A scrambler 650 & a classic 650 are also coming this year if you're looking forward something new
I would love a classic 650
The 650 scrambler has been nothing more than a rumour since at least 2018, including RE's own mock up bike (which looked great). I think the 452 Himalayan will bury the rumour once and for all, but I could be wrong
@@jerzywoking1699 i saw both being tested a week ago, scrambler had the new himalayan TFT dash and 2 into 1 short exhaust,i asked the test rider on a stoplight when both bikes will hit the indian market.he told me both of them will be available by year end if things go well. I've seen it testing for atleast 2 year's now
@@jerzywoking1699 i have personally seen the test bikes recently, the scrambler comes with the Himalayan 450 TFT dash,2 into 1 short exhaust, USD forks. I'm just hoping they do something new with the engine too ,it's starting to get a bit stale now
@@jerzywoking1699My dealer has told me there will be another 3 bikes in 2024, 1. 650 Scrambler, the rest I haven't managed to get out of him yet. Trawling the Internet, it looks like a Roadster/Scram 450, A 350 Bobber, and maybe a Classic 650.
My heart says Continental GT, my back says Interceptor.
You got me here, brother.
@@LuiMateo I used to have to take ibuprofen before going on a ride longer than an hour on the Fireblade, realized then that it might be time to go for something where you're vertical instead of horizontal 🥲
u can just add clip ons for the feeling ig. Might be a bit more comfortable coz is higher.
I simply tell others... for years all manufactures built a 650 Twin.. BSA,,, Triumph, Yamaha.... and many others... Royal Enfield produced the 650 the others wanted to make. 😎
I lust over the Comtinental GT, coming from a Supersport rider! Royal Enfield has gained my respect! Beautiful, fun and affordable! 👍🏽
You should check out the Mr. Clean edition of the GT
Agree. It looks gorgeous. Want one but sadly the Enfield distributor in my country charge ridiculous prices for them.
One word, Interceptor. Not even a question. It is definition of a motorcycle.
Great review and just the info I wanted. Thank you.
I have an Interceptor but I'd seriously consider the Shotgun 650 if buying again just for the Showa Separate Function Big Piston Fork in the front and Showa Twin Shock in the rear. The seat is bolted directly to the rear shock which should positively affect riding stability.
Wish I was man enough to “downgrade” to a Shotgun. Cool bike and I love that modular seat system. 👍🏻👍🏻
Last month I bought a Royal Enfield Continental GT650 in Rocker Red. I think it looks beautiful.
Old is Gold love for Eoyal Enfield 1965 my 1st bike
Waiting for that Classic 650
As long as it comes in dark stealth black.
@@virgilhawkins5680yes my bestie 😊
I am Royal Electric Classic bike
I ride the GT and am in love with it, but I test rode the Super Meteor last month and was mightily impressed. Thank you for the detailed comparison; it really made me consider the Shotgun more seriously. I don't think anyone can go wrong with this selection of bikes: Royal Enfield have made an incredible parallel twin that is proving to be their signature.
I’d love the super meteor blacked out. Love the shot gun look but want the design to be more cruiser. Other than blackout, my mods would be bar end mirrors, led turn indicators, bags and maybe a medium-ish windscreen. Another gadget I love: keyless ignition.
Taking delivery of my Shotgun 650 this weekend. The Shotgun is perfect for people like me that live in the central U.S. where most of our roads are straight lines, but there are some hidden gems of riding roads where something a bit more sporty makes it fun.
Well I am jealous here, lol congratulations and enjoy the ride. Stay safe
I love the look of the Meteor 650
Why can’t the manufacturer give us a belt drive instead of chain on these low power bikes? I get the reason on sport and off road bikes, but if you want to tour and do big miles the maintenance on the chain is a pain. Harley has used belts for decades and they require minimal attention. All the best!
They now make an aftermarket set of pulley's and a belt out of Taiwan but it's like 600 bucks. I watched a video about it.
I like the shotgun …
I really appreciate the retro bikes. Try them on for comfort. I favor the GT. I own a thruxton love it .😊 nice review. 👍
I am excited about the 650 scrambler, if done right, that would be my pick.
RE mocked up a Street Scrambler in 2018, which looked great. But the development and launch of the 452 Himalayan has probably ended the 650
@@jerzywoking1699nope, those twin cylinders power is beyond Himalayan 452
I have 2023 Mr Clean Continental Gt650 and I love it
It's definitely between the Shotgun and Super Meteor for me. Thanks for the great video. Other reviews have said that the Super Meteor excels on the larger, straight roads whilst the Shotgun is like a jack of all trades, with exceptional performance on the windy, country lanes. Would you agree with this? If that's the case, I would sway towards the Shotgun as these are the roads I will be riding most of the time. Also, I think it would find the Shotgun footpeg position more comfortable in the first instance but am sure I'd get used to the Super Meteor. Thanks for the great content as always
Agree about the GT650, absolute blast down country lanes, quite different to my INT650
my pick would be either interceptor (black or crome) or Super meteor (black). I like the shotgun design as well, practically u need pillion seat in day-to-day ride. but, I don't like the bike's look from rear with the sub-frame seat. if you remove the seat, but keep the sub-frame, then it looks somewhat good. But, when you add the seat to sub-frame, then it doesn't look great from back, idk why, maybe it's due to the lack of design to the seat. Although, I have to say, that the idea of sub-frame where you can use it as a seat or a luggage rack is a great idea.
Thanks for the excellent RE 650 model review. From the currently available lineup, the Interceptor is my clear choice. Seems like a lot of folks are waiting for a hypothetical, price-unknown Classic 650. In my view, the Interceptor (INT 650 in the US) already ticks all the boxes for a new classic-style bike I can get out and actually ride this Spring without breaking the piggy bank. Cheers
Have never heard of a single problem with the 650 engine. Gearbox problems quite common on the Triumph twins.
Looking forward for bullet 650.
Awesome video @Motobob. Thank You
This was so comprehensive Bob, it should be a marketing video for RE. Which in reality,, it is. Good 👍 job.. The Conti is beautiful,, but the Shotgun is obviously the most versatile. I'd have to call Shotgun 💯.
Shotgun looking good! Meteor was my old favorite 😍
Super Meteor 650 any day, but a classic 650 would be nice. Wonder if they will ever do a water cooled version....
What are the difference between continental GT model 2024 vs 2019?
Love the Continental but would love even more if it has more power and less weight ❤😊
I own an RE, but, we realy need a 650 ADV, or 2 cilinder adv
Why?
@@jerzywoking1699why not 😂😏
Interceptor all the way! But honestly, they all look great for their intended purpose. I'm expecting the day RE will present an 800 Interceptor! You said something about a Quadlock offer but I don't see the link...
Yes they really need something in the 750 to 850 range and an 800 would be perfect. That would give you the power you need to gear the bike up just a little by changing the sprocket and yet not lose any acceleration.
With inexpensive parts from India you can create a hybrid interceptor /continental gt like my Interceptor. I have GT foot controls and a solo saddle with a cowl and it looks awesome.
Continental GT 650. One of the best motorcycles ever built.
I'd love a new Classic 650 if it was available... So bassed on what RE offers now I'd pick an Interceptor with a black painted engine.
I own a gt650. it always joy to ride it on the twisties .
Here in New Zealand the enthusiasm for the RE marque seems to be dropping off and now there are a lot of used, low mileage bikes for sale. Not quite powerful enough seems to be the most common reason for selling, good bikes, but need another 10 or even 20 hp.
I agree. same here in Australia, a lot of low km bikes on sale. Resale value has gone down the drain. Definitely needs more power. lot of people using the 865 big bore kit but thats almost the same cost as the bike.
@@jatinthakur3491 Yup, trying to make them faster is a mugs game, the rest of the chassis, the suspension and brakes don't support higher speed, better off with classic looking Triumph.
@@jatinthakur3491 And, I know a bloke who bought a Continental GT a year ago and it has literally done 650 kms (not thousand, 650!) and he can't sell it, even for $5k less than he paid for it.
Yep, I'm in the market for a 650-ish bike at the moment and an SV650 seems a much better bet. A Conti GT with 70HP would change my mind in an instant.
@@sd3457 The SV (or even Vstrom) would be twice the bike the RE could ever be, good choice.
I would pick the Shotgun first and then the Continental. Wish RE models had more horses. Im only gonna pick a RE if it has black exhaust. Not interested in polishing that chrome all the time
The Interceptor would be my pick, but the exhaust position is limiting for luggage.
I can't stand forward controls. Even thought the Interceptor 650 foot pegs are in a weird position I'd rather have it than forwards.
I'm waiting for upcoming RE Classic 650❤.
If I ever decide to get a RE I will go for the Continental 650
Really like the look of the Shotgun. First thing I’d do is get rid of those pea shooter exhausts for some shorter shots.
If the weight of the shotgun was the same as the interceptor it would he a no brainer. That said IMHO the interceptor is still the best bang for the buck.
I had an interceptor, I really miss it. It was a very traditional motorcycle style, good for a daily ride. I`ll plan to buy a shotgun in the future...
Anyone of their 650's that makes at least 85 to 100hp. Then I'll buy one. American highways are brutal and you need the power to keep up with traffic these days. Two lane roads are fine with their current HP ratings.
The sensible bike category deserves ingenious marketing and just a whiff of attitude.
It looks to me that the Shotgun should have been lighter than the Interceptor! Roll on Hunter 450 I guess....
The problem is that the Shotgun shares the Super Meteor frame although slightly modified. So that makes it more heavy. Plus it has metal wheels instead of spokes I think.
They are very robust bikes with a price comparable to Yamaha mt07/xsr700 or similar from other brands in my country. They are a bit underpowered for me with very short gears. More for chill city ride / around the hood ride. Also I find the brakes so so. If they were a few k cheaper than those Japan bikes it would be a great bike. When you need some mods (break/power/customization) you land on a price of Japan 900 bike.
Classic 650 if it ever gets released.
None of these 2. The practical option is RE Himalayan 450 with tubeless tires cause it can be a cruiser on highways, any roads or no roads with bigger fuel tank.
Maybe you didn't read the title of the video quite well..... Its says twin cylinder engine... Himalayan might be the best bike in the world but this video is about RE twin engine bikes.
Is 450 enough for highway driving ?
I love the look of the darked out versions. but $13k CAD is a big ask for overweight, underpowered old tech. If the importers here were charging something more in line with other markets then maybe I'd take it seriously.
Shotgun looks good😍🤚
Review ultraviolet f77 mach2
Nothing can beat gt
I really like the Shotgun 650 (and all RE bikes really) but I'm not sure about the (lack of) power - does anyone know what they are like overtaking? For example; if I am stuck behind a car doing 50 in a 60, how easily will I be able to get past the car?
No problem at all.
@@TheBezaleel Cheers!
It will do that easily from what I hear. I think even if you are stuck behind a car doing 65 it will easily allow you to jump up to 75 or 80 to go around it pretty quickly.
Will do it easy enuff.. Like taking candy from a kid
Will do it easy enuff.. Like taking candy from a kid
I vote for the Super Meteor.
Shotgun 650 with 865 big bore !
The super meteor looks good, but carrying all that Xtra wt? Should have been an 850! So, the lighter shotgun looks tempting.
are the Shotguns usd forks an improvement over the Int ?
Super Duper Meteor, for me.
I'm Choosing SD650 ❤🔥
Just wait for it. It's coming.
“None” 😂
What is coming?
Shot Gun is not th Indian Scout Bob but it looks good
Man I like Royal Enfield but they’re overpriced where I live. (The Continental GT650 is within 500 USD equivalent of a Triumph Trident.) Want one but not at those prices.
Just today there are spy shots of Classic 650, Scram 650 and 450 Roadstar available...one can check those
i like RE and own three RE bikes, but this is the worst looking RE imo, Inty, Conti and SM650 are just gorgeous, they made this one for custom build doesn't give them excuse to just release it half assed.
I am looking to buy a conti 650, but some people say the engine heats up too much and where I live it is most of the time hot. What are your thoughts?
@@thenavman7 It only gets hot in bumper to bumper traffic and what's your current bike? It's not extremely hot and soon as traffic clears a bit and air starts flowing you won't feel much heat again. But guess it depends on person I'm riding RE since 13 years so probably I'm used to such heat. But don't worry too much about heat.
@@muttineni03Thanks for the reply man! I have been riding an RE Thunderbird 350 2014 model since 2 years. Now, I was thinking of buying this one. Thanks so much for the info.
@@thenavman7 Then I think you should be ok and parallel twin is a massive upgrade from uce 350 engine I have tbts 2010 and hunter, just don’t think gt as racing machine, it’s just a beautiful cruising machine.
@@muttineni03Alright, I am hoping to buy in the near future. Thanks man!
I used to ride a Royal Enfield 350 with a Jet 80 sidecar to school the girls couldn’t give a sh-t. ☹️
We buy Royal Enfields in India because there's no other cheap or better alternative for a good looking classic retro bike, with semi decent reliability, quality and service. But why tf would you ever want to buy an Enfield if you live in the EU, UK or US. There are so many alternatives for the bike. In all the categories.
Validation for us Indians and views
What nonsense. - The RE 350 Classic f. eg. Never seen a more authentic "retrobike" (cause it isn't. ( Because it was never build in another shape), for only 5000 €. - A real stabil motobike, in comparison to a Vespa 300, wich costs up tu 6500 to 8000 €, this motorcycle is not just an alternative, but the solution
@@christianb.4726 stop spewing nonsense, Italian brands are definitely going to be more expensive. That's not a fair comparisons. Look at the mt 03, honda rebel, Kawasaki 230 even. Different genres but better performance and built quality, which falls under the 5000 euro mark. And royal Enfield IS marketed as a classic/retro bike.
Ok, in some points I agree. - But the RE 350 Classic stays a very comfortable, solid, iconic, and good performing Retro bike for me. It caught my eye at first side.... . In Germany we say : "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Guten Abend
@@christianb.4726 that is YOUR opinion.
leave all and take a BSA goldstar for a change😊😊😊
Or wait till October and buy the Classic 650
Interceptor ❤
I would go with the Shotgun or the Super Meteor if I had money. Also, the shotgun's modular pillion seat/rack needs to be integrated into every RE bike.
only correct answer is cont and if u want to wait its definitely classic 650
Just saw 450 hunter spy shot getting tested make a video on that @motobob
It's a 450 Scram that's going to be pure fun !!
Definitely the Interceptor 650.
Jesus. It is. Painful. Listening to your. Pauses. But thank you for the detailed informative review ❤
I love Shotgun
None of these supposedly "different bikes" surpasses the pleasures of an ancient Classic 500 euro 4, although they may be more powerful and qwicker.
I literally want the interceptor next for a sidecar build I want to do ( I already ride a GT650)
Sorry, Rob, but it has to be “none of the above”.
Gt>>>
shotgun????
There is a 450 hunter and a 450 scram has been spied on the roads during test runs
These "sponsors" are getting out of control.
... probably none

It's a very easy choice. You get the 650 that makes at least 65hp... Oh wait....
I'm sorry. I'm not into REs
so why are u watching 🫠
@@roopraj1156 cause it's for MOTOBOB I'm watching.
None, unless you don't care about thought, engineering, finishing, material quality, reliability.....etc
My Interceptor 650 is the lamest purchase I have ever done.
Lindu makers? id rather buy chinese
