••• SVALBARD PHOTO ADVENTURE •••
PART 2: • SVALBARD Photo Adventu...
PART 3: • SVALBARD Photo Adventu...
I am on Svalbard for 10 days to photograph wildlife and landscapes. My plan is to get dropped off by boat on a small desolated island and stay there for a little less than a week to enjoy life with wild camping, wildlife photography and beautiful landscapes.
After a very bumpy boat ride I manage to set up my basecamp and surround it with the polar bear alarm. Using the very last light I am making my first time lapses on this trip and I get a glimpse of both the arctic fox and the Svalbard reindeer. I don't get close though so this is a great opportunity to do some landscape photography.

  • Can we take a moment and appreciate how much effort this man puts into these videos. It is mind blowing to me that i get to watch this for free. The amount of time and effort to set up all these cameras by yourself, always be on top of everything capturing multiple angles and editing this perfectly to have no dead space in the videos. On top of that create stunning photos and time lapses. Well done, thank you for sharing.

  • Hard to even describe what Morten brings to his audience. If ever there was an example of living your best life, it’s him. And always with gratitude. More Morten, less of everything else.

    • I understand. It's such a beautiful landscape. I can understand the need for adventure and to photograph the wild. Your guns and rifles were very often predominantly shown in your video - and as we all know - the wilderness and uninhabited areas belong to those beautiful wild animals. Anyone would be aghast if any were shot or killed to protect a human - just for getting a pretty picture! Best of luck.

  • I don't know Morten, when I see these landscapes, feel the nature in a video, listen the sound of silence. This is almost touching me, every person should make an adventure like yours. Just for understand what nature is! Photographer or not. Taste how our species has grown. Nice Job Morten, have a nice night.

  • Lovely. I'm in bear country and your preparation is great. Ultimately it is to prevent the bear from being harmed. Early notice, then lots of noise and commotion and hopefully they leave, but something for the last resort for survival. More bears die here from being trained to find food around humans than anything else. With your preparation both you and the bear will live to see another day.

  • Very well done, Morten. Loved the timelapses and your interesting commentary. When backpacking in Alaska I've used a battery-powered electric fence that worked really well for brown bears. We even stored our food inside the fence and never had a single issue with bears even though they were all around us. The fence is powered by two ordinary D-cells that last for up to a month. Anyway, I'm going to watch Svalbard Part II now and I'm prepared to totally enjoy it.
