Jwala Gutta, despite being 31 in 2014 when this Commonwealth Games was held, performed to her best along with team mate Ashwini against Singapore which has always been quite strong in Table Tennis and not in Badminton. India should have won this match with ease given its better track record in winning medals at the Asian and South Asian Games. Thanks to PV Sindhu who filled to the vacuum left by Gutta.

Both Jwala and Ashwini are equally skill full players. However, it’s one dimensional. Jwala is good at the net and Ashwini always at the back line smashing. The longer games goes the smash intensity reduces from Ashwini and produces unforced errors. The winners at the net from Jwala are more compared to winners from Ashwini smash. So much to learn from each game and tactical corrections.

India should have won this match with ease given its better track record in winning medals at the Asian and South Asian Games. Thanks to PV Sindhu who filled to the vacuum left by Gutta.

Both Jwala and Ashwini are equally skill full players. However, it’s one dimensional. Jwala is good at the net and Ashwini always at the back line smashing. The longer games goes the smash intensity reduces from Ashwini and produces unforced errors. The winners at the net from Jwala are more compared to winners from Ashwini smash. So much to learn from each game and tactical corrections.
