Read somewhere that elephants react to us the same way we do to puppies and kittens so I don’t find it surprising that they want to play with us like we would with a dog
@@SlideIX They do, there has been 1 known story of ab elephant bonding with a dog, sadly the dog got killed by the local wildlife and the elephant mourned and was depressed for a long time. It’s a joy to see them live happy though which is why I get a real thrill in keeping them safe from poachers.

I had a joyous laugh. All the emotions were pure; from the elephant being curious to the reporter's laugh at the end.

We need more stories like this one on the news. If you rewatch the video, you can see how thoughtful the little elephant is. She/He gets very curious about the reporter, stops to think, and then decides to go for it.
I watch this a lot. Always sweet, wholesome and funny. Guy is a trooper and tries to keep going even when he's being film--bombed. I just realized the reporter sounds nasally for a second when the trunk covers his nose.

Elephant has ability to smell better than sniffer dog. It can smell the rain far away for hundreds kilometers and good memories to remember the member of herd by sniffing only the bones remain.

Elephants are almost legendary. Such brilliant, affectionate, majestic creatures. Got to interact with some on the Maasai Mara years ago. Apparently the chief of the adjacent village saved a matriarch of the herd from poachers when she was a baby. Every day the herd of elephants would wave at that guy when they went past him just on the village outskirts. So privileged, that dude.
Kaunda held composure so well during the escalating cuteness.
