    • That's what happens when you use cheats to force a secret character to appear at the beginning of EVERY round. Normally it's very rare for that to happen, and it's specifically coded not to occur during secret character battles for this very reason.

    • I like the classic 2D-MK's - I'm not interrested in all the new ones with superb 3D-polygon-graphics but very different gameplay - for me, this is no real Mortal Kombat anymore! MK 1,2,3,3 Ultimate, Trilogy and 4 are the best MK's!

  • Long nights on Super Nintendo playing this game as a kid. My spot, friends' cribs... Then at ToysRus on the free Sega Genesis n SNES set-ups at the mall, or sometimes at the skating rink arcade. It was a bit of an unhealthy obsession. Favorite game series to this day. Looking forward to MK11 in April.

    • Indeed. There were rumors that Chun Li would have been in MK and she was obtainable with a special input code. However, just like the ERMAC rumor, this never happened. Unlike the ERMAC rumor, she would NEVER appear in any MK, not even as a lookalike or cameo...

    • Nah, its just a hint how to get to Jade. You have to win a fight only using kick button. And Chun Li was famous for her kicks. Its kind of a dumb hint, but actually that counts for all hints in the game i guess.

    • The one I hate is the hair-pin projectile duck followed by a high-damage attack while you’re still vulnerable in those animation frames.

    • kloopon You can avoid most of the throws if you do, say, a sweep kick or a roundhouse kick, from a certain distance away. They will instantly throw you if you’re right next to them, so you have to be outside the range of where throwing is possible to land a hit. As for uppercutting, the key is in the timing. It doesn’t work all the time, but more often than not I can land an uppercut on the wakeup after being knocked down by holding down for just the right amount of time. If you uppercut too early, they’ll duck and uppercut you instead; if you wait a fraction of a second too late, they’ll throw you for crouching while too near to them. The timing must be extremely precise.

    • kloopon The one I hate the most is when they throw you into a corner. It’s bad enough when they throw you, but then they trap you in the corner with the jump kicks. You can’t attack, jump away, or do anything till the ai decides to throw you back out again, and by the time it does you’re already dead or so low on life you stand no chance of winning. It’s completely inescapable and even more bullshit than the normal bullshit this game’s ai gives.

  • You know, back in the day when I played this and Streetfighter I noticed that if you put the dificulty settings 1 lower of the max setting its quite harder. Because on the hardest you can 99% predict what the enemy fighter will do. 1 setting lower and it has a random other style vs you.

  • Can you tell me the exact time you input the 2nd air kick after doing the 1st one? I can NEVER get Kung Lao to do the 2nd air kick. I’ll set up the AI, jump towards them, do the spin move, pop them up, jump and do the 1st air kick then when I input the down-high kick to do the 2nd kick he won’t ever do it and it really irritates me. Can you tell me when you input it?
