A lot of immortal songs came 1984. Incredible this song will be 40 years old 2024. Amazing!
@sannaeriksson78702 ай бұрын
I was 13 in 1984, 40 years ago, wow. Makes me think what was 40 years before 1984, that would be 1944. I think often that this last 40 years, not too much has changed compared to the 40 years from 1944 to 1984. Music, fashion, etc changed drastically from 1944 to 1984, I would say much more so than from 1984 to 2024. People are still wearing blue jeans, t-shirts, and listening to synth music.
@user-en9qd5nx8w2 ай бұрын
@@user-en9qd5nx8w The technology has transformed everything since 1984 though. And, musically, you miss out the house and dance scenes of the mid-to-late 1980s and early 1990s which have been tremendously influential. People were wearing jeans and T-shirts in the 1950s and the first flickerings of the synth scene, which rose to giddy heights in the 1980s, were first felt in the 1960s. The platform shoes, kipper ties and flared trousers of the 1960s and 1970s were actually revivals of 1930s and 1940s fashions. Many things you think were fresh and new in the decades before 1984 were not. I was in my mid-20s in 1984. Believe me, things have changed drastically.

Never regret the decisions you made because no one knew which was the best. This is told to you by an old man who has lived through many experiences and has achieved successes and failures. And the best of my life is when I loved and was loved. Now, in the fall of my life, I only live on memories. Very good memories, by the way.

I was sitting in a bar on Christmas Eve many, many years ago by myself. It was around 10pm and the place was full of people mingling, I was the only one sitting alone. This song came on. I remember leaving the bar while walking through fresh snow to my house, thinking about the song. It was such a surreal experience. I was 26. Now I'm...old.

I was 20 when this song was released. It’s timeless but oh how I don’t know where actual time has gone to. So many twists and turns, trials and tribulations, good and bad times, regrets…and yet other things I wouldn’t change whatsoever. Maybe it’s best that we can’t predict our futures because we have to learn from our mistakes so that we can grow but my mom is 83 YO now and, if there’s anyone in my life that could stay forever young, I would wish it to be her, as well as my daughter. I lost my paternal grandmother at 95 YO in 2016 and my maternal grandmother at 98 1/2 YO in 2018. Lost my dad at 78 YO in 2019. For as long as they really did live, it still wasn’t long enough. It was both heartbreaking and heartwarming to take care of them…but an absolute honor. Something I have no regrets about even though it was very difficult, at times. Also lost my father-in-law at 57 YO in 2011. I sure wish they could’ve all remained forever young and wish the same for other dear loved ones and friends that meant so much to me and always will until my last breath. I wish the same for others who have also lost those that dearly meant so very much. As another commenter said…we have to remain in trying to be young at heart. That can sometimes be the key to longevity.

Forever Young Alphaville Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst Are you gonna drop the bomb or not? Let us die young or let us live forever We don't have the power, but we never say never Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip The music's for the sad men Can you imagine when this race is won? Turn our golden faces into the Sun Praising our leaders, we're getting in tune The music's played by the, the mad men Forever young, I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever, and ever Forever young, I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever young Some are like water, some are like the heat Some are a melody and some are the beat Sooner or later, they all will be gone Why don't they stay young? It's so hard to get old without a cause I don't want to perish like a fading horse Youth's like diamonds in the Sun And diamonds are forever So many adventures couldn't happen today So many songs we forgot to play So many dreams swinging out of the blue We let them come true Forever young, I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever, and ever Forever young, I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever, and ever Forever young, I wanna be forever young Do you really want to live forever?

I’m 24, soon turning 25. I find myself reminiscing about my younger years more and more even though I know I’m still young. But the reality is that we can’t get back to the times that have past, and that, is what makes us feel old, regardless of age. Time is the only truth, use it wisely!

This song has been playing on repeat in my head after I just lost a dear old friend last night 9/13/2021. He was 50 and we grew up together. I hadn't seen him in some 25 years until I paid a surprise visit to him in the hospital on August 27th. We had a great one-on-one visit, a visit meant to be and a reunion with 17 days to spare. I told my old friend I loved him and he said he loved me too. Rest in peace, Robert Nielsen (April 19, 1971-September 13, 2021). You will always be "Forever Young"❤

When this song was released, I was 26 years of age. I felt super young, full of energy today I'm 64 years of age Life changes I just swept the floors and swept down cobwebs and out of breath I feel old and not so much energy as in my 20's. Being young is 100% better than getting up in years. But love this song so beautiful thank you for uploading it. I sold my 5,000-record album collection some years back. I now go to internet to listen to music instead of owning bunch of CD's and LP's these days. I did waste lot of money on Music over $15,000.00 maybe even more. But we buy what we love. I hope all are happy and grateful in their life's, wars come and go but to be peaceful thankful within is priceless.

This song was released during the cold war and almost everyone was terrified by and threatened with the fear of a all out extinction level event of a world wide nuclear war and AIDS had people scared to even touch or kiss... I was a young man and everyone I knew and loved were alive and healthy. The world did not end. We again are in a new cold war and combined with the fear of a catastrophic pandemic... everyone is worried if this again maybe the end of the world and now I am an old man and nearly half the people I knew and loved are gone...no the world is not going to end this time either. Stay forever young and know this...the sun is going to rise in the morning and the world will stay forever young for those who stay young at heart!

Verse 1] Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies Hoping for the best but expecting the worst Are you gonna drop the bomb or not? Let us die young or let us live forever We don't have the power but we never say never Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip The music's for the sad men Can you imagine when this race is won Turn our golden faces into the sun Praising our leaders, we're getting in tune The music's played by the, the mad man [Chorus] Forever young, I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever, and ever Forever young, I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever young [Verse 2] Some are like water, some are like the heat Some are a melody and some are the beat Sooner or later, they all will be gone Why don't they stay young It's so hard to get old without a cause I don't want to perish like a fading horse Youth's like diamonds in the sun And diamonds are forever So many adventures couldn't happen today So many songs we forgot to play So many dreams swinging out of the blue We let them come true [Chorus] Forever young, I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever, and ever Forever young, I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever, and ever [Outro] Forever young, I wanna be forever young Do you really want to live forever? This song was released in Germany in 1984 during the cold war. it's about trying to make the best of life amid the fear and paranoia of a possible nuclear extintion. 36 years later the lyrics still hits me hard it´s giving me a feeling of anexiety and powerlessness….. the fragility of my existence and that one day i will be gone and fade away. i start thinking about the absurdity of life… the conflict between the human tendency to seek inherent value and meaning in life, and the human inability to find any in a purposeless, meaningless or chaotic and irrational universe…….

I've learned that a quote often heard uttered in military and other circles is in fact true, and was long before it became a famous movie line: "what we do in life, echoes in eternity". Each one of us does indeed make a difference - the world is not the same with us in it. Though our names might not be remembered, the effect we'll have on countless others (and the fact that we were here) will be. The only question is - will our overall effects be good ones, or bad? They definitely won't be neutral. Nothing really is.

This makes me so sad. They played this song at my cousin's high school graduation and then he died in a terrible accident. I can only think of his young, smiling face as he took his diploma and I tell you, it feels like a knife twisting in my heart. The sadness takes my breath away. I still can't believe it happened.

If you don't mind me asking, was it the same day as his graduation? Either way I'm extremely sorry for your loss. My dad passed on in what will be 9 years at the end of this month. One thing that makes me feel slightly better when its stinging the worst is reminding myself that it only hurts so much because that time I spent with him was SO amazing, fun, carefree & happy! Then i find myself being grateful I've experienced moments like these in my lifetime & seeking to recreate them all over again as a way of honoring my former memories, if that makes sense🙏🏾🌻🕊

A lot of immortal songs came 1984. Incredible this song will be 40 years old 2024. Amazing!
Yes
@@user-en9qd5nx8w I always thought that. A lot great songs and movies came out that year
É sério nossa que saudade 😢😢❤
Never regret the decisions you made because no one knew which was the best. This is told to you by an old man who has lived through many experiences and has achieved successes and failures. And the best of my life is when I loved and was loved. Now, in the fall of my life, I only live on memories. Very good memories, by the way.
Good advice man
Thank you sir 👍

Well I’m crying. Thanks for sharing this man.
Thnx for sharing Really made my day
I was sitting in a bar on Christmas Eve many, many years ago by myself. It was around 10pm and the place was full of people mingling, I was the only one sitting alone. This song came on. I remember leaving the bar while walking through fresh snow to my house, thinking about the song. It was such a surreal experience. I was 26. Now I'm...old.
How is the things now? Worse or better than when you were 26?
how old are ya
The 80s seem so far away. It's a shame, it was peak America.
Lovely
I feel certain music & smells sometimes work like time machine, they can take us back to the past, 100 percent rebuild the scene we experienced, as if it’s yesterday, but we can only be a witness, we can not change the past……….
I am 19 in that year, I think I am very lucky seeing so many great music created by great people in 1980s.
Eu tenho sdd dos meus 19 anos. Agora eu tenho 40y.
I was 25 in 1984, and this song really reached me deep inside.. Just 3 years after I stared death in the face.. No regrets.. I’d have volunteered again if necessary..
Same thought here while being 20
Now is better music. You must sound new music.

I was 17 at these happy times and I loved this song. And I still do. I am 55 now...years have passed. And all the hopes of my youngness were flown away. Unfortunatly, nobody stays "forever young"
We must try, to stay at least young in our heads, accepting what we did wrobg and right, and the. You’ll be forever young I’m 21 years old, will try but failing is ok it’s normal
This made me sad 😭
But thankfully there's a hope of living forever young.

I’m 24, soon turning 25. I find myself reminiscing about my younger years more and more even though I know I’m still young. But the reality is that we can’t get back to the times that have past, and that, is what makes us feel old, regardless of age. Time is the only truth, use it wisely!
True.
You're not old enough to think about these things yet. You are too young

This song will always be relevant. Who doesn't want to be forever young? Young people reading this, savor every moment. Treat people right. Be happy. No matter how hard it is, try to find a bright side. No point in living a depressing life, if you choose to keep living then choose to be happy and savor every moment.

Hit up the gym Darlene. Start pushing your body again. The human body is an amazing machine capable of doing things you probably underestimate.
Exercise and be mobile. You'll be okay. Lots of love from my family to yours.
Beautiful comment but you old as hell ma’am 😭
Best wishes for you
It wasn't a waste.
- A song that marked not just lives, but a generation. Old memories💭
I'm listening and replaying from Nigeria 🇳🇬...indeed this is incredible 'i wanna live for ever' and younger everyday
My grandpa is 93 and is dying. The other day I was looking through the photos of him and his buddies from the 1940s , young and just enjoying life. If only we could live forever young
MY SYMPATHIES BUDDY :´(
Un fuerte abrazo!
My grandma is 88 and is fading fast. It hurts so much to see it, I've never lost anyone and I'm 36, I didn't know it hurt like this. Im sorry for you and for him, peace.
Awww man. Im at the age, halfway through life where the past seems like another lifetime. Like his pictures. Him but not like him now. He is forever young too.
My grandpa fav song, always play this song with my grandpa, reminds him his old good times when he was teen and adult. He says "Sometimes music give you best memories, but sometimes it's give bad memories because we can't go back to our past and miss my old times" he just passed away 2 year ago.....
I remember how this song was played at my high school after a student committed suicide. Although I never knew him very well, I knew that this was his favorite song. Remember, and be forever young.
Do u tell more about It ?
Well rip :C
Sooo. You've now learned what to look for if a guy is going to bump himself off. I think we need to help girls and women match boys and men in how to kill themselves Women, like most things aren't as good at suicide as men They try hard but end up just making themselves sick
My Dad's story. when he was in highschool 3 students took their fathers car on a joyride. The car flipped upside down while on fire they all died the neighbors took it very hard cause they were able to hear their screams as they died.

I was 16, pregnant and married. I can't believe how fast 40 years passes.
I was around big style in the 80s and never gave this brilliant song the credit it deserved. Timeless.
My elder brother was murdered in 2001 at age 18. His daughter died last year in a car accident. Miss both of them. They always be forever young...
Damn, your brother was out clapping cheeks without protection at age 16?

Bah. This is one of the few songs that made the 80s worth it.
The music from the 70s to early 90s will never get old.
Special times!
The 80s were awesome- just the creativity alone…
"Forever Young" has received recognition over the years and has been reinterpreted and covered by various artists. Its appeal endures, continuing to be a revered song remembered for its timeless message of optimism and eternal youth, Vim marcar presença em 2024
My mom was 17yo in 1984 so I wasn't born yet....but it hits my feelings and I could imagine how precious were those times...
This is just another one of these epic and ultimate 1980's songs. The musical quality of 1984 beats 2016 truly by 1000 - 0 ;)
A baby screaming in my ears while a jackhammer is pounding beside me...beats todays music
Mainstream perhaps, but there's plenty good contemporary music if you're willing to look around for the more obscure places that have decent jackhammer screamo

I'm so sorry❤️😢
My sweet brother and my twin died 2 years ago ,when I play this bitter sweet tune I feel him beside me with his arms around me with a message of love and hope,I dedicate this to all our fallen loved ones who will always dwell in our hearts and souls, bye Peter ❤

This song is insane! Music direct from the heart and soul. Hits me every time. ❤️
Listen from Jamaica 🇯🇲 April 27, 2024. Only gems and legends appreciate this classic💓
Stay forever young and know this...the sun is going to rise in the morning and the world will stay forever young for those who stay young at heart!
hey thank you for commenting. this is amazing
If you listen to the lyrics, you hear it too. "Heaven can wait, we’re only watching the skies. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Are you going to drop the bomb or not?”
Thank you dear! God bless you!
wow sir from across the world you aided my anxiety of this new cold war you spoke something that needed to be spoken to me and from a I just met in the internet. Thank you also theres Becky Hills cover of this song I hope you check this out bless your soul and again thank you!

The strain in his voice depicts young anguish. That's what makes the sound so memorable.
"hoping the best but expecting the worst, are you gonna drop the bomb or not"...40 years later, new generations are at serious risk of living that fear again. This sad world never learn from its mistakes.
Why 80's music videos are so magic? The lack of high definition? The colors?
My opinion: 80's music was REAL, based on actual talent. Nothing compares love 💯🔥
The music. Melody and feel were king.
Matteo Brandi, there were freedom then. Now Freedom is just a glance of something unknown
@MrMagicBeans That's a very interesting idea Mr Beans. Of course speaking of the mainstream only I assume.
It may be. Technicalities can't substitute talent. Nowadays we have 8k definition, and nothing worth watching.
"Some are like water, some are like the heat, some are a melody and some are the beat"..."Youth's like diamonds in the sun..." The lyrics to this song are pure poetry.
I always heard it as "Some are like water, some are like the beach".
❤❤❤
Just as I passed this comment that first quote played haha
It's hard 2 grow old without a cause...... Most a single lyric has said
O solo de teclado no final é magnífico e te leva longe.....
(Forever)
Thank you very much

Jack Taylor you're right, man... this song is simply beautiful... and perfect
Oddly, this high quality song only made to #65 on the _Billboard Hot 100_ despite *three* separate U.S. single releases.
It tug at your heart string, Great.Song🍷🍾
I agree 🖤
There are so many candidates out there
Piece and love for everyone!!!
After 40 years, I can say this is the best song ever written.
Your feelings are completely understandable for all human being. The only salvation is faith in God.
Jonathan VonBaak very nice mate 👏

This song has been in my head for the past 10 days. Never thought I'd grow up in the end of the Cold War to see my kids grow up in the next.
I came here just to listen to this again. Yeah I'd hoped this state of affairs would never return. Worrying times.
Hot war. Nuclear annihilation. Sorry to break it to you. You can thank Brandon.
My mom been saying the same thing
People want peace but the politicians and media want war. Don't let them win. Don't let hate win. Be a peacemaker and don't let internet trolls make you hate your fellow human being just because he lives in another country and his President hates yours.
Yes. I feel the same.
The toughest is being young at heart but having a body that reminds me of my age. I want to be forever young.

I am 27 and listen to this song and think I want to stay forever young forever this age... I always cry when I listen to it because it's very beautiful... We possess emotions which make us forever young... BR from Germany
One of those of 80's songs that still speaks volumes about both the state of the world and the feelings of youth, all despite being written decades ago. Amazing song.
KillerFrank the song is about nuclear holocaust and everyone dying.. basically the end of the world... not sure how many people can relate to that lol. Well maybe because Trump.. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst are you gonna drop the bomb or not
+ThePustulioFoolio Well if you at the current situation with Russia, or with the overall instability in the world today, it certainly feels like the lyrics could just as easily apply to today's world as it did then, if not more so.
Dude dont you dare compare the media BS with russia now with the actual threat of the cold war
"all despite being written decades ago" This statement baffles me. Do you not believe, relate, or trust in things that are old?
Mildly Grumpy this comment section is proof of this
It was my sweet school time....the music was best at time....❤❤❤❤❤

Trust me she is in the sky world living forever young
