BIGBANG and 2NE1 made YG a top label. PSY, EPIKHIGH, LEEHI and AKMU made YG the label of not only kpop but diversity. And consolidate the high level of artistry reputation that the label have. WINNER and iKON consolidate YG as a label where the boygroups are selfmade. Independent. BLACKPINK saved YG for falling off grace and remind everyone the talented artist they have, and the popularity they can achieve even in their worst moment. Always Quality. TREASURE will made YG even bigger. And all of these artists, are YG.

I don't really hate 2NE1, but as a VIP and YG stan for so long, I hate why people always put BIGBANG and 2NE1 in a sentence together. Truth is, BIGBANG MADE YG. BIGBANG even helped on making 2NE1, remember how they put 2NE1 on Lollipop in order to promote them? How they were in hiatus and not as active in Korean Entertainment by 2009, 2010 and 2011? All those years, 2NE1 has the limelight while BIGBANG stay low. Again, not to hate on 2NE1, but you're lowkey putting BIGBANGs name lower by putting BIGBANG and 2NE1 together.

And actually i never thoyght of their "korean hiatus" as a bad thing. They use those years gor solo abd subunit promotions (Albums Solar, Heartbreaker and GD&TOP, even Seungri and Dae released solo songs those years), and they consolidated themselves in Japan because they debuted there and promoted a lot, that's why they are so big there. And they did a lot of concerts. So i dont complain because maybe they didn't promote as BIGBANG in SK but they were expanding their popularity too. And putting both groups together is not looking down on BB, they were sibling groups, like Winner and iKon.

YG has a storied history to be sure but as a Blackjack I still can't forgive them for treating 2NE1 like absolute garbage. Minzy, CL, and especially Bom deserved way better from the company. I didn't include Dara because she seems to be having a decent time of things in her broadcast career, but musically she too deserved way better as well.

Tbh, I think it's not fair to blame everything on YG because we only see the "surface" we don't know what actually happened inside the company. I hope every decisions they made is the best for them all, the company and the artists

When I get into K-pop it took me months to know that there is something called BIG 3.its such a disrespect to the artists to say that their success is only because of their company. You get the attention when you debut but people don't Stan a group just because they are from BIG3.Blackpink is not the only group debut under BIG3.when blackpink achieve something ,people are like "oh BIG 3" And marketing. These two fandoms self proclaim their favourites as kings and queens and says they are the best in everything.About streaming. This also goes to these fandoms. Views in 24 hrs is a big deal for these groups. It's like an Olympics. My sister is big fan of bts. She have 5 accounts in her KZhead for streaming.its like a obsession. The same goes with blinks. It's all about numbers. Like bts dynamite reached 1st position in billboards while ice cream reached 13th. It's been 2-3 weeks. Now nobody is talking about those songs. What is the impact of these numbers then. But songs like psycho (rv) ,shine (Pentagon), growl (exo), ikon (love scenario) really really (winner) these songs may not have big numbers in billboards but these songs are still appreciated by people .Bts and Blackpink are most popular groups internaltionally. But I don't think these two groups are the most Talented groups in 3rd gen. If you ask me to pick best boy groups and girl groups in K-pop in terms of versatility, discography, vocals etc these two groups won't make top three positions in my list. The same goes with sales. When exo became the first million seller then other groups was like we should break that record. The same goes with girl groups. I won't say that these two groups are most deserving groups. All I want to say that yg status don't have that much impact in international audience. Promotions matter. SM entertainment sucks in promotions. While Bighit focused on a single group for more than 10years and done worldwide promotions and it worked.Yg also not that good in promotions but better than SM. In short today's popular groups were able to create a 'fanculture '.you put anything to the fans your fans will make it a hit. A perfect example of a fandom makes a group big. But that doesn't make them better artist. Overhype exists. But it is not only for blackpink.

Small correction * The week BIGBANG members were all discharged stocks and support skyrocketed up!! AND when BIGBANG resigned with YG the stocks rose the fastest and highest in RECORDS. Their return had a huge impact on YG's revival.

I think we should just all give credits to YG Entertainment as whole, because they everyone contributed to it. From Jinusean, Epik High, Bigbang, Psy, 2NE1, Lee Hi, Akmu, Winner, IKON, Blackpink, Sechskies, Treasure. Even their Actors, Actresses and Models. Their staffs, managers, producers, Yang Hyunsuk and Hwang Bo-Kyung. Also their all subsidiary companies, even their investors really. Also, all the fans that keep supporting them from the beginning or new to the fandoms. They deserve it, we also deserve it because together we make YG to what they are today.
Honestly the 3rd gen girl groups saved the BIG3's images to the public, RV's debut was used to cover up everything that was happening in SM(especially after members of SNSD and EXO left), they were humiliated but now they're doing good. Twice was also JYP's savior, no offense to GOT7, but because of the promotions they always get, they eventually caught the eye of the public. BLACKPINK was I guess, to replace 2ne1(they're both my ult ggs, so don't come @ me) YG was trying to rise again after their debut but they fell again in 2019, now they're coming back again. With BP's massive popularity worldwide, they sure can rise up again along with Treasure too, a 2 month rookie already sold 400-500k~ albums. I'm pretty confident, they'll give a cb for all their artists before the year ends.
I am just waiting for AKMU. TREASURE debuted, BLACKPINK had three comebacks, SECHSKIES made a comeback too, iKON too, WINNER too had a comeback. It was revealed AKMU will have the same process of comeback as BP and TREASURE, from september 🥺. I am a YG music trash y'all 🤧

Got into KPOP thanks to iKON in the weirdest way imaginable. It was 2018, BOBBY did a remix for RISE (League of Legends Worlds 2018 Song) and boy did he smash it. Then KZhead would autoplay it to Love Scenario iKON. Around that time, I judged KPOP like a book by its cover but thanks to series of autoplay I discovered lots of iKON's songs. Then went ahead watched WIN and MIX & MATCH, Long Time No See will always be my favourite song since it has so much meaning and feelings. Then I ventured to the world of KPOP. Honestly, MMA 2018 was also a beautiful moment for iKON and iKONics and I'll never forget it.

YG Entertainment is the revolution! They never fail on producing world class KPOP artists, and that's a fact. A lot of issues has struck to them, but they managed to come back stronger each time. Every group/solo artists have made their significant mark and contribution to the company and it's undeniable. @Lily Eighty Actually at first yes and it served a lot in raising people's expectations and that BLACKPINK got to be known in South Korea, but that fame faded due to poor management in promotions and not understanding that the new generations no longer they like to wait for their favorite group and a lot of fans left, being so that only the true fans stayed and they were the main impulse for BLACKPINK to move forward, their charisma was what captured the international public and that was in the times that they had lost recognition and attracted another public who did not know what company they came from or who their superiors were, making them much more known with their effort than they were in their debut.

What makes YG resilient? EVERYONE inside the agency is just pure talents, from the artists down to producers, dancers, assistants, production staff, and YG is known to pay their staff well. YG talents are hard to blot out. YG is just the trendsetter.
And the attitude of thier artist are way different from others, the swag,the humbleness and the family thing..

2ne1 needs more appreciation. I mean all the other grps from the bigger companies invested in looks,height, cute/sexy appeal and yeah,voice and dancing... but 2ne1 had charisma and stage presence. Their performances just makes you want to enjoy.. it always feels like a concert
But I can never forget my old YG. All those YG artist interactions, collaboration, comedy shows. YG was always unique. I swear all these companies that are following style and trend, YG has already done that. YG has always been 1st position in making BEST music.
I know many groups had made a huge hit in YG but BLACKPINK literally saved the company with How You Like That. Nobody can deny that if BLACKPINK hadn’t came back. YG would’ve been a lost company. Thank you BLACKPINK and all the other artists who made an impact on the company. 💙
Don't know.... They delayed the comeback multiple times. Originally the comeback was scheduled for November/december 2019.... You don't delay your crown jewel half a year if you need that money...

@@masterofIich I mean its good thing they delay, during those time the Knetz have campaign to boycott all YG artist due to Seungri scandal, so if i am YG i dont want my crown jewel to be affected to the issue they shouldn't be part of. Anyway even its late /delay, we got all it in 2020- 3 mvs, Best album, a US promotion too. I hope next year is still consistent like this year.
@@AHeranam Yeah... They didnt release anything for that matter in that time frame march19 to 2020. The first release I caught wind was Blue.D - 'NOBODY in december. This year they made a whole lot right. (new CEO?). I would go so far and hope korean blinks put up a billboard in front of the yg building with stuff like "You did good" xD

There was two things you forgot. In 2005 YG debuted an RnB three member-group called SoulStar. That group was dubbed the Korean Boyz II Men because of their soulful voice comparable to their american counterparts but it was short lived because their leader suffered from a sickness that is deemed incurable (diabetes which is also affecting his vision). Also Gummy made her debut in 2003 and was one of the most successful artists YG ever had. If i may add as for their girl groups, they used to have three member group Swi.T and four member group Big Mama as the true sunbaenims to 2NE1 and Blackpink. Swi.T is supposedly the Korean TLC but they flopped and Big Mama was known for their powerful vocals.
As a blink since 2016, i actually really like yg entertainment, I don't know why people say Blackpink should change their company just because of less comeback, without yg, no Blackpink, and they fit the best in yg entertainment.

Let's not forget that after the news of the BB members renewing their contracts with YGE, their stocks SKYROCKED. Plus despite the damaged image in 2019, YGE was still afloat thanks to Winner, AKMU and Lee Hi because they have a REALLY good reputation in South Korea, the general public love them.

Remember that the the first appearance of BP in an award show? they didn't have any 'FANS' to support them but they wowed most of the people because they were a talented and one of the most controversial rookies not because they were "2NE1's sister or sumn". BLACKPINK paved their own way. Call us toxic or whateva but BLACKPINK wasn't a duplicate of anyone else. 2ne1 is 2ne1 and BLACKPINK is BLACKPINK.

Winner is really successful and popular in Korea and Ikon are the award holders of YG. Every single of their groups are killing it in different categories
Underrated is a wrong word to describe them. People think if a group have no international success then they are underrated.They may not have a big fandom. But their songs are loved by general public. For me they are not idols they are artists. And other thing is that they are not mainstream and their music is also not so generic.

I was raised by listening to YG family songs since I was a baby because of my mom. Their music, style and their love for the stage amazed me all the time. 2ne1 basically was with me since I was in elementary-middle school. Especially when I felt insecure or when I felt like I was on top of the world. I looked up to them, really grateful to yg and yg artists for everything they’ve done. #ygbaby

I got into yg actually from treasure. I first watched them through their reality show and it brought me to all their covers of 2ne1 and big bang which made me even more interested in them.

Will always remember YG having Anthem portions near the end of their usual KPOP songs. This formula killed it! Especially with Big Bang’s discography.
My Love for YG Artists will never die. Through BIGBANG I came to know YGE, then YG artists (BLACKPINK was about to debut in a month back then) and then I came to the whole Kpop world. And I learnt the Kpop groups through Weekly idol show, the first Weekly idol episodes I watched was B1A4, and then BTS and the list goes on. Actually when I watched BIGBANG's music videos I realised that I have watched their "We belong together" and "Lie" music videos way years back when I was a school going teenage girl.
Every group will come and go, but Koreans will always remember Big Bang, 2ne1 and snsd. And globally fan will remember bts and Blackpink.
