@@missourimongoose8858 both are electroplated but from what I understand its 18k rose gold electroplate and full 100% carbon but im sure the hubs aren’t carbon lmaoo we will know 100% when its time. They are also quiet about the source of the v12 🤐
It truly is amazing that cars like the DeTomaso are still being developed in an era where EV’s are the main focus. If that thing comes out with a supercharged V8 and manual gearbox like he said, it goes against everything car makers are doing. Absolutely beautiful

That DeTomaso is everything I envision a supercar to be. Easily the best looking car on the road, point blank. That thing is drop dead gorgeous. The sound, oooof!

purposefulness feels better ultimatly, gma t50 had pillars futhur away from passenger so there more more visual surface area of driving evniroent, more precived speed. this is on top of vetibular organ being in middle of car for a more connected feel in a sense,including middle driving position to place the car more easily etc...
i just wish gma t50 customers paid more for a customized areo shell (bodykit) , like having a old school art sort of pagani style etc

DeTomaso needs to keep the first prototype v12 engine in it. I remember hearing that beast at Car week last year, it was insane tho I love the specs on this one. Seeing both prototypes in person, I'd take this specs with ofcourse the v12 engine in it. The customers will be so lucky if they can have them with v12s.

Since they also own Apollo the drivetrain will just be straight out of the Apollo IE. They probably want to keep that race car experience with the pneumatic gearbox for the Apollo and just have the design and a more user friendly drivetrain setup speak for the detomaso brand

That guy's car was absolutely amazing. One of the most beautiful cars I've seen. It was nice of him to let ya get in and take ya for a ride. Great way to market his supercar. Way better then a McLaren in my opinion.

God I love a good sequential gearbox!!! It just sounds so good and has such a mechanical sound that just adds to the soul of the car. There will never be an electric car that has this kind of soul behind it. Supercars amd hypercars should be the exception for having combustion engines.

Awesome! Yes, I saw this car in Carmel and heard it drive away and it sounded like a V12. I could not find any mention of any such engine; only the twin-turbo V8. That racing dog box with the straight cut gears is amazing as well.

Cool thing about the Mercedes’ 6x6 is that in the cockpit there are so many controls and buttons to control things like the diff and suspension as well as an air pump for the tires so if your off-roading on sand you can release air from the tires and if you go back on the street you can reinflate them. Also it can wade through water like it’s nothing and is water tight

A few years ago my father and I wondered what caviar tasted like so we ordered some red and black caviar, the red tasted like you just licked a bass and ended up being fox food lol and the black just tasted like liquid salt and was super expensive (100 bucks for a small tin that's smaller than a skoal can) just in case anyone was wondering lol
v12 + sequential gearbox is by far the best combination. DeTomaso p72 should go with that instead of supercharge v8
They are going with the supercharged V8 to make it more driver/road friendly. 375 to 450 horse power makes a daily driver most can afford .

The Mclaren F1 Vs the Ferrari Enzo..I know this isn’t an equal match up but it doesn’t get any better to see this on your video knowing I have seen the video on KZhead millions of time and that has to be one of the best KZhead videos from back in 2006..awesome to see those 2 cars sitting next to each other like that..if you know..you know..if not look for the video on KZhead..you won’t be disappointed..Damon you should make a remake of that video with those 2 cars if you can! It reminds me of a ferrari P4 prototype. The interior looks a lot like a Pagani, very much so, the manual transmission shift lever is almost identical to that of the Huayra. But this car is even more beautiful. If it had a regular aspirated V12 it would be a perfect supercar, no doubt about it.

Most certainly that DeTomaso looks super sexy and that all carbon fiber construction. Seems like a really high performance vehicle. My only feedback for improvement would be I'm hearing a near continuous whine from the engine that if it was corrected with a resinator the sound would be as high performance as the rest of what I saw.

I grew up around the DeTomaso Pantera's and have always loved them. This P-72 is insane.
If it is possible, please get the old P1 you had, and get the GTR conversion kit!! P1-GTR and 720-GTR. Sounds so great 🥰. The chassis-mounted carbon fiber wing is the best. One of the key features imo.

Love the DeTomaso, always have since the first design back in the 60's, but I never got the allure of the F1, and it's fantastical out of this world price tag. 😁👍✌

FYI when the P72 debuted at Pebble Beach a couple of years ago, an engineer told me the prototype engine and chassis were the same as the Apollo IE, meaning AMG Mercedes V12. This year at Le Mans, they told me the production cars would be fitted with a supercharged Ford Coyote engine developed by Roush Performance. This car along with two others were on display, all preproduction prototypes. Two had the V12, and one (with Michigan manufacturer plates) had the Roush motor. The exterior is universally praised, but some have condemned the interior as looking a bit like Liberace’s bathroom. The De Tomaso folks told me a more traditional interior, designed to appeal to a western as opposed to Asian clientele, is also under development and would be available as an option.

The DeTomaso Pantera of the 1970's had a 351 Cleveland engine in it that was awesome. It was my favorite car. It's good to see that the DeTomaso it is making a comeback.
