What's your favourite Robert Eggers feature film, The Witch or The Lighthouse?
The Lighthouse
Lighthouse, definitely. The Witch creeps me out lol
I love The Lighthouse, I really do, but I’m going with The Witch. The allure of the story and its mythos lives beyond the fade to black, for me. The Lighthouse is definitely a graduation of craft though.
The Lighthouse
Absolutely the light house.....
What's great about this is how he describes building a film based on a wide variety of resources - history, literature, art, humanities - and a knowledge of story itself. He didn't mention much using other movies.
I love that Robert really thinks about representing chosen period accurately and his movies are extremely impressive because of it. Someone give him all the money he needs for his creations, a living legend.
Love how he started by stating that he felt very comfortable speaking in front of large audiences, and then proceeded to be extremely uncomfortable. 😂
I just watched his film; THE NORTHMAN! It was just Mind Blowing!!!
Yer fond of me Lobster, ain’t ye?
I have read all of the important books and watched all of the documentaries on Stanley Kubrick and I am convinced that Robert is the next director that is going to build on what Stanley was doing and move it forward into the future. I'm probably not the only person that sees it. I think Robert is going to be one of the greatest film makers to ever do it. A few films from now the world will know it. He is going to be one of the big names that everyone knows.
You can tell he’s a bit nervous but that’s totally ok because I would be too lol
both are absolute genius filmmaking. this kid gets it.
I love this guy! I was really "bewitched" by The Witch and was surprised how young he is. I need to see The Lighthouse, not sure why I haven't yet. I can't wait to see The Northman!
This is a masterclass of one of the best filmmakers of this time
Either the mics can't pick up the laughs or tough crowd!!! "Afterwards, went mad he did!" 😋😋 I thought this was really interesting! 🙇♂️🙇♂️
Cant wait to see what this guy does next
Eggers is my spirit animal
