  • Brass knuckles thing.. Honestly just about any weapon that can be rapidly deployed and is instantly effective is going to have some form of regulation, for instance butterfly knives. People don't give brass knuckles due credit for how damaging they can be, and while yes, their full effect is in the hands of a trained user, that is the same for any weapon. The main thing about knuckles, especially those shown above, wear as a knife leaves relatively easy to seal gashes and slashes, or even stab wounds which can be healed from rapidly, knuckles can fracture bone, and are known to tear off large chunks of flesh and leave ragged wounds that may never fully heal. Weapons are usually made illegal if the police don't want to have said weapon used against them. And brass knuckles are a terrifying weapon to be on the receiving end of, they are wholly underrated in how much damage they inflict. *Police do lobby for the removal from the public of any weapon they do not wish to risk confronting, in the United States firearms are an exception for the reasons you are already aware of and however you feel about that is your own business.

  • I actually have that knife before I saw it in this video. Great knife. I use for work all the time. I definitely recommend it.

    @FGCVJ@FGCVJ11 ай бұрын
  • That first one is useless. You can't put it under your sleeve as it swipes out from the side rather than popping up. Because of this, it would get caught on your sleeve never making it out. It would only work if you wear it in a way where it's 1000% not hidden. Meaning it defeats it's own purpose. At that point you might as well just have a pouch under your sleeve that you can open via a string to drop down a normal knife. Not only that, it doesn't have a locking mechanism. Which means if you go to stab something, it pushes the blade back which takes away ~80% of it's potential penetrating force.

    @Hadeks_Marow@Hadeks_Marow Жыл бұрын
    • Clearly you CAN stab stuff with it. They showed that IN THE VIDEO. Did you not pay attention to the video?!

      @protoborg@protoborg Жыл бұрын
    • @@protoborg What they stabbed was fruit, which has low penetration resistance. Meaning you don't need much of any potential penetrating force. Hell, I can "stab" through I fruit with just my finger WITHOUT that silly ring blade (seen later in the video as a separate product) either. I never said it can't stab anything, I said it loses ALOT of it's potential penetrating force. By the logic you provided, you "can" stab something with a paper straw you get from mcdonalds and in "some" circumstances it actually will penetrate depending on the fortitude of the object you are attempting to stab. Hell, anything "can" stab if that's your bare to entry. A blade of grass can "stab" through tissue paper. Same could be said about a literally stick (that snaps easily) you find in the woods, even that would stab through that fruit. A locking mechanism adds sturdiness which gives it higher penetrating force meaning it will either not detract on hit and remain firm or pierce materials that have an even greater fortitude (or break apart depending on the build quality of the retractable device). What that translates to is it will have less resistance when trying to penetrate making it able to potentially go as far as going all the way through an empty soda can. Without locking, it's dampering it. Essentially adding suspension to the impact. This means less force pushed forward.

Although non-folding knives are legal any knife that opens automatically, with gravity, centrifugal force or a one-handed method is highly illegal. These get stopped at the border. In the United States it varies from state to state so be sure to investigate for yourself and consider carefully if you want to buy something that will get you arrested if you are caught with it in a neighbouring state.

You can hold them different ways but it is still going to hurt, either you palm or fingers. If the pain is worth it to protect yourself so be it, but there are many better options to the knucks.

It was quite thin too.

You can even punch a concrete wall with them without hurting yourself. On the other side you can easily crush somebody skull with those things. I would be super careful using those.

However-your still going to absorb the kinetic energy of whatever round is fired. 357 and 44 mag will still put you in bad shape even without bullet penetration. And the 12ga most likely fatal. Like standing in front of a Mack truck doing 40mph. It won't penetrate but you'll still absorb the force. Get a trauma plate with it to help with the big stuff.

As Iv been stopped by police twice for have a visible vest. A jacket or sweater tends to print more and overheats quick. So unless it's winter I'd recommend getting a carpenter vest jacket from Walmart or Amazon. Get one that doesn't look tactical as the whole point it to look non threatening. Another thing I wish I knew before getting a kevlar vest is that instead of getting a pistol rated vest it's actually cheaper to get rifle rated armor with trauma pads. It's a little bit heavier but it's more comfortable as you can get more of a breeze with a plate carrier then a kevlar vest.

It uses a gel and chemical propellant instead which is way faster, has more range etc. And carry an optional pepper spray can instead. 3. Body armor ...well yeah... I want to see the person who weras that EVERY DAY anywhere you go, because if you don´t, what´t the point ? 4. A mechanical knife ....whyyy ? 5. A ring which will probably brake your finger ... Use brass knuckles if you can´t because of law restrictions use a pad lock the same way. 6. A bracelet DIYed yeah okay. 7. A knife ...well it´s a knife .... 8. A multy function glass braker, yeah sure why not. 9. Double brass knuckles ...cool .....however most places these are illegal if these are legal you are probably in the US which begs the question why you woudln´t carry a gun instead. 10. A small slingshot, this thing is sure fun but self defense ? Most likely not. 11. A crossbow for self defense ? ....Do I even need to comment here. 12. Stun thingy ...yeah just use stuff which you know works this looks more like a toy or something. I am sure it hurs and but why not use a Taser pistol instead ? The cops use it for a reason. Honestly all of these "gadgets" are stupid knick knacks. Here is the most likely scenario either you can legally carry a gun or a knife or you are in a restricted environment in which case not weapon every day items are useful. Use a pad lock as brass knuckles, a small expendable wrench as a baton, your belt with a heavy metal belt buckle and similar completely legal items instead. You can kill a person with a pad lock just like with brass knuckles it´s not like non weapon items are harmless or less effective, they are not. All terror attacks in Europe where knifes were use KITCHEN knifes were used. So be smart, don´t buy this Chinese junk which already looks questionable.

  • 1st product: novelty cosplay. Non functional as a real weapon, and it opens through an arm-swing method rather than spring loaded. Therefore, not concealable within your arm's sleeve, otherwise it wouldn't work at all. It's also made of plastic. The reference to assassins creed is far fetched as it doesn't operate the same and requires a ring-string trigger system. 2nd product: pepper spray gun (not bullets) with UV dye "to help police find the suspect". I missed the part where police carry UV lights. Some individuals have an unusually high capsicum tolerance, or can power through it under duress, which makes it questionable as a weapon vs being a deterrent. The gun only functions as a novelty pepper spray device, it doesn't actually shoot any projectiles whatsoever and can't be classified past "water pistol". 3rd product: bullet proof vest. Let me splash some water on it and use a cooking knife to slash it to show you how durable it is. 4th product: literally just a raptor knife that you hold in reverse, that "pops out" on demand. Nothing too special here. I'm actually not even going to comment on the rest, it's so self-explanatory. None of these defense "weapons" are either weapons, or actually legal to possess in most places, and their practicality is highly questionable compared to known methods of subduing threats.

The only time a bladed weapon is not excessive (comparative to a blunt or stun weapon) are instances where a greater weapon is involved, like a gun, in which case, the knife would be useless anyways. “He put his hand on me so i slit his throat.” Thats not defense, thats retaliation. Ok, I take it back, there is ONE SINGLE INSTANCE: Attack from wild animal/zombie/drugged up person who might as well be a zombie with how they attack aimlessly in attempt to kill. None of these being the standard case you would buy a self defense weapon for.

    • @@Hadeks_Marow and if the gunman tries to rob me WITH a gun he will be close enough for me to go to work. Learn hand to hand so you can get to whatever tool is needed. I have no room to say anymore as I'm just someone still in a defensive class. I have some physical disabilities so i need to use any means necessary to get home. I've learned the gun but tremors aren't letting me feel safe carrying it. That's why I'm learning self defense and SOME knife training. Not saying you're wrong but based on everything i know/ learning is best to have something more than just a gun. Either mma or some other defensive tool...

  • The toughest guys in the world always say. The best self-defense is to avoid the fight or escape. Many people have died in street fights.

  • Karambits were NOT made for self-defense. They were originally a farming tool that was weaponized. When they weaponized it, it served as primarily an assassination tool.

  • Nothing like a mini fishline bola of fish weights and tiny four prong hooks thrown at the legs to stop a fight and chase. Tiny hurt.. massive stopping power. Same as bear shot rubber slugs from a flare gun or shotgun.

  • This one had a few pretty cool items in it. Usually, I see these 'self-defense' gadget videos, and they're so full of cringe. Most of the time, the gadgets will just enrage an attacker, drastically increasing your chance of severe injury or death. Personally, I run a 2 part self-defense. Pepper spray for those easily deterred, and a 18+1 round 9x19 firearm for those that don't understand 'NO'. Fortunately, I've not needed either so far, but I always make sure that if I leave the house, my sidearm is on my hip, loaded. Sometimes I forget the pepper spray though, but I do try to remember it.

    • Screw that! A hefty walking stick is very effective as it can do serious damage while still being fully legal to carry around with you. 1) Jab the attacker in the the face. 2) Thwomp them on the head. 3) Run! OR 1) Whack them in the side of the head. 2) Turn and hit across the top of the head. 3) Run!
