Met this dude at West Hollywood library during free screening of TANGERINE. Absolute gentleman. I came close to begging to help out in any way I could with whatever he was working on at the time. He thanked me and told me they weren't local but down Florida working on a project there😄😄
Honestly he's one of the best directors of this century
There aren't a lot of directors like Sean Baker with its humane and humble approach, one that I can recall is only Richard Linklater...
Nice connection I hadn't thought about!
I love Sean Baker! He has tremendous talent. I can't wait to see what else does over the years.
Sean Baker is the man.
Great talk! Thanks for playing the clips Sean was discussing about (which I think were not available in the previous talks).
That explanation for the ending is something I've never really thought about before, so the movie had just become even more magical for me than before and I've said this four times already possibly each time I pick up more subtle hints in it. Also, can't believe people didn't talk about "Starlet"'s ending, which I think was a very unpredictable character reveal (well, because the movie was already ending). It has a great impact on what you understand from the movie, too (it's too much of a spoiler to say more). I guess people just haven't watched it, yet.
Pure inspiration
Sean, I love that you edit, too. Oh and where in Jersey did you grow up :)
Incredible
