I've been very lucky to go to one of their concerts and I got so much value from it. Nonstop breathtaking performances and all the songs were really good. Everyone was singing along. It was surreal.

2ne1 was the most feared group of their era. Whenever they released their comebacks, there were reportedly comebacks from other groups getting postponed because 2ne1 would always smash the chart and winning music shows award back to back (they're the ONLY girl group to this very day to have ever completed the most coveted Daesang awards of Mnet alone). Their award shows performances were the most watched. In fact, they once broke the ratings of Gayo Daejun with their performance (the ratings almost doubled within 5 minutes of their live performance). Last but not the least, they're the first EVER kpop girl group to have ever held a world tour and a successful one at that. They may have disbanded, but their legacy lives on. They're the idols of your idols. Queens FOUREVER!

The "Ugly" jokes weren't jokes. Minzy said in an interview that it was said multiple times over the years to them by their company and opened the Korean public to critiquing their visuals too. It caused them a lot of mental weight and depression and because she couldn't read English, she had no clue all about all the nice things international fans had to say.

I will never forget the performance 2NE1 had to do when Park Bom had to leave due to her scandal. CL was PISSED and you can hear the emotion in her voice. Powerful performance, and extremely painful because you know why CL sang her heart out - but man, the love between the girls.

You forgot some things so here we go: -During 2016 YG was always promising a comeback for 2NE1 but then we only had the goodbye song. -Bom also wanted to keep the contract with YG but he just fired her out of nowhere. -Bom dissapeared because of the hate (you meant that in the video but you didn't explicit it) -CL and Dara are still in YG but he just doesn't give any solo comeback to CL since 2016. He's been keeping her in the dungeon and CL said that she already recorded more than 200 songs and 50 MV's and all of them were deleted. -Minzy during 2009-2011 went trough a REALLY HARD depression and Teddy Park was the one who helped her.

I'm more disappointed at how the Korean public handles scandals and rumors than how YG handles it.
True. The korean public are at fault too with this beehive and mob and cookie cutter/clean cut/ perfectionist (for artistes) mentality. Im pretty sure if this happened in the US or west and they were western artistes, it wouldnt have affected their career path that much since a lot of hiphop artistes or even artistes in general talk about weed and drugs and the public doesnt really ridicule or bat an eye and condemn people who take prescribed drugs, or even drugs for that matter. Cant believe they got cancelled for a stupid reason bcoz of the korean public and media. They are definitely the pioneers and trendsetters before other kpop girl groups made an impact globally. Plus they have distinctive faces and voices which are easily recognizable compared to a lot of these kpop girl groups. The only other girl group whom can be easily recognizable from their faces AND voices are mamamoo who truly deserve all the success for not fitting in the typical kpop girl group mold. Blackpink are ok and they are globally recognizable but jisoo and rose’s voices and faces constantly get me confused compared to lisa and jennie’s and their doors were opened bcoz 2ne1 paved the way for them, plus they got the push from YG.
I literally got goosebumps when I saw the footage of the surprise stage. I don’t really know much about 2NE1, but I could really feel that overwhelming, jittery atmosphere from such a short clip and can confidently say that they’re the queens of kpop. Girl crush concepts are HUUUUUGE in kpop and it’s because of them! It sucks that YG didn’t handle the scandal to the best of his abilities💔

Kinda suspicious when the whole Bom issue happened in 2010 and the writer really dig on her issue and revealed a settled issue in 2014 when Bom is gaining recognition as a variety star and 2ne1 become the highest charting kpop album in bb200. It happened when they are touring. YG did a one on one interview with disoatch and settled with a trauma story to justify why Bom is taking Aderall turns out that Bom didnt want to reveal her ADD (this is based on Bom's interview after signing with a new label). As much as yg is trash, entertainment industry is just very cruel to women. You cant make a huge mistake while when a man did this, they are taken lightly. YG should have not given up on 21. I love BP and i hate the fact that no matter what they achieve, YG ent still gave them the bare minimum. He's afraid, women are the ones carrying the company and his dick cant stand it. I am just new to Kpop and a Blink, but to be honest I have watched 2ne1 performances in YT lately and they just rock the stage every time. They own the stage and give such powerful performances. I just wish I had known them while they are still together.

I didn't even know about kpop when 2NE1 and BIGBANG were promoting but they're my favorite (not only kpop but my favorite in general) artists. I'm kinda sad I didn't experience them releasing music and promoting tho :( but we're getting some solo projects so at least we keep getting new stuff and I'm more than happy about that
I feel so sad for them because they have disbanded. As I recall in my high school days, 2NE1 was a huge massive group back on those days. They were the ones who brought and made KPop music as a succesful music genre here in the Philippines. Filipino fans and the general audience here in the country easily loved them because DARA or better known "Sandara Park" is a member of the girl group and she has already made her impact in the local scene before debuting to the group. I am so happy with their achievements, though they have disbanded but I'm wishing they would make their comeback to YG. Since the company have a new CEO, I think it would be a smart move to sign them back next year and release new music. 2NE1 for 2021 would be a great concept and timing.
I've been a fan of Dara since 2004, when she joined an audition show in the Philippines and finished second. I was her fan since Day 1, during the evaluation audition. Even in the Philippines, she has been told that she had no talent--she was an OK singer, but she couldn't dance nor act well. But what she always had was perseverance and charm. She would attend extra dance classes and practice acting more. If you knew Dara's full story since 2004, you'd stan her more.
