••• SVALBARD PHOTO ADVENTURE •••
PART 1: • SVALBARD Photo Adventu...
PART 2: • SVALBARD Photo Adventu...
I am on Svalbard for 10 days to photograph wildlife and landscapes. My plan is to get dropped off by boat on a small desolated island and stay there for a little less than a week to enjoy life with wild camping, wildlife photography and beautiful landscapes.
A huge thank you to Greendog Svalbard for helping me out on this adventure.
Check out their website for vinter adventures on dogsled: greendog.no/
SVALBARD Photo Adventure part 1: • SVALBARD Photo Adventu...
SVALBARD Photo Adventure part 2: • SVALBARD Photo Adventu...
I get a lot of rain and wind during the night, but in the morning it is clearing up, and I can go out to do some bird photography. Unfortunately I do not find the fox - not on the island at least!
A storm forces me to get a pick up before planned, and heavy rain and high winds forces me to stay indoor for 4 more days.
On the very last day though it get better, and I go to a small valley where I am really lucky to get some very nice photos..
In the next video I will talk about and demonstrate some of the safety equipment I brought in this photo adventure to Svalbard including flare gun, smoke grenade, rifle etc.

  • There is something about your photographic study of a lone animal that brings into perfect focus its special majesty, fine beauty and deeply valuable existence. The fox was the icing on the cake, but all of it, each precious animal, the time-formed landscape, the elements constantly in motion, the subtle colours, the intense atmosphere and the suspense makes the watching of your films a very special experience. Thanks Morten.

  • Morten, thank you for the lovely series of your trip up to Svalbard. Your videos have inspired me to get out and about so much more. Been taking photos for over 50 years and been fortunate enough to travel many places, but in the last year or two, between you and Ben Horne KZhead, I have gone back to some old routes and spending more and more time of just going out into nature with a simple tent, sleepy bag and essential gear and enjoying what God has given us in nature. The first two parts of this series, prodded me to get out of the RV for the long weekend and head out to Death Valley.Just me and the tent and gear and not particular schedule.Managed to revisited DV and find some new spots, got up early to catch the sunrise from Dante's View overlooking the salt ponds of Badwater, got the Sunset and colors of Artist Drive, had fun exploring Rhyolite, captured Darwin Falls and lots of hiking and shooting.Unlike you though, I did not have to make a choice between the solar charging and coffee since the batteries were all well charged and power at campground was available, so by my nature also, coffee was priority. So much so that I finally bought a Jet Boil to get it quicker, thought I still carry my gas similar to your for other ( a 20 year old MSR Whisperlite-still going strong BTW).I am still going through nearly 400 photos taken of some great landscape and a little wildlife (even manage to get close up of one of the Wild Burros found at in and around DV).I want to thank you for the inspiration to drag the 62 year old bones out more often and spread them out in a nice cozy sleeping bag under a little 3 man tent. Your videos have inspired me and I thank you for that.Best to you and yours

  • Just got back from an amazing encounter with wild red deer stags somewhat local to me. My motivation was extremely low after not having a lot of free time but I watched one of your videos and pushed myself out the door! Just looking through the photos now and they are epic! Maybe not as great as the captive deer in London parks that have been plastering the Internet lately as they always do this time of year but I think they are amazing and that's all that matters! Thanks again for the inspiration! Now I enter home through the kitchen door and I see this and it's made my day! Time for the 4K TV to get some use again 👍👍😁😁👍👍

      @JoeMaranophotography@JoeMaranophotography4 жыл бұрын
    • I know exactly what you mean , Joe. Motivation to get out and photograph actual wild deer when there are so many Richmond Park ‘perfect’ shots doing the rounds is hard. I’m going to Studley Royal tomorrow to photograph the park deer, I expect the shots to be so much better than the ones from local woods, but I get so much more pleasure from trail camera footage of deer, foxes and badgers in those local woods as they are ‘wild’ - even though my chances of getting a decent photo of any of them are so much less.

      @HampshireHog63@HampshireHog634 жыл бұрын
    • @@HampshireHog63 I think the main reason I find it annoying is that to those that aren't in the know these are wild shots when in fact they aren't!
