Law-Abiding Family of Swans Cross Road at Pedestrian Crossing
An adorable and law-abiding family of black swans and their baby swans have learned to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing in Maryborough a town in Victoria, Australia.
According to local resident Jan Allemand, the mom, dad and their four fluffy baby birds have become a regular sight around town as they go about their daily activities.
Allemand said the swans usually stroll through town on their way to the lake, and the cygnets sometimes stop to take a dip in puddles along the way.
In this video, the swan family is seen crossing the road with some help from locals while holding up traffic.

Not that surprising, all things considered.

Dirty puddle.

I like how every time the adults paused, the cygnets would immediately sit down.
My favourite part is the cygnet at 00:27 who steps into the puddle and is like "Oh, we're here.." so sits down.

Exactly . In London drivers would start beeping their horns and revving their engines because they're pricks .
And here in America, some millennial would've ran them over while texting and then blamed the person they were texting
Jay B No that is a huge generalization of a generation of which I belong to, and I would never harm an animal if it were not necessary for food or self defense !
If it was in India, the driver would never bother or have any Patience to wait for the Ducklings to Cross the road, instead he would use a 4 Letter word.
In Russia the road would cross the ducks..

@robbie G the babies haven't shed thier juvenile feathers yet. It's similar to how penguins are born puffy and fluffly then over time, shed the coat and are slim and slicker.

I cant even understand it how some drivers can just run over birds! I find dead pigeons on the road in the center of the city each day (Poland). Those people have some brain damage or like killing harmless creatures?
Annelize Buitendach Will never forget the time I waited for a mother duck and her only duckling to cross the road and someone else didn’t...
I believe in the UK if you hit a swan with your car then the queen kills your entire family. Correct me if I'm wrong.
In the south its the same way, its not common but when it happens, traffic knows better, until the Geese and ducklings are safe across, we wait.
Oh.... No words at all to express my feelings. My appreciations to drivers who respects the innocent crossing.
In America, it's a whole different story🤦♀️ So glad I'm not from that country.

Hi see you my cannel
March 18, 2021. You might not want swans being your neighbor. They can be dangerous. See if you can find my other post made today telling of my experience with swans. A woman I knew who had a private lake by their home and owned swans was beaten black and blue by her swan.
Thanks to the humans who helped the swans and their family cross the road. Road kill in Australia is a huge problem due to habitat lose and fragmentation from land clearing and development.
I can't really imagine that is an issue in Australia. It has so much space where humans don't live. Does roadkill really have an influence on the animalnpopulations there? I live in the netherlands where real wilderness doesn't exist anymore. I don't mean it as mocking you, I am just curious how roadkill is a problem there (never been to Australia)
@@karentjuhh101 Hi Zebratje, Thanks for taking an interest in Aussie wildlife. Probably the simplest thing to do would be to google "road kill in Australia" you will find a number of articles about this topic come up. I hope that they will help explain the situation for you. If you go to my youtube channel you will find a video called "emma cares about birds" which may provide you with some more information, please take the time to read the video description also. All the best.
@@pandanuscreekfilms6841 thanks, I will check it out
@@karentjuhh101 Hi again, I hope you don't mind me replying again, its just that your question was so important I took the time to ask a local wildlife rescue organisation about road kill/injury in their area (population 85 000 humans, over an area of 1,321 square kms farms, small communities and coastal villages), and they just got back to me, here is what they replied. In the 6 months (July 2018 to December 2018) they had call outs to help 2300 wild animals, of these 1100 were blunt trauma incidents which they attributed to road injuries. As a comparison, other traumas like flying into building windows were numbered at 50 animals). They told me this number of 1100 animals did not include the ones found dead on the road which they don't include in their statistics. They conservatively estimated that for each blunt trauma statistic there is another 9 more animals that died on impact which arn't included in their count. They said there is a lot of competition for living space between humans who want to live in the same places wildlife need to. Development and roads linking towns etc is a main cause of habitat loss and fragmentation. Thank you once again for your interest and all the best!
@@pandanuscreekfilms6841 I don't mind at all. Thank you for looking up this information! That is indeed a lot of roadkill and injuries unfortunately.
Great video! I remember way back in the 1980s one day I was driving in Holloway Rd. North London UK. A dog...a Border Collie walked along the sidewalk and stopped facing the street at a pedestrian crossing point just like this one. When the traffic had stopped in all directions, it crossed and all without the company of any humans. My guess is that in the past a handler had done it with this dog and over time the dog could now do it for itself!
Какая прелесть. Спасибо добрым людям за помощь. 💖💖💖

So smart, never underestimate a dog, it might even have been a trained companion dog?!

The fact that the husband still stay after the wife's pregnancy amazed me. Unlike cats.
Unlike some humans 😉. Cats are a toss-up. Some male cats can’t be trusted around kittens (including lions). Other tomcats are doting dads; they wince when mama kitties deliver that solid love swat. The author Colette wrote some lovely pieces about the unpredictability of all of throughout this life
Males be going to buy milk in all species
Loyal for life unlike human monsters..... there I corrected your typo!
Cats get separated.. Then the kittens have issues adjusting and it doesn't help that stupid people try to interfere.. Which makes it worse and makes it feel like the father cat is being cucked.
My last cats ran away and took their BB's sometimes when I tried to spay the girl. I caught up with them and they're still together and loyal to each other.
