  • Similar thing happened to my daughter when she was young. She developed an ear infection. Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor finds these pellets inside her ear. We spend some time trying to figure out where they came from. Turns out her bean bag body pillow (which she used as a sleeping pillow) had developed this incredibly small hole, and in just the right spot, and three of those damned pellets from the pillow ended up in her ear and caused an ear infection (which she was already prone to). Needless to say once we realized what the issue was, we threw away that pillow. For all you "judgey" folks out there: No, we weren't going to try to repair it, because the fabric was thin and starting to fray - it was irreparable. Yes, we knew how to sew - it was irreparable. No, we didn't need to go to a "pillow specialist" - it was irreparable. [edited to make it clearer to all of the judgmental idiots that don't know how to read, and think we were negligently subjecting our daughter to needless pain]

But if I ever visit the US, rodeo is one of the reasons for it. Bull riding in particular, even checked the best seats on some pbr events and they ain't all that expensive. I mean who wants to sit on some boring ride in the Universal Studios when you can sit in a huge arena somewhere in Fort Worth where you and everyone else is wearing a western hat, watching a dude seriously risking his life for my entertainment? That alone for me is worth a vacation.

    • Hydrogen peroxide fizzes when in contact with any bodily fluid (not just blood) and if you have a tendency to have a lot of earwax, use warm oil drops once a week to keep it soft and stop oxidation (that's what turns it really dark brown or black)and then hydrogen peroxide drops once every 2 weeks to clean it out. If that's a lot of work, get a bulb syringe and when in the shower let your shampoo run into your ears, massage the ears, rinse them and use the bulb syringe to gently squirt in and remove clean warm water.

My dad even brought out a vacuum cleaner and my parents were so mad at him because they might have to go to a doctor and get it out and that costed money. Me and my other brother were just laughing and I took a few pictures while my dad was trying to vacuum the thing out 😂. It finally came out when my mom used a tweezer instead and they scolded my brother a lot but he was so relieved it was out and I quote "I am happy I'm not going to be deaf for the rest of my life" 😂

A night I had that similar kind of a very small thermacol protective piece of ball in my hand(got somewhere from a new thing I had bought and was with it in the box). I was just doing something in my ears with it and it went inside my ear canal 🙂. Without taking any risks of getting it out myself, I took a needle and went to my senior the next door, he told me not to move, gently with the help of that needle got that thing out, and as I sad thanks..... 👋 A slap on my face and I was stunned! He said- "You idiotic piece of shit, what the hell were you doing with it in your ear, late 1:00 in the morning?" And I was still smiling like a fool 😁

  • Messing with the ears gives me straight anxiety! I have PTSD when it comes to my ears from when I was a kid. I accidentally hit my ear drum and that hurt like hell! 😖 I also used to stick things in my ears as a kid so they had to place tubs in them. When they fell out years later I had permanent damage. Eustachian tube dysfunction. Back in 2019, I believe, I kept getting ear infections, fungal infections and had a ruptured drum in my right ear, I believe, and I nearly lost my ear drum. The doctor wanted to remove it because the infections wouldn't clear up and they were worried it would eat through the small bone separating the ear feom the brain. Every time I had to go in and get my ear sucked out I cringed. Then another doctor wanted to place tubs in my ears, I asked because I thought it would help with my condition but aftwr I saw how it's done as an adult 👀 nope. My mother made me an appointment and I was legit having nightmares. So much so I had to cancel the appointment. My mother just had tubs put in for fluid in her ears. 😮‍💨 I'm such a sissy but I can't help the fear. I just don't like people messing with my ears.

    • Omg! I've never came across someone else with eustachian tube issues like me, but here you are. My mom refused the tubes and fought tooth and nail over it with specialist, cps! And the school. Years later the Dr told my mom she saved my ears but refusing them. If I had had them it would have constantly caused inflammation and further scaring in my ear. My original damage was from being born with rotten tonsils. Developed gangrene and all. I still have issues with decibel lossage but it's minimal for what I could have ended up with. Half the folks I talk to don't know what eustachian tube's are. 😂

    • I am having a similar issue with my left ear (Cholesteatoma). Something flew in as a teenager and after poking with a cotton-swap I pierced my eardrum (hurts like hell). After that, years and years of infections, leaking ear and stinky substance later... they treated it with an antibiotic which worked for some time. But now (20 years since the bug and 10 years after antibiotics) I seem to have developed a condition which has to be operated on (Cholesteatoma). The infection causes the release of a chemical which eats away just about everything, including tissue and bone. So please kick yourself wherever you have to, to make that appointment happen. I have a scan and chirurgic measures ahead of me in Januari.
