  • Tip for making the bolt holes in the carpet, when you find the hole below, poke a soldering iron into it, it will melt a hole in the carpet and finish it in a way that the edges of the carpet round the hole wont fray open in later years.

  • I need to learn how to weld, looks like fun work. My HDJ81 has some small rust spots in the wheel wheels that need to be done. Seam sealer for the win! Wire brush for the under carpet. I have a few stacks of Noico to do as well. Thank you for a great video!

  • truck is looking great! on that carpet cut, if you used some heat sealed carpet seam tape and carpet iron, you could close that seam to unnoticeable.

  • Always amazes me people want carpet floors in a 4x4 , rubber floor matting is the go , just my opinion tho , is it used to take kids to school and shopping then carpet ok , but you going atchly 4wheel driving , if so rubber flooring a must trust me

    @davidmilledge221@davidmilledge2215 ай бұрын
    • I initially wanted rubber/vinyl flooring. The only option I found available had bad reviews as far as how well the fit/finish was. Carpet with weather tech floor mats is plenty of coverage in my opinion! Without those mats, I agree it wouldn’t survive haha. This truck sees everything from deep mud to rocks and the interior still looks just as good as it did end of this video! I always make it a point to keep it clean inside. At most I have to remove the mats and pressure wash them & clean any mud that manages to find its way into a window that I didn’t put up in time haha.

  • I have a 3D printed cup holder where those shifter console holes are. You will want it as 80s have crap holders. Also - 4x4 labs makes a basket system that mounts on those 3rd row seat mounts.

    @adamshelton4431@adamshelton44317 ай бұрын

  • Great video! You said you fixed the speedometer, is there a video on that?

    @filmstorieswithandrewv.9464@filmstorieswithandrewv.9464 Жыл бұрын
    • No sir as it was just a broken wire on the sub harness that runs from the back of the VSS sensor on the tail of the tcase, to the first connector on top of the trans. I started ohming the harness which is 3 wires and saw one was open and not ohming so pulled the sub harness out (super easy) and found a broken wire and fixed it 👍🏼 Before this I pulled my speedo assuming the board was fried like most are and it was fine. Also the scanner was showing that the VSS was read MPH so I knew both of those were okay and it had to be a wiring issue.

  • It seems like it would be better to glue the carpet to the floor. Idk why but the factory carpet lies very smooth and even.

    @NickolasBerdzenishvili@NickolasBerdzenishvili4 ай бұрын
    • It would be nice! Unfortunately that wouldn’t let you be able to run wires or anything of that nature under the carpet once it was in place.

  • Are all the 80 series dashboards interchangeable? I have a 92 with a different dash and want to switch to this dashboard on your Land Cruiser.

    @tallkidluke1968@tallkidluke19689 ай бұрын
    • It would think so! I’m just not sure about all the other bits being interchangeable. For example any of the plastics that butt up against the dash. As well as the connectors for other items such as factory switches in the dash!

  • 0 seconds ago I have this 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 (gasoline) and has a problem related to the ABS. When the vehicle almost comes to a complete stop, the brake pedal vibrates with a sound and tends to drive the vehicle to the right. If I disable the ABS, this concern does not happen. My mechanic tried cleaning all the sensors of the ABS, but the problem is still there. Can you please help me out?

    @jackmichael9606@jackmichael96065 ай бұрын
    • Hey- 95 driver here. Just remove the 2 ABS sensor holder bolts on top backside of caliper/knuckle housing, and pull it up gently with the wires attached. Use a clean rag and wipe the pronged magnetic sensors off completely. Reinstall, that will buy some time until metal shavings build up again. Ideally get in there and Clean out old grease. Replace the front bearing set and race rings to specifications. Hope that’s a temporary fix. $300+ diy, or 1000+ if shop. It’s not that hard to do in my experience.
