  • Anyone else notice that Lianne is the epitome of this lesson? She's literally just thrilled to be alive and living her best life. Even a seagull knocking down her castle is worthy of being part of her epic summer and she doesn't want the stuff she just wants to hold it a moment and she's happy. His excitement having new things feels so much smaller than mine, and school hasn’t even started yet for me.   • I half agree with this. He should be happy what he has or how far he’s come, but it shouldn’t stop him from thriving for more. He just needs to focus on himself now vs where he was before. Just leave out the comparison to others. Going too far into his mindset might make him too complacent as an adult (eg. Sticking to a minimum wage job, settling for less than what he deserves, lack of ambition.etc).

Everyone has different new things such as backpacks, shoes, etc. However, there'll always be someone who is showing off their better stuff and you'll be full of envy and jealousy.
