    • @@Toorin69 that's actually a huge part of getting better. In reality, it is super helpful to spar guys that are worse, the same, and better than you for varying reasons. Sparring lower guys is super important and helpful because that is when you can be playful, experimental, and work on your B-game. Same is super helpful for pushing each other and keeping healthy competition between gym-mates. Going against better is either a healthy challenge or a great opportunity to learn from someone who knows how to modulate their speed and power and are intelligent in what openings they purposefully leave you to help you get better.

    @damienblackmore5318@damienblackmore53182 жыл бұрын
    • I highly doubt you know anything about this gym or the people. That "beat down" was needed to help him understand the intensity of a fight they also weren't head hunting, yea a couple of solid punches from both of them to the head though

    • @@xxxTAPOUTxxxify A beat down is not helpful. This was disgusting.when I spar with guys less skillful than me, I go easy. I challenge them, but don’t humiliate them. When they get out of line, I humble them. But, I don’t puff myself up and beat them down. There is always someone tougher than you. I hate bullies.

      @uvic4027@uvic40272 жыл бұрын
    • I highly disagree, in the gym you should always have partners of 3 levels, bellow you, same skill set, and way better than u, is the best way to improve, that "beat down" will give him experience

      @fortunatosamuel2520@fortunatosamuel25202 жыл бұрын
    • @@fortunatosamuel2520 Nothing is gained by beating someone down. The beat down is an antiquated, gang method of initiation and programming. Discipline, physical training , proper sparring, and technical training will condition a man without having to abuse the man.

  • yeah blue went hard and people are complaining about it but this is the nature of combat sports, there will always be gym bullies and egos, i've been on both ends. The reality is you need occasional sparring matches like this to become better (especially if you plan on fighting), and the dude in orange shorts will, he was game the whole time in spite of everything. He'll train harder and become better than his opponent. It's a really tough cycle but a necessary one if you want to become a fighter.

    • Just rewatching this, actually this was a good sparring session, yes blue was better, but they both have heart, and if red is serious about fighting you need these sessions, I wouldn’t say this was bullying, he showed respect and didn’t take advantage at many times he could have, that’s a bully, this was just a case that blue was better and likes to go hard, nothing wrong with that, this is Muay Thai, it’s no joke, MT is a beautiful but brutal martial art. Blue shorts put him down with a lovely left hook to the body around 2.40, it’s good to see MT fighters use these shots, I feel lots of MT boxing skills are not developed enough, MT is not just kicking and grappling, there’s a great diversity in the art, if your sparring drop these sneaky hooks to the body in, add a jumping / superman punch, mix it up, pure boxing is part of MT, often it seems boxing skills are neglected, this looks like Mexico maybe? we all know left hook to the body is a Mexican jewel, think Chavez, Barrera, love that hook to the body, catch it with correct timing it’s a KO punch, very nice, good session, but can’t spar like this all the time, good session though, fair play to both of them

      @SandaBoxing@SandaBoxing2 жыл бұрын
    • @@SandaBoxing Yes sure, but demolishing someone lesser than you is unnecessary and doesn't produce skill any more than going 50-70% power. There is a higher risk of injury. In matches like these there are only value that the bigger guy can train to go all out if he hurts his opponent for example. But this doesn't simulate the same level when they are still both in similar strength. In the long run you'll be eventually CTE will be developed from continuous brain trauma (assuming you spar hard that is, and are on the receiving end most of the time).

  • Is that really good to have hard sparring in Muay Thai? I trained thaiboxing sens i was around 5 years untill 12 and never had hard sparring exept when we did boxing only. We used to have some sort of fun sparring with relaxing body movement but when we trained for real we just did clinching alot with boxers who weight more then use to train our strenght. About the same when i grew up and went back to my home, Thailand and trained at Windy Sport, we did almost the same. I think its two edged of the sword when you do this kind of hard sparring. What do u guys think?

    @phaethaya@phaethaya2 жыл бұрын
    • It's very bad to do hard sparring often, but I think it's good to do once in a while. 95% of all sparring should be light and technical, but there are some things about real fighting that you can't learn from light sparring only.

      @paultaylor6774@paultaylor67742 жыл бұрын
    • The difference is that in Thailand they fight ALOT more often than in western countries. Therefore they don't rely on hard sparring and also hard sparring always has the risk of injuries. As just about all of the Thai fighters fight to support their families they cannot risk getting injured in training.

  • Looks like one guy is way better and beating the crap out of the other guy. Looks like two different gyms maybe getting together. Egos involved. If they are from the same Gym, that is terrible. I've been there when I was fighting Muy Thai 30 years ago though. When I was 50 I was still going to a local boxing Gym. I was the guy in orange then! Much better being the beater than the beatee!
