Snow Pea? More like Snow POOP! When my foster kitten Snow Pea didn't poop for more than 48 hours, I gave her a gentle warm water enema to help get things moving and grooving. Enemas are a great skill to keep in your tool kit, but be sure to seek in-person training from a professional before giving your first enema. 30 years ago, if someone said I'd be watching a cat getting an enema on a little hand held phone, I would've had them committed.
I'm surprised I wasn't even the slightest bit disgusted. It's like it wasn't real poop? And the fact the poor baby needed help with that makes it all alright.

Me and my ex named one of our cats after the way she used the litter box as a kitten.

one of my cats does something similar but its cause he has anxiety. He has a dog crate with a litterbox inside it and will meow for me to close the door while he goes to the bathroom, if I dont hear him or get there in time he rushes out and looks around like he's just dodged an assassin

I have no idea why I was recommended this but the creator’s obvious and demonstrative love and care for that poor kitty has impacted my day and I shall go forth and strive to be that gentle warm water enema to all I encounter today.

stimulating kittens to pee and poo.. When I show people how I pee and poop the kittens I foster they get all weirded out. It's no big deal. Their cuteness far outweighs their pooping and peeing into a tissue as I stimulate them. The mother cat stimulates them to pee and poo with her tongue.

You could see how she was moving around and trying to get away while the she had the enema in and as soon as the poop started to come out she relaxed in Hannah's hands. Poor baby must have felt so relieved!!!

When my rescued cat got good poop after a few weeks of Giardiasis, took a picture of it and sent to my gf to celebrate lol

I just watched a kitten have an enema, and before that I watched a guy take a ton of impacted poop out of a python. Thats enough KZhead for the day.
We found a little kitten in a barn that had anal stricture with a huge lump on its bum. It was shaking and suffering so we brought it home and ran its behind under warm water. It took a long time but eventually it did have a bowel movement. We took it to a vet who said to euthanize it because it couldn’t be helped but we didn’t listen. We sprinkled Miralax on its food every day and squeezed its little bum for about a year. He’s five years old now, healthy, and the cutest boy. We’re glad we saved him. Kitten Lady is so devoted and knows everything about how to save cats. She’s amazing.

As someone with Crohn's disease, it really is such a great feeling to FINALLY have something normal happen, like a successful bodily function. Really puts life into perspective

As a fellow Crohnie, I couldn't agree more! One of my very first foster kittens had IBS and I knew exactly how miserable he felt. Of course I adopted him, and celebrated finding a treatment that worked for him as if it was for me too.
I couldn't imagine having to manage such intense issues like Crohn's disease. I don't know too much about the disease but boy can I empathize! I get severely backed up because of medication and sometimes can't poop for 2 weeks and I get so insanely uncomfortable and miserable.
Chronic IBS from birth, I agree! I think an appreciation for the small things comes with having troubles with the most necessary functions in life. Chronic troubles with breathing, eating, pooping, and keeping our hearts beating just changes us. ♡
@@ivechang6720 agreed. Also had chronic IBS since birth and I couldn't agree more. I'm now at 9 chronic conditions and a few suspected autoimmune conditions, and in our house we celebrate pooping 💩

I just helped a family member with their first foster kitten. They were having similar issues & when the little one finally did the deed, we were so excited. We just kept saying, "he pooped! He pooped!!!!!" 🤣

This left no room at the inn, so to speak. We got 9 kittens for our "maiden voyage" into kitten foster hood. Your videos and book are a life saver! God bless you!
I work as a human nurse and I absolutely love when we can help our constipated patients get out their poop. In fact, most of the nurses at the station also let out a cheer/ sign of relief. An enema is one of the last steps. So other humans with constipation issues, don't just grab the enemas off the shelf use other stool softeners first. NEVER strain to hard- it will only cause worse problems than just constipation!
I learned that as a kid in the '90s watching The X-Files! They were investigating a death in a bathroom that Scully was insisting was a stroke from straining too hard and as a chronically constipated kid that scared me enough to never push hard again! 🤣

In emergency vet med, we love catching foreign bodies early enough to induce vomiting and avert surgical intervention. Getting a silly doodle to puke up the sock or diaper he just ate gets the room to cheer. It's nice to know our counterparts also have little victories to cheer about!
When my daughter was an infant I had to use that Fleet Pedia Lax enema thing on her because she was badly constipated and was in pain. It worked right away. I didn't want to go that route lol but it was better than watching her suffer. She let out a HUGE load then was instantly relieved. It makes me sad that some people can't tell that's the reason their baby is crying at times.
Hannah actually has a few GREAT tips to do before doing an enema. I tried the bum under warm water thing it worked. 100%!!

my kitten was 2 days old and was given antibiotics for an infected flea bite on her paw, she couldn't poop afterwards so our vet gave her an enema every two days for an entire week! he only charged $20 to do it every visit. He also gave us a MAJOR discount on her spay and shots... great guy

Lol... probably because he passed off the "dirty" work to the techs. The perks of all the time spent getting a VMD or MD is delegating the more... unpleasant... aspects to someone else. (I'm just messing with you.... mostly. Some do treat techs/nurses/students like that but not all. If every one else has their hands full, I'll change a brief or empty a catheter bag myself. Did it for years as a CNA. Medical school doesn't make you too good for such tasks. Hope your kitty is happy and healthy 😊)

At the start Snowpea just wanted to play. Then not too happy with a tube going up her butt. Aaaah, what a relief, she said with her facial expression.
This is why it's important to not be afraid to cause your children or kittens or pets discomfort. Many things that make them feel a lot better in the long run make them feel uncomfortable, painful or afraid for a short while. Yes, your baby may cry from an injection, but babies also cry when you cut their fingernails.
I have terrible colitis and chronic constipation. I was totally cheering Snowpea on out loud and not even sorry about it. I can only imagine how much better that sweet baby felt!

November 23, 2020. My husband found a tiny kitty outside, and he brought that to me. I was so tensed, because he was to tiny to live without a mother! And it was very risky to leave him outside with the cold wind going on, so I decided to take care of him. Googled many things about raising kittens, how to do bath, how to feed, how to make them poop and all those stuff! Later on KZhead I was searching about kitten then I found your channel! I've learned all those things practically. I wasn’t sure if he will be alive, but he did it! I'm so proud of him! I love him a lot! He is one of the best gifts I've got from my husband. Thanks to you. You're the best.
