However it’s really all about getting a real good tune on these cars ..which is what I have along with the BO’s that I have on my car…oh yeah real good sticky tires help tremendously…

  • First two minutes were really confusing and ill informed. Fwd cars usually benefit from a rear sway bar to create oversteer and lose grip in the rear in order to swing out around while in a corner so you can straighten and power out upon corner exit especially on tighter corners. Ask me how I know

    @garrettluluquisin5666@garrettluluquisin56663 жыл бұрын
    • TL;DR The understeer under power will help correct oversteer.

      @garrettluluquisin5666@garrettluluquisin56663 жыл бұрын
    • I'm pretty sure I did one of the best explanations on why front wheel drive is objectively wrong wheel drive. Mate, every car has a rear sway bar lol. And no, that's not how most fwd cars are set up, it's only ever a mere slither of them, such as the mk7 Fiesta ST. Fwd cars are instriniscly designed to understeer, it's the safest option for most cars, and with the power going to the front, you can't steer. I'm not sure if you know much about the mazdaspeed 3s, but they are understeer prone in stock form

      @LifeOfTuners@LifeOfTuners3 жыл бұрын
    • @@LifeOfTuners all cars are prone to understeer in stock form. Its the safest and easiest to understand for the average joe. Due to physics and weight transfer, most of the brake bias is towards the front. When I say rear sway bar I mean a thicker thus stiffer bar. That is implied. Most econobox fwd are macpherson front with a torsion beam in the rear such as the fiesta/mazda 2, honda fit, some of the newer mazda 3’s, etc. Even properly setup golden age civics and integras will have a stiffer rear. People even say when you oversteer in an fwd car you can catch it by powering out. You can’t initially turn in and start mashing it, but if you oversteer just enough you can start to accelerate on exit early to correct the car and have a faster exit speed than other cars. Watch some fwd rally cars or even some fwd on tighter courses. GTI and civic guys for example recommend thicker read sway bars in the list of handling mods and mazda 2/fiesta/fit guys use a torsion bar to stiffen up the beam and increase torsional rigidity of the rear

    • @@LifeOfTuners in regards to using percentage of grip in a ratio between cornering grip and throttle application (putting down power), it’s not as simple or linear as it may seem. FWD cars can still put power down as they corner. Depending on how the car approaches the corner (and sort of contradicting my previous comment) you can still accelerate during turn in. Just depends on the racing line

      @garrettluluquisin5666@garrettluluquisin56663 жыл бұрын
    • I mean yeah, same with the speed 3s, thiccer rear sway bars make a BIG change, induces a bit of lift off oversteer. But from factory it understeers and that's a negative

  • I don't agree with your Idea that rear-wheel-drive cars go better around corners.. Each car you showed with the rear-wheel-drive was a long wheelbase, put that into a short wheelbase and see them spin, your issue is that with a front-wheel-drive short wheelbase is you need to adapt to that chassis.

    @chrisday1590@chrisday15903 жыл бұрын
    • Its more the physics of tyre grip, the front tyres can only have a certain amount of grip, but they have to accelerate and corner. Where as a rwd can split that. Yes a lot of FWD cars can handle better then some rwd Its just that on a technical level, techniquely fwd platforms are less capable, in theory

      @LifeOfTuners@LifeOfTuners3 жыл бұрын
