Usually you see coach on here in podcast mode, today I share a video of Coach Javier Mendez in Coach mode. Where he talks about the difficulties of sparring, when so many fighters have upcoming fights. This is basically him talking about having the right coaches working with the right guys. It is also about how much time should be focused on the ground game vs Stand up fighting. Interestingly enough Coach Javier Mendez was a world champion Kickboxer, but he really knows the value of a grapplers skill set. Tune in to hear what it is like when Coach gives an end of practice speech at American kickboxing Academy. Follow us at @akajav @Javiermendezakapodcast www.javiermendezakapodcast. Thanks for your support we hope this channel is keeping you entertained as most people are currently isolated at home. Subscribe and share with your friends.

    • Look I boxed myself and I love the sport like nothing else. But I also like MMA a lot and as far as I can see, people who say grapplings boring are those people who used to ride mcgregors dick a lot some time ago. Cause if you watch the pure domination of Khabib while mixing his stand up with his high level wrestling, you must be blind if you think its boring. Switch to boxing then! Punks

    • but critically you do need some striking skills and more especially striking awareness and timing for your wrestling to work in MMA. There have been many high level wrestlers and judokas who tanked in MMA. The ones who did not do well get forgotten. Khabib has a very high level of striking awareness, timing and reactiveness. He comes out without a scratch in every fight regardless of how good the striker is. He stood toe to toe with Conor for a long time and landed the best strike of their fight. Whilst both were stood up and things supposedly in Conors favour.

    • Frankie Cal deron fights guys twice his size. Hes a great wrestler but for a 200-210 pound middleweight its like a midget trying to take you down. Go down to 170 or (hopefully) 155 and its a whole other ball game

    • Put Paulo Costa or a welterweight with no grappling background against Khabib, he would literally get killed. There is a reason for weight classes. Adesanya and Costa have no grappling background, yet both won against several grapplers like Romero.
