  • Best game I’ve seen this season - college or pro. I’m NC A&T Aggie through and through. Love what Deion has brought to the table for ALL HBCUs. But I never had a a better time rooting for the Eagles. Salute Coach Trei Oliver,his staff and the hard working young men.

  • I was at that game and the energy was through the roof for both teams. Jackson State took us into overtime but OUR NCCU EAGLES got the job done. I would like to also thank Coach Prime for all he has done for HBCU FOOTBALL.

  • N.C.Central is not the SWAC,. We're the MEAC. There's a reason the MEAC has dominated this bowl game. Congratulations to North Carolina Central University for a successful season and representation of the MEAC. On another note, Deion Sanders is to be commended, not only for his outstanding coaching at JSU, but also the attention he brought to HBCUs. Thank you Mr. Sanders.

  • Very well said Stephen A. Smith. I’m glad that you acknowledged that Deion didn’t have a job offer from any college football program and JSU gave him that opportunity. You could’ve also said that it gave Shedeur the spotlight too because he wasn’t a top recruit for big schools. They did a lot for JSU and JSU did a lot for them.

    • I agreed with remaining to coach the game, and still do. But seeing this game, you wonder whether going back and forth between Boulder and Jackson (or back and forth anywhere) made it such a distraction, where the concentration wasn't there. Jackson State had the best NBCU defense in the land, but sure didn't tackle, today. A lot of blown coverages and the line, on both sides, got blown off of scrimmage by NC Central.

  • Deion Sanders drama overshadowed how well NCCU played #11 #4 #12 #5, plus a big OL, their Defense fired off the ball every snap, putting pressure on the QB, and Special teams pulled a trick out the bag to keep the drive alive, #28 just didn’t have a answer for Hunter, plus JSU score on 2 blown coverage plays, Hats off to NCCU and Coach Trei Oliver and their performance as a TEAM!

  • Trei Oliver did a great coaching job v Deion. And NCCU totally outplayed Jackson State. I love the exposure Deion gave to HBCU football. At the same time, this game also put HBCUs on the map. One of the best college games of the year.

When you coach against a 13-0 team whose coach has been hired by a FBS team and you win the game, that coach should be getting some looks from FBS teams. Central has no superstar players which means that if you get really good players and "coach them up", that is a formula for success.
