Fun fact, shara actually doesn't have camera tracking, their eyes are concave and so they appear to follow you while in reality they're completely stationary. It's based off of Buddhist shrine reliefs that do the same thing.

This is most likely because it's SIGNIFICANTLY easier to do it like this than to actually program the eyes to track the camera. It's highly unlikely his eyes are actually concave lorewise.

@yes actually it is pretty easy to track the main camera with an game Object. This is a basic skill for a game dev.
Green Nargacuga is green because it's a stealth monster. It's hard to think of a better forest camouflage color than green. The issue is the shade of green they chose.
If it was like an olive green, it'd be perfect. But it's this super watermelon green...
@Tornait It's for jungles, and plus you don't need the exact same shade of color to blend in properly, just close enough to fade into the background

Small fact. The monster theme music usually starts to play when the monster sees the playet but since Khezu doesn't have eyes he cant see the player making him have no Theme
Then why does gore magala have a theme?

That explains it. I was SO confused when fighting Khezu in Rise. I was wondering "where the epic monster jams??? Is this a bug?"
@@Timberpelt That's not the actual reason for why Khezu doesn't have a theme. If I recall correctly, his lack of a theme was due to a bug in Generation 1, however the developers thought it was added to the atmosphere and have kept him theme-less ever since. The bug itself could have been due to him not seeing you (as in Gen 1 and 2 he literally didn't see you at all, as in you didn't get the "noticed (yellow eye icon)" status that allows you to superman dive which has been changed in recent generations), but it was not initially a deliberate choice by the devs. Otherwise, as someone else pointed out, Gore also wouldn't have a theme. He senses your presence via his frenzy clouds, or something to that effect.
@mr_fister_1273 he does technically have eyes, but he can't see you, his eyes are shut and not opened until the process to turn into shagaru starts, hence why he can't be flash podded unless it's chaotic
World was my first monster hunter game, and I remember fighting ragging brachy for the first time and hating it but then it instantly became one of my favourites as soon as he phase transitioned it’s such a cool way to instil fear into the players by making the monster trap you in with it while also conveying that it’d rather die then see you leave unscathed
i hated him too until i fought fatalis. im the only person who hates the fatalis fight but kinda likes alatreon and raging brachy

16:08 To answer your question, the reason was due to World’s success, Oroshi was scrapped for Alatreon and Fatalis. He was originally planned to be in the game allll the way back in the pre Kulve days as he was found on the same datamined list as Kulve.
Thank god for that then. I can't imagine a world where Alatreon and Fatalis were gone and we had a stupid unicorn in their place.

Oroshi kirin was meant to be in TU with rusted kuskhala in Icebourne but I think the pandemic made that TU get scrapped so they just balled out for fatalis instead

@@Rocker67890 I expected oroshi to drop with alatreon and then rusted with fatalis a shame they were scrapped since thats when world started to care less sbout the realism aspect of the fights and more so the fun of them
Well, I understand that Namiel can be upsetting but on the contrary I find its mechanics really interesting as it makes positioning even more important in the hunt and being aware of your surroundings
I find that the Namiel fight is a different experience depending on your weapon choice, I usually take it down with insect glaive which is great fun.
@@MavgurrayI guess so, I fight it with the charge blade and when you think of it, the slide slash sure is useful and makes the hunt less irritating
You can just use a mirewalker jewel to trivialize it, same thing for shara and his sand pits. gunlance isn't so evasive so I had to slot it in for those fights.
Big agree with Mavgurray here. Fighting Namielle with Insect Glaive does make me more aware of where I'm landing, but otherwise it's mostly business as usual.
Water Chameleos should be a swimming experience to introduce a Underwater Coral Reef, it still feels like a missed opportunity

Imagine the insanity if Capcom somehow made a game with all the monsters. It would be so cool seeing a bunch of elder dragons thrown in the same mission duking it out.

This is basically what monster hunter generations was. Granted there wasn't turf wars at that point but there were some nutty event quests. And generations ultimate is a switch game.

For the people that still don't get it, Narwa and Ibushi are digging up artillery by accident. They use static electricity/wind they generate to stay in the sky, but this resonate with the field and digs up artillery

Was surprised to hear the Namielle fight hate, as I don't think, as someone who mained Hammer and Bow, I ever really found myself getting caught in the water attacks all that much, so I didn't realize others really had that much difficulty regarding it. Plus dodging the puddles to not get electrocuted is a neat part of the fight. It has imo the best cry of any monster, especially when you add on the noise AT Nami's makes along with its nova attack.
You get armaments in the Coral Palace because it was once a civilization much like how Schrade has Ballistae and Dragonators despite "Fatalis burning it to ashes" They just get dug up because Narwa's Electricity causes magnetism

@@yopman411 The spinning dragonators was such a badass move, plus it was an ultimate attack that was actually dangerous and not easily avoided. I can see how that can be annoying, tho.
@@spaghetti7929 I did this fight last night and avoided the pillars effortlessly by going to the edge of the arena and staying there. Evade Extender makes it hilariously easy to avoid the entire thing.
After seeing risen valstrax new ambush it definitely deserves to be peak monster.
It's interesting to see how you've classified the monsters based on the weapons you've showed in the video. I primarily use Hammer and my list looks quite a bit different. I also just hate monster fights where all you can hit is their feet, just so immersion breaking imo.

So glad Gogmazios is in peak monster, I started with 3U but really got into the series in 4U and Gogmazios still to this day is my favorite monster out of every MH game I've played. I just love the atmosphere, the theme and most importantly: the phase transition. I know you talked a lot about phase transitions when you were at Frontier. I think I can speak for almost every hunter that has fought Gogmazios, the transition to phase 2 can be summed up with one sentence I said when I triggered phase 2, "That thing can fly?!?!" Oh my Gog I love Gogmazios
Gog's sound design too, I love how he creaks metal with every step and how his roar creaks liek metal too. And not to mention his design with a fucking dragonator sticking out of his back.
S tier theme too. Sounds like a behemoth slowly rampaging through a city, taking its time destroying everything knowing nothing can beat it

Agreed I entered such a panic state when it started flying...also mid flight he starts roaring and the characters comment that he seems to be in extreme pain while flying because his wings can barely support him he is stressing them to their max. The realization that its doing that just to try to kill you was amazing
Pronunciations are giving me Psychic damage, but otherwise a very cool video! It's interesting to see takes on a lot of monsters that vary from my own. A lot of the bigger siege fights like Yama and Beeg Crab are ones I'd love to see in Modern MH because of how much they'd improve.
The giant enemy crab needs a glorious comeback. And please bring in the Frontier scorpion with it!

I just started playing 3U for the first time and, honestly? Gobul is an easy S tier. He’s such a fun little guy
Just playing 3U for the first time, and while I’m struggling some with controlling myself underwater (I have some CHOICE WORDS for area 3 of the Flooded Forest) I enjoyed Gobul’s fight quite a lot! It’s not an S tier, but it’s got a lot of charm with its spiky form and flash attack and ability to hide itself under the sand, and of course the fact that you can fish it out with frogs!

Tri was also my first monster hunter on the wii followed by freedom unite on the psp. I remember being absolutely blown away and terrified from lagi’s first appearance and he’ll always hold a special place in my heart

Awww you didn't have to do my boi Tigrex dirty like that :( I loved how he jumpscared you during the popo tongue quest in Freedom Unite and was treated like a final boss. It was a magical moment for me when his quest finally rolled around and i noticed its called "Absolute Power". He was a skill check and forced me to get good and it's a joy fighting my old friend every time I see a quest he's in 😊

Basarios is ehhh. But Gravios is probably my favorite 1st gen monster. He just so big and that face looked evil. Plus super cool armor at the time.

Khezu has no battle music because the battle music only starts when the monster spots you, and Khezu doesn't have eyes.

My top 3 from each gen (3U and Iceborne are my favourites, so top 5 for gens 3 and 5) 1. Fatalis, Rathian, Kirin 2. Chameleos, Tigrex, Rajang 3. Deviljho, Amatsu, Zinogre, Agnaktor, Brachydios 4. Nerscylla, Gore Magala, Seregios 5. Nergigante, Goss Harag, Kulve Taroth, Odogaron, Malzeno Also, I’ll bet that Velkhena vs Malzeno turf war raised them both a tier for you.

I've only ever played Stories 2, and Boltreaver was far and away my favorite monstie, so I'm quite happy he made Peak Monster here 👍

Dalamadur is definitely my favorite monster, the fight in 4u is amazing. My second favorite is nakaros (I think that's how it's spelled) the giant bone squid thing elder dragon from generations.

Bruhhh, way back in 2012, me and my cousin would play mhfu in our PSPs till 4am in the morning. That was our nightly routine the entire summer break. And the very first time we actually fell asleep while doing a quest was during the Shen Gaoren siege mission. We laughed so hard in the morning when we talked about it the next day. Hearing the joke you made brought back that sweet memory of ours. Top tier. XD
Unknown was a regular Rathian, divorced by Rathalos for whatever reasons, and her children were slain by hunters. Hence you dont want to mess with a widowed monster who lost everything but its life.

Yian Garuga is PEAK Monster Hunter. if you cant appreciate that the damage from his charge comes out a frame before the animation even plays, i dont know what to tell you
using an insect glaive against Namielle is what made it one of my favorite monsters to fight dodging water attacks thunder being able to avoid its nuke of an attack against the arch tempered one too.
You have opened my eyes to more than world/ iceborne and rise. Haven't played sunbreak cause I'm on ps5. But I noticed stygian Zinogre, ebony odagaron, fulgar anjanath and a few other subspecies didn't get listed. Stygian Zinogre is my favorite Zinogre
Whats really cool about Shara’s boss fight is that the designers didn’t even make code for him to look into the camera. Instead, they made indents into his eyes (in contrast to just making them round), creating the illusions of being watched. Its really cool what game developers can do as to not make things too complicated

Hey, mh3u here. I'm one of the few who was thrilled to see Alatreon have a bull way to take down a squad of hunters. Ever since I fought him and became acquainted with the idea of black dragons I was so disappointed with fatalis in mh4u because Alatreon and Dire Miralis set the tone for what a black dragon should be(though I've never fought crimson or white). World comes in and fulfills my expectations of what Alatreon can do and how it differs in power from safi jiiva. But knowing that you have to really beat it down before it wipes you out was perfect to me. It wasn't surviving a hunt from a belligerent Rathalos, you're forced to push through the madness of a black dragon and injure it or be annihilated. Black dragons I feel, should have abilities that push the rules of the game because they're supposed to be feared even among legendary hunters.
Yeah Fatalis should honestly be a little more punishing
That’s an interesting point! Personally, I’d rather have it so low DPS makes it just go into a crazy powered up state (like Zinogre) with a lot of wild environmental effects (like Shagaru Magala) to basically force the player to beat it down out of that state ASAP because they absolutely can’t afford to turtle it anymore. I think that’d be cooler than just an OHKO attack

Actually you have to give alatreon enough element damage so Escaton judgment will be weakened breaking the horn only causes it to go into its element before the dragon phase

About safi'jiva: if you play dual blades, you can use the ledges in the second area to beyblade down its whole back
3:08 Monoblos wasn't the final village boss in Monster Hunter 1. The final bosses were Rathian+ and Rathalos+ together in one quest. And between this quest and the Monoblos there are also quests for Gravios Khezu and Diablos.
This list is based, especially Great Jaggi, king of the deserts. Except from one choice. Yian Gargua. I'm sorry but Yian/ Deadeye Yian, the original angry boy deserves so much more respect. Can forcefully enrage himself while already enraged, smart enough to dodge traps. In MH2 would actually follow you are to area. Back flipping, fake outs, beak stabbing, roar combos. The fact that he visually gets more and more flustered. The literally honey badger of the mh world. Na bro he deserves so much more. Also, how could you forget the cursed boy Chao Gore Magala. A Gore Magala that a Shagaru Gore personally f'ed over so it wouldn't become an elder God. Attacks a confused mess of both

I love that almost every video about Vaal Hazaak they are referring to spamming nulberries but remember fellow hunter, especially in MHW, 3 T1 decos of effluvia resistance makes the fight from unbearably frustrating and punishing monster to typical big monster
Even with full resistance, the blackveil hazaak fight still is just pure cancer because of the aoe shit and constant tick damage you take just from being in his vicinity, but the normal vaal is pretty much exactly what you described.

Seeing how many cool monsters there are in monster hunter in general, I feel like Monster Hunter Stories is missing some opportunities. Like I don’t know what that rocket looking monster is in Sunbreak but damn do I want to be able to befriend it in Stories-
Xeno get hated on only cause his weapons and armour are bad. His whole gimmick of learning his capabilities and become stronger over time is a really good idea. He starts out shooting 1 small fireball and at the end he's learned to blast full beams but still makes mistakes falling into crystals by overheating them. It's like the hunters learning the moves at the start of the game. Also Vaal hazak is good ,complaining over the effluvium is like complaining that zinogre is bad cause his thunder light is annoying and stuns too much. The decos aren't even rare
I don't think I ever fought him without effluvium resist, so to me he's always been the coolest elder dragon fight of base world
Agnaktor is one of my favorite monsters, when I saw the lavasioth cutscene in MHW and the Magma Almudron cutscene in MHR, I got so excited thinking Agnaktor would return, only to disappointingly get rebrands of monsters already in the game. RIP Agnaktor, hope you will return
earlier into me world playthrough I used to think i had some weird connection with tzitze-ya-ku because it would always use its flash on the monster i was fighting and just leave immediately after
