  • First, thank you Tapendra for this excellent video! I made this and it works - but it took me a while to get it all right. Some speedbumps I encountered: 1. Be sure to sand or scrape the insulation completely off both ends of the secondary coil. Check continuity between the two ends (I used an inexpensive multimeter) to insure that the insulation is off. I thought I had a good connection until I tested it and found that I hadn't gotten all the insulation off. 2. Use a 22K ohm resistor, not the 2.2K indicated. Using a 2.2K will fry the transistor pretty quickly. 3. Be sure to wind the primary in the opposite direction of the secondary. Four turns seemed to work best for me, it can be tightly wound around the base of the secondary coil, and neatly taped to it.

    • @@kamleshkumaryadav9360 I blew more than one transistor due to overheating so make sure you have spares (mine came in a bag of 200). I'm not quite sure why this happened - I'm an amateur at this. Using a fresh 9-volt battery seemed to overheat the transistor, which leads me to think that maybe the resistor needs to be an even higher value. However, at this point it is stable and working consistently with a 22.2K ohm resistor so I'm not sure. Just don't give up, it WILL work.

  • I made this coil and it didn't work at first then I started to search for flaws on internet and I got the solution What I did was I increased the number of primary coil turn from 3 to 4 it didn't work then I increased it to 5 turns also then it didn't work. Then I replace the primary coil connection that is one which was connected to transformer I replaced it to connection on the switch and vice versa And boom the flurocent tube light started to glow just when I was going to give up on it So please don't give up, search for solution and you guys will also be succeed 😉😎😎

    • The Tesla coil is a device that uses high voltage to create an electrical discharge. This discharge can be used to create sparks, or it can be used to power an electrical load. The Tesla coil is named after its inventor, Nikola Tesla. There are several ways to create the high voltage needed for a Tesla coil. One way is to use a spark gap. A spark gap is a device that creates a spark when a high voltage is applied to it. A spark gap can be made from two pieces of metal separated by a gap of air. When the high voltage is applied, it creates an electric arc across the gap. This arc will produce sparks that can be used to power an electrical load or create sparks in the air. Another way to create the high voltage needed for a Tesla coil is by using a transistor.

  • Hey there, I hope someone might help me... I built a coil similar to the second one explained (with a transistor) and the voltage doesn't get higher than 9V (like the battery has), instead it should induce a much higher voltage. Could it be because my transistor broke during the soldering process (because of the heat)? Or is there another reason... Also, it should make an energy saving lamp glow through just holding it near the coil. But that doesn't work either...

    @jelenajankovic7404@jelenajankovic74042 жыл бұрын
    • It sounds like your transistor has broken. If the voltage measured is DC then the transistor isn't switching. It should be a high frequency AC output at the 3 turn primary (of 9 volts). It should also be 9x100v turns ratio on the secondary (900v)

      @richardgraham9114@richardgraham91142 жыл бұрын
    • Hey man this circute is fake because 9 volt cant make high voltage with just a simple coiling And transistor just do the switch not mor

  • I have made the tesla coil and it works.. I have used 22k Resistor.. Be sure to use a top load (any metallic conductor) for better results, 2-3 turns of primary gave best results for my setup ( 200+ windings of secondary)... If u guys have any doubts mention them. PS: Make sure that current in the primary flows in the direction opposite to which secondary is winded. Don't switch on the circuit for more than 15 seconds otherwise it would fry the transistor.
