  • 3:40:52 Bowguns are alot more dependant on where your placing your shots and how far away you are, more circles in the reticle = more damage. also at your item box you can put in mods to help with recoil, deal more damage close or far away. some ammo will have arrows on it orange ones are rapid fire and blue ones auto reload for you.

    • Light bowguns are the absolute best IMO. They take around 1.5x more time kill any monster (very low base damage), but it is AMAZING for if you are good at dodging. I’ve No-hit many many bosses, I’ve healed a shit ton of my Allies with the recover ammo because im the only one who’s still on full health while they get hit constantly. The only problem is that I always forget I’m not supposed to stay up completely close.

  • This is a great journey. You almost got the full course from the base game, props to you guys. Also high respect to Pixel for sticking with the most underrated weapon in the game for the whole playthrough. HH are the giga chad. And yes, indeed, the monsters scale based on how many people are in the quest. You guys are playing on what we called the "hard mode" with 3 hunters. As you lack the perk of lowered HP from solo hunt or having two Palico from duo hunt and the lack of having a full party.

  • Stubbled across this and thourghly enjoyed watching 3 friends hunting together and having fun discovering the world. I've played a lot of MHW and Iceborne, was refreshing to see people going for what they wanted on armor pieces instead of just going the "meta" route. Best tip i can give is if you are having trouble living through stuff try to fit health boost and max stun resistance into your builds. Also, doing some tempered monster quests for decos and streamstones. Getting the right type of streamstone would allow you to augment your armor and weapons, for the armor that could be as much as an extra 20 defense points per piece.

  • I haven’t finished the video yet though i’m an hour away. You asked what all three of you could have improved on for that point. I’ve played mhwi near to when it was released. I’ve replayed the beginning of the game a lot so i think i’m qualified for suggestions or my own insight. Using a monster elemental weakness is very good from base world to iceborne. It makes the hunt much faster as you basically deal double your damage. For the Crow with a Chargeblade. I noticed you rarely put your Phials in your blade, shield, or axe. Doing that would enhance your damage output and deny your weapon from being flinched back from low sharpness or red hot phials. Enchanced sword: increases damage, added elemental dmg when attacking, and no sword knock back. When charging phials you hold Y on controller until the thing clicks in and then you let go. Your shield must have been charged first! Enchanced shield: makes it easier to block certain attacks, and gives you the “Amped elemental discharge” when doing about to do the elemental discharge hit RT to charge the Phials in your shield Enhanced Axe: your axe is just essentially a chainsaw as you swing it. You use axe so you’d love it. Before doing elemental discharge hit LT with phials and it’ll go into your axe. It’ll slowly drain away the Phials and the buffed axe goes away when you sheath your weapons, unlike the other 2 weapon buffs In terms of the skills you choose i’d advise guard mainly. Anything else is your choice. For Alphajor with my favorite weapon, Use the descending thrust and make sure to get a kinsect with lvl 1 speed and lvl 20 dmg. When you descending thrust with the kinsect on your arm you release the kinsect and shortly after the descending thrust it will drill through the monster. You must recall it after that to do it again. With monster pods or any normal pods (monster is better) whatever the hold LT X+A is on pc will charge up your kinsect giving it more damage. Also make sure you pick up all 3. Buffs from a monster as you get more damage, speed, and defense. Skill suggestion is constitution. Stamina drains slower For Pixel with a hunting horn, Hit any attack button and then LT (with controller) too do a spinning attack with the hunting horn. It does quite the damage and most horns have extra buffs that require you to do that before letting you play it. Have horn maestro, it enchances how far it can affect players. Hunting horns also tend to be the people buffing and healing players. This’ll greatly help your allies Apologies for the long text, but i hope this helps the 3 of you! Overall despite you 3 being newbies to the mhwi ya’ll kicked ass and improved very well. If you used stuff in a certain way people would think you’ve all played mhw before Note: 1 player hunts have least health. 2 player hunts have the middle of hp. 3&4 player hunts have the most hp

Also something about mounting: If you hit the monster to much while someone’s on it you can knock it down early, preventing the big hit at the end of the mount and a lot of potential damage. Don’t know if you knew or not but I noticed you guys knocking them down early a lot so thought I’d mention it.

  • Just some tips for some of the monsters you had a difficult time with towards the end of the video(and a couple of more general tips): 1. Behemoth is to be approached like a FFXIV Raid. The best strategy is to have a Proper Tank, Healer, and DPS. Extreme behemoth is one of the hardest hunts in the entire game, especially before you get master rank gear(and I've heard that it's still pretty hard even With master rank gear). 2. For Lunastra, just don't flash her unless you're able to easily escape the zone you're in. Flashing her will force her to perform her supernova attack. 3. Have you been using armor spheres to upgrade your armor pieces? Because that can make a serious difference. 4. Have you been doing the optional quests to upgrade the botanist and canteen? because if you didn't, you really should. Upgrading the botanist especially can cut down on the grinding for crafting ingredients by. A. Lot. There's many more tips I could give, but this is just what I could think of off the top of my head.

  • Your idea of using a gun to gain enmity and kite around actually had a lot of merit and was my role back when Behemoth was new, although making it work properly would require a lot of Tempered farming that isn't really worth doing anymore now that Iceborne exists. Multi-hit spread shot gains enmity very fast, and a Heavy Bowgun can have a shield added to it. Guard 5, Guard Up (as a decoration instead of requiring Uragaan pieces), and Evade Extender give you the tools to keep emnity and survive, although even then it is far from simple to execute.

  • Pixel (it was it alpha??) getting lost all the time is so funny and relatable. When I hadn’t played the game for years and came back to it, I got lost in similar spots 😂 Also monsters do in fact get more HP in multiplayer hunts to make it fair. I always found hunts easier too, in World at least, playing solo. In Rise some monsters were very nice with help lol

  • We need more 100 days in monster hunter games, but like 100 days in the Coral Highlands, then the same for the Ancient Forest and so on, with armor and weapons from monsters that only spear in that area to make it more interesting.

    • The biggest hurdle would be when you get to armor and weapons that require parts from monsters not in that zone.

    • @@Reapor234 that is why befriending the palico's will be integral. He meets the palicos and the other cat tribes (can't spell their names for the life of me) and with his palicos help they get the help of the ones he has befriended to get him recourses that they logically can get for him. The goal in all these 100 days runs will be to get a armor and weapon strong enough to hunt either an elder or strongest large monster on a given map stopping you from making it to the commission's two bases in base World or Iceborn. Another goal is attempting to study all the monsters that can show up on the map to 100 completion in those 100 days, with his team members doing the same on other maps at the same time to see who douse it the fastest, winner gets who knows what. Just ideas, but please, everyone pitch in, this man needs to do more Monster Hunter related ideas if you please! 😁

  • This is a delightful video! I have been absolutely craving the viewpoints of new Monster Hunter players and this has filled that need for me! I LOVED hearing you talk about the monsters from your nearly-blind perspectives, like the collective panic when the Diablos jumped up from the sinkhole suddenly. At first I felt a little frustrated because you weren't using one of the main mechanics of the charge blade (Charging your shield to power up your axe swings and damage capabilities), but then I saw at 55:24 that you actually did charge up your shield! Knowing that your play style was a choice of resource allotment rather than complete ignorance made me feel a lot better about watching along. You've been playing remarkably well for new players! Well done! I would, however, recommend that as a Charge Blade user you practice how to power up your shield and sword. It will increase the damage of your axe swings and your Elemental Discharges. Additionally (but optionally) There's a special type of block that your weapon has that can reduce the knockback of enemy attacks called a Guard Point. I'll keep the explanation brief, but when you're morphing your weapon into axe mode, the shield remains in front of you for a small section during the animation. If the enemy hits you during that point you will perform a Guard Point, take less knockback, and be able to instantly respond with instantly respond with an axe swing or an Elemental Discharge if you input that command. Give it a try sometime, and happy hunting! I'll be awaiting your next monster hunter video with baited breath! (Guard points exist in several other points in the Charge Blade moveset, but the other important one is when you hold your shield in front of yourself after morphing the weapon back into sword and shield mode.)

  • Just a friendly reminder, you can tranq monsters before you trap them. Very useful if you've had to use traps to get it to hold still prior to capturing it. Also, as I'm sure many others in here will say as well, Diablos is actually an herbivore.

  • Just amazing. I binged your 100 Day-Ark videos and was very happy to see you play this. Greeting from Germany =) I hope y'all end up continuing the saga in Iceborn, there is much more to see and some freaky monsters and some really hard fights. Love y'all Both Bowguns rely on the ammunition that you use. You actually have to switch the ammunition (bottom right corner). The 1-Dmg is the base ammunition, the "I have no ammo but shoot anyway" kind of stuff. It's a lot of micromanaging because 1. crafting is annoying with all the plant parts and 2. some ammunition is better on the head then others. So don't worry, it's not the most intuitive system. And Behemoth... is a giant frigging pain in the butt. It's a lot of learning his attacks and placing the tornados at the edge of the arena, superman-diving his thunderbolt and actually running when you have the enmity, just running and dodging and diving until he stops and then repeat. The crossover event want you to play Tank-Heal-DPS, the holy trinity.

  • Amazing video crow, truly amazing. Though, I feel like it could've been much better with a few touches. Firstly, I would find it more entertaining if you incorporated your thoughts and opinions into the video. I've seen the game a thousand times, played it a thousand times, but this is the first and last time I see YOU play it. I'm not her for the game, I'm here for your thoughts on the game. Your opinions, thoughts, style, jokes good and bad. Your unique entertainment. And secondly, a bit more in-game commentary would I feel make everything more engaging, instead of a scripted voice over. There needs to be a fine balance between the two for the video to both get information across efficiently and be just fun to watch. I'm saying this because I love your content, your style, voice, personality, and I thing you should leave more of a mark on the games you play. Great job.

  • To learn the charge blade, one must trust the charge blade. Must become as one with the charge blade. It is an immovable bulwark, and an unstoppable force. It will protect you from harm, and unleash harm upon your enemy in equal measure. The master charge blader has no fear. He does not retreat, does not yield, does not flinch in the face of danger. With each blow given and taken you become more and more powerful. Compounding the fury of your enemy with your own to shatter any who dare stand in your way. You also have bragging rights for playing the "most complex" weapon. Its really not, but the combo sheet looks scary and that's enough to chase off like half the playerbase. But for the love of gog ig you're going to use a hard weapon please look up a guide. Maybe you figure it out but I'm like a third of the way though and you've charged your shield once.

  • here are some tips for you! bare with me, charge blade is the most complex weapon xd (im in 2 hours and 35mins so not sure if u learned them by the end of the video) with charge blade you ALWAYS want to keep your shield charged! not only does it make blocks better but it also adds stun damage to your blocks and you can charge your sword! you already know how to charge it, but you always charge it with low phials, each phials = around 30secs so 5 phials = 2mins and 30secs of a buffed shield and 6 = 3mins you can charge your sword by the same input that stores phials + hold Y(if you let go too soon or too late it wont work) also if you charge your shield you unlock a move that replaces your strong move with a stronger move, that stronger move can unload ALL OF YOUR PHIALS for MASSIVE damage you can do Y+B 3 times from sword mode to go to the strong move or when your in axe mode you can press Y+B once to go straight into it! that means if you have full phials you will use it all in 1 attack instead of using some to get into the big attack finally you can charge your axe mode so the axe will spin like a chainsaw and act like a chainsaw so a LOT of numbers but damn does it consume a ton of sharpness, you cancel your big attack by pressing LT to charge your axe instead of RT, it consumes phials over time Hope this helps! (also a fun little move pixel can do is after inputting any attack tell him to press LT for a very satisfying attack)
