man city football his love for Liverpool hindered his career, sometimes I wonder what people would think of him had he left. He's one of the best midfielders ever, but could he have been the best midfielder ever if he'd gone to Madrid when they approached and been a galactico.

man city football yeah he was too loyal to us, we never surround him with quality except for one season with Suarez. He could have had multiple premier league titles with Chelsea or left to join Real Madrid, but he stayed loyal to us, which just speaks volumes about his character. 99 per cent of players would have left Liverpool and chased glory but not this guy, that’s why he is Liverpool and he runs the city.
I love when pundits can get along. Especially the biggest legends (Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand, Shearer, Wright & Lineker)

@@hurera2000 gerrard has less appearances than lampard and he also played deeper than him as a more box to box cm, whereas lampard was often a cam right behind the striker. It was easier for him to get into goalscoring positions like that. Both are legends though

Players like him and Carra valued being a Liverpool legend more than winning trophies. I for one do not feel sorry that SG couldn't win more trophies. At the end of the day, he is our legend commanding respect all around the world.

Many great midfielders but for me the way Gerrard took so many games by the scruff off the neck and totally changed the dynamic of the game makes him a legend forever. I think when I'm 100 I'll still get goosebumps remembering how he changed games.
Every Liverpool fan who watched Steven Gerrard in his prime will always say that he's the best midflieder ever, if not the best player. He shoots from distance, his range of pass, his heading, his vision, penalties, free kicks, his tackles, he's got the big body for battling shoulder to shoulder, he was absolutely beast for Liverpool

So true about Carra. Gerrard wore the armband but Carra was just as important to the captaincy, if not moreso. He never let anybody step out of line, meanwhile Gerrard led by example and lifted everyone with his mere presence.
