank god

I"ve heard that some cultures consider whales to be our ancestors as a spiritual belief and it sounds pretty surreal but then again whales seem to be the only mammals on this earth that seem to have an unconditional love and respect for humans when many of us give them every reason to resent and fear us.

#6 It’s crazy to think Vikings used to travel the North Sea frequently in the 8th-11th centuries…many probably perished in storms like those.
If we dive in the Northern Sea and find tons of bones and shipwrecks, then you're probably right and Vikings are badasses.
@@johngona5929 Well we know for a fact that the Northmen (Scandinavian “Vikings”) did travel the North Sea in their longships when they moved to raid/colonize lands like England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern France, etc. They were adept seamen and their ships were uniquely able to tackle the ocean as well as river systems. However, massive storms would surely have destroyed some of these ships. However, like you said, diving and finding them would be difficult. I wonder if anyone has ever tried to find remains of these legendary ships. I’m sure someone has tried.

I been a commercial fisherman for 29 years the scariest thing is gale winds and violent seas the rest is beautiful sea creatures and sunsets and sunrises you will never forget 👍

When snorkeling in the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic we always stayed aware of our surroundings because there are things out there that will eat you.
All of these moments are awesome, but I am mostly in awe of sharks. I just love them, magnificent creatures that needs to be respected.

15th one easily looks like a scene from some dope hit realistic CGI bearing shark movie. I mean the the stormy weather, scary waves, dark atmosphere, a ship in the middle of nowhere and ooh there's a shark that doesn't look much happy. Nightmarish material.

The whale encounters weren’t scary , they were incredible spectacles of nature’s finest creatures . Giants of the sea.
Please don’t go petting seals. They can be very aggressive (I’m speaking from first hand experience). Luckily this one was chilled.
Yeah their mouths are full of crazy bacteria I believe. The wound from the bite would be bad, but the after-effects even worse.

I see people here in South Florida kayak out in the ocean and through the intercostal. Crazy but they do.
I was on vacation in Sarasota last summer, and we went kayaking through the mangroves and that took us out to this bay. But it was all saltwater. It was beautiful, was only about 3-4 feet of water the whole time until we got out to the bay, where it got really windy so we turned around and went back.
@@carieevans3787 Fun yes. Risky? yes. We have territorial alligators & crocodiles who are predators in all bodies of water including the ocean. I kayak in a local state park and keep my eyes out and my ears aware.
