This Bear Was Drowning In The Ocean. You Won’t Believe What This Guy Did About It.
When it comes to most animals and insects, you’ve probably heard the expression, “They’re more afraid of you than you are of them,” right? Still, that can be hard to believe! After all, how could an animal possibly be afraid of you if they have the power to bite or sting you and inflict some serious damage?
That said, any animal-no matter how big or dangerous-deserves to be rescued whenever they venture into our space and find themselves in peril. When a bear ended up in a frightening situation, one man had to make a decision between trying to save the animal’s life and risk losing his own…

  • As someone else mentioned below, animals rarely forget when they are helped. Adam, my hat's off to you, sir. That took some serious guts, but I think it is more then that. I believe that your compassion, kindness and sense of caring for all life overpowered your common sense in a very worthy way - a difficult task for humans in general.     • I disliked it because of the narration "instead of sedating him the dart set the bear into a panic" You Should Know that at the first moments after being hit by a dart animals get into a panic or angry and you need time for the sedative to take effect.

  • What a cutie. I love bears. Yes, they can be dangerous; but I think all animals deserve life. I'm really thankful this man found it in his heart to save the bear from drowning. Most animals don't want anything to do with humans, but those that come across us are just as afraid as we are of them. The main reasons why most animals attack humans are because they are afraid for their life or are protecting their families.

    • This comment is old as dirt, but I just had to comment that territorial animals (like bears and specially black bears) attack ANY living thing they find around what they consider to be their turf. Some are more aggressive than others, but that's just in the nature of territorial animals, and that's what makes them dangerous. So no, often they're not afraid of YOU, they want to take your turf.

    • I can feel that, but don't lose faith in all people. There are still some great, kind people out there. But animals hold a truly special place in my heart - I grew up with a giant fluff ball (border collie mix) that I loved more than anything; and I've always loved helping animals or respecting their space. : )

  • That was an incredibly brave thing to do. Way to go Adam! We had a young bear visit us at our cabin in the Montana woods. My Dad tried to feed him some dead gophers. The bear didn't want them. After my Dad tried a second time, the bear got irritated. He growled and swung at a three foot pine sapling. He sheared it off in one swipe. That would have been a hard thing for a man with an axe to do because the sapling was so supple. Our whole family was impressed with how strong that year old bear was.

People are lazy ..self centered and do not care for anything more than self gratification... Most are out hunting abusing skinning and killing animals.. Not saving conserving and rescuing... Its now a rare thing.. Thus it makes this type of news!!!! This is why this heroic deed jas been recognized. There are tons of people in this world but very few heroic truly caring people exist..     • Wanda Burgess exactly......he's a role model for saving that bear....not hunting and shooting it. It took massive physical strength to save that bears life....but it takes no power or strength to pull a trigger to shoot a bear......I'm against bear hunting and idolizing big game hunters....so to me this man is amazing.
