  • If anyone steals his Best Actor Oscar this year then It'll be a blasphemy. A humble guy with extraordinary acting in the most successful biopic movie of all time, he has that golden trophy in his bag

    • I really hope he wins and he should but idk, he does seem to have some tough competition with Bradley Cooper which apparently most critics and editors are currently predicting

    • @@anthony_a427Bradley Cooper could win, nobody else for Best Actor has a chance against these two except maybe Barry Keoghan but his film is too weird to win. I think it will almost definitely go to Cillian Murphy though. Maestro doesn’t look like a great film whereas Oppenheimer was a once in a generation film so you’d expect him to win

      @barry4649@barry46495 ай бұрын
    • @@narunatsu1 I completely agree and I find Bradley slightly overrated. I haven’t watched all of Cillian’s work but I’ve seen most of them & Peaky Blinders is my favorite show of all time and his performance in that show is better than what most Hollywood actors working today have done recently. I’m just being a little hesitant since many critics are apparently saying both actors are the main front runners

      @anthony_a427@anthony_a4275 ай бұрын
    • @@barry4649 yeah it would odd if they didn’t give it to Cillian due to Oppenheimer being such a monumental achievement for cinema whereas Maestro doesn’t even come close to that. It would also be such a cheap way for Bradley to win since he also directed that film & essentially purposely writing such a baity performance for himself. Unlike Cillian where he’s actually acting under the script of another artists vision which takes more effort for the actor.

    • Bradley has the "overdue" narrative, which carries a lot of weight, as we see often. Playing a real person who has the approval of Bernstein's children is a big plus. Cillian was awesome in Oppenheimer and I was mesmerized every time he was onscreen, but he seems to not really care whether he gets an Oscar or not. Bradley is playing every angle right now.

  • Cillian Murphy is the sort of artist who submerges into his characters to tell the story such that he becomes the voice of the narrative, never overtaking or blocking the play with his own persona. He never fights the process, his castmates or the camera like so many actors who just seem to play themselves over and over. They become typecast because they can't endure the camouflage, the mask, the skin, that a truly great actor eagerly dons in the course of telling a great story. He is a such a gifted artist, and I admire his talent and his integrity so much. Great interview, BTW. Thanks for producing this well-done piece.

  • I don’t know how Cillian Murphy isn’t sweeping the season & I say that as a huge fan of all the actors who are likely to be nominated. But Cillian is in a league of his own. He should be winning every award no contest. He gives one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in Oppenheimer. The way he carries the weight of the film on his shoulders, the way he embraces being Oppenheimer & all the moral & global consequences & costs to the man’s genius… the way he plays Oppenheimer both internalised & exposed… you FEEL every emotion that comes across his like it’s your own…even at the end you literally see the end of the world in his eyes without the visual representation… truly unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my life. A gifted actor. One of the greats of his generation. I’ll praise him to high heaven. If he doesn’t win the Oscar… it’ll be a decision the academy regrets forever. I know I’ll lose faith in the institution because he greatly deserves the honour.

He has done extraordinary work in every movie he has been in to this point and he is well respected by his peers who will be voting. I love all his movies. He can swing from scary to sad to funny to the most beautiful woman ever in Breakfast on Pluto! He is the only actor of his age that truly disappears into each role in my opinion. The movie is one of the greatest if not THE greatest biopics of all time and had me glued to my seat. Despite the 3 hour run time it didnt even really feel like 3 hours. Also I heard some people say that Ryan Gosling should win best supporting actor for his role in Barbie. WHAT?
